It was a dark and stormy night in the small town of Atinila, everyone was in their homes asleep or getting ready for the next day. All but one was locked safely inside, a woman with long flowing black hair and gentle blue eyes looked down at the tiny bundle she carried in her arms. She felt the tears flow down her face as she looked all around for a place that would be safe to leave said bundle. She continued to walk despite all of the pain she was in. Eventually, she found a home that was a bit more shielded from the harsh weather.
So she slowly made her way there and gently knelt placing the bundle on the stairs. "Little one, I am sorry. I am so sorry. But, I must leave you here. Not because I do not want you. But because I know that one day this land will need you." As she spoke more tears ran down her face, she took off a necklace and placed it on the child, and kissed her forehead. "Be safe, grow up strong and courageous, and love like nothing in this world can stop you. Remain gentle yet strong. And....and always know you are my heart." She stood slowly making sure she didn't disturb her sleeping daughter and knocked on the door before she ran off and hid behind a tree, waiting to see if anyone would open the door for her child.
And no sooner did she hide did the door slowly opens and a woman appeared looking around for the noise. She was about to head inside when suddenly she heard the sound of a crying baby. This caused her to suddenly stop moving and drop to her knees as her husband came to investigate. "What is this?" He asked as he tried to be quiet so the baby would fall back asleep "I don't know. But whoever left her here left behind a necklace. We can't just ignore this." She spoke in hushed whispers. Her husband thought about it for a few moments before he nodded "bring her inside, and we'll name her Yuki."
The woman nodded with a gentle smile as she went inside holding the little one who was now given a name. The woman who was hiding behind the tree let out a sigh of relief as she saw them head inside "keep her safe." That was all she said before she left the town. She didn't get very far when she finally fell over and succumbed to her wounds. "Yuki, my Lil one, I am sorry." Those were the last words she was able to utter before her entire world went dark.
*Time skip*Seven years later Yuki was outside practicing with her father as he taught her how to correctly hold and thrown knives, or well kunai. She was a natural at it or so her father kept saying. She thought it was weird that she had to grow up learning the ways of the sword, especially since this was meant to be a peaceful time. But her father insisted she learned and learn she did. "All children must learn the ways of the sword. Regardless of this era of peace, it's still smart to know how to defend yourself little one." She remembered his words clearly as she hit the mark and grinned "that's my girl!" A voice suddenly shouted about the wind. A girl with long black hair and deep grey eyes turned to look at him. She had the most beautiful smile as she gave him a thumbs-up before she went to retrieve her weapons. "Your mother wants to take you out today." An eyebrow raised as she looked at her father "don't give me that look Yuki. She wants to take you to Hyrule village."
Yuki simply shrugged not having much to say. "Why am I going there?" She finally asked as they headed back towards the house. Her father let out a sigh "she figures since you hardly get along with any of the children here, besides Anya, that she wanted you to meet other kids, with the thought that you would make friends" "ah." Was her simple reply as they stopped in front of the house. She didn't have long to wait as her mother came out holding her baby sister Saya. "Is she ready?" She asked her husband "she is, a bit apprehensive about it but it'll do her some good to learn the land." He chuckled as he took Saya from her mother.
Yuki looked over at her family a fierce need to protect her little sister and a desire to make sure her sister would never need to learn how to handle weapons. She wanted the world to remain peaceful as it was now. Yet something always warned her that this peace might be short-lived. She didn't realize her mother had gotten the horse ready until she was lifted onto it. "Oh, I'm sorry I must have spaced out."
Her mother laughed as she climbed on behind her "it's alright. Ready to go Lil one?" Yuki nodded and smiled at her mom. Her mother returned the smile before she gave the command for her horse to go and they had soon set out for Hyrule village.
