15th July 2018

I was leaning on the railing letting the breeze hit my flustered face. Another drunk World Cup night at Robins, we were actually there ever since morning just drinking and swimming in the pool. Great! I bet you're wondering how I'm still not hospitalized by the amount of alcohol in my system. I don't know myself, I'm sure there are people out there who have it worse than me. After all there are almost 8 billion people on our planet, which is insane if you actually think about it. Imagine being able to meet every single one of them and getting to know their story the way you get to know mine. It would probably take years or maybe even a decade- okay maybe not that long but you get what I'm trying to portray here.

Everybody else was inside drinking and getting excited about the final while I was alone at the balcony just enjoying my beer. "Stop being antisocial" said my sister as she joined me, the girl stood next to me letting her long hair dangle over her shoulder. "What are you talking about?" I'm not being antisocial, "Lou, please! I lived with you for almost 17 years and I know how you are when you're thinking so just tell me." She looked at me concerned, "Is it him again?" I nodded, "Aw Lou, why are you worrying about it, he's your best friend, who says that he doesn't feel the same way?" I continued to smoke once I felt her arm wrap around me pulling me closer, "Because he has a girlfriend and okay maybe he doesn't feel the same towards her as he did in the beginning but he's still taken..." "So what?! You have a boyfriend Lou and look at you. He is such a great guy and he always takes care of you, all I'm gonna tell you is to follow whatever your heart tells you and everything is going to work out fine. I believe in you baby." She said, I smiled to myself because her words gave me a clear idea of what I actually wanted and desired in my life and in that moment all I could think about was Bruce.

"GUYS! I'm sorry to disturb you but Andrew wants us to go to this stadium to watch the game- he's gone crazy and he started talking in his French accent that nobody understands!" Exclaimed Mike, Emily and I laughed and walked back inside; taking our stuff and chugging our beers. All of us left Robins studio and left to go to Andrews car, he was too drunk to drive the car but refused to admit it and drove the car anyway. There weren't a lot of seats in the car so we all had to squeeze in. I sat on Bruce and held the front seat of the car, thank god that it wasn't a long ride anyway. I clutched onto the metal railings as we left the place. Andrew was driving like a maniac- speeding and drifting on the roundabout, all I remember from that drive is just me yelling at the top of my lungs "ROLLER COASTER!" as Bruce held me tightly so that I wouldn't slip and fall out of the open window.

Once we got to the 'stadium' which wasn't even a stadium but a big ass tent with huge screens that were streaming the match. Majority of us weren't allowed to drink because we're underage so we just left the booze situation for Andrew and Robin, who handled it pretty well. They brought a whole bucket of beers which kind of finished quickly if you ask me.

Unfortunately, there weren't any places to sit so all of us had to stand in the crowd and if you're unlucky like me to just be 5'4 then you probably wouldn't be able to see anything; especially if you were surrounded by grown sweaty men.

I stood next to Bruce who was really focused on the game but would take his attention away from the screen from time to time to check if I was okay 'down there'. At some point though he had to leave me because his school friends happened to be in the same tent as we were so he went to chill with them for a little bit and I was stuck with Mike. "Prince Charming left you?" he mocked me, "Fuck off!" I yelled back at him which was followed by laughter. While I was busy trying to see what was going on, I kept on looking back at Andrew who was chanting and singing some stuff in French while spilling his beer on everybody including my sister.

Eventually, it was half-time so we went outside for a quick smoke to get some fresh air since the inside of the tent was so humid I could barely breathe. It was mid-summer so the weather outside was really nice, there was this warm breeze and the sky was clear and it was just so relaxing. I was already on the verge of being drunk but kept on denying so none of my friends would call me a 'lightweight'. At one moment I really needed to pee (that's what you get for drinking so much beer) so all of us went to look for a bathroom but of course there were none. I felt like my bladder was about to explode, literally, I'm not exaggerating here. There were no bathrooms nearby except for an empty tennis court. Yeah! I know! how disgusting of me. To pee on a tennis court but at that time it seemed like the best and only option I had. I entered the empty area while the rest kept a look out to see if anyone was coming. God it was so embarrassing. Can you imagine? Me, a 16 year old drunk girl just calmly peeing in the middle of a fucking tennis court. Whoever played there the next day, I'm sorry.

Anyway, once I was done I returned to my friends and we proceeded to make our way back inside the tent but of course, what is a night in Lou's life without some issues. The bouncer that was letting the people enter stopped us and said that we can't enter anymore. Robin and Andrew began arguing with the guy while Mike, Emily and I backed off and waited somewhere else. They came back shortly, "Yeah, so we can't enter anymore 'cause they know that you guys are underage." said Robin, "So what now?" Asked Mike, "Well we go back to mine and drink more man, party's still going homie." He added and that's what we did. We made our way to Andrews car and got inside. We were like 2 minutes away from Robins house once Emily gasps and yells "GUYS! WHERE'S BRUCE?" we all noticed that Bruce wasn't with us. How hard is it to lose someone as tall as him. No wonder there was so much space in the car. I started calling him but there was no answer, "Oh my god guys he's fucking dead! They caught him, they'll shave his head and we'll have to bail him out of jail!" I cried out, "Shut up Lou, he's fine, he's probably still with his friends" growled Andrew. Indeed he was alright. We found him sitting on a bus stop alone with his head between his knees. I opened the door and jumped out of the car trying to grab him and throw him inside of the car. Man I really do overthink things when I'm drunk.

We got back to Robins place but I unfortunately I don't remember anything else that happened later on, I might've drank too much. It was a great night though, a lot of memories were made and I was at peace. Living in the moment and not caring about tomorrow.
