As Yuki and her mother arrived in Hyrule village they immediately noticed a bunch of kids running around only to stop and look at the two that had arrived on a grey horse. Yuki's mother let out a soft chuckle "go on Lil ones keep playing." She spoke softly her voice gentle much like the wind. The children went back to playing or well all but one did. A boy with pointy ears, cerulean eyes, and dirty blonde hair watched as the woman dismounted the horse and carefully helped down a young girl.
He continued to watch as the raven-haired girl looked around the town with an almost nervous expression in her eyes. He slowly walked over ignoring the yells from all the other kids. He felt a need to talk to this girl. "Hello" he spoke softly to not startle her. But that happened anyway. Her grey eyes widened as she stared at the boy who had simply just said hello. She looked up at her mom who smiled gently and nodded, urging her daughter to say hello back and introduce herself.
After a few moments, she looked back to the boy who was most likely around her age and simply spoke one word "hello." She was nervous but she didn't let it show in her voice. The young boy smiled as he held out his hand "My name is Link, what's your name?" She frowned for a moment before she smiled and reached out to shake his hand "My name is Yuki." She giggled suddenly feeling completely at ease around this boy almost like something had bound the two together.
Her mother watched with wide green eyes as her daughter who was almost always serious had laughed or well she giggled. But it was a shock. She smiled as she realized her daughter might have found a friend. And if all else went the way it should have, perhaps a partner to watch her back when she finally started venturing out into the world on her own. "Come on." He spoke pulling Yuki's mother from her thoughts and watched as Yuki simply walked off with the boy. Again this surprised the mother to the point where she probably would have fainted but didn't.
Her daughter who never trusted a soul, who never got close to anyone but Anya had hopefully just found someone who could potentially be her friend as well. In her eyes, it was defiantly a step in the right direction. So she silently followed the two as they walked around the town square. She lost them once or twice before she saw them sitting on a rock watching the sky. The young boy, Link was telling Yuki all about the pretty flowers in the town and Yuki had the most gentle smile on her face. Which simply kept the mom at ease as she leaned against a wall watching.
It wasn't long before a man appeared near the duo and in a blink, she had her hands on the twin daggers that were hidden on the inside of her cloak. Her green eyes are now heavily trained on the kids and the strange man. Yet Yuki who was usually much quicker didn't reach for her weapons the next thing she heard was the young blonde-haired boy yelling "daddy!" And then ran and hugged the man's legs. Yuki's mother soon relaxed and realized he meant no harm, he was probably just coming to pick up his son.
Yuki in the meantime watched both Link and his father. Her eyes easily memorizing both of them and her surroundings. She must have gotten lost in her thoughts because she then felt a hand gently shake her shoulder. She blinked completely confused as she looked at Link. "Yuki, I've been calling your name for five minutes." She blushed feeling slightly embarrassed "oh I'm sorry." "It's okay. I want you to meet my daddy." This made the young girl's eyes widen, "oh hello sir." She spoke softly yet loud enough to be heard. "Hello, Lil one. Link says your name is Yuki. Is that correct?" "Yes." She spoke once again a smile lighting up her face before she turned to her mother and waved her over knowing that she had been watching.
This took both son and father by surprise as a woman with long black hair and green eyes left the shadows of the wall and walked over to them "this is my mother, Alexa." Her mother's eyes widened but she quickly hid it "a pleasure to meet you Link, and sir?" The man laughed "call me Kaito. It's a pleasure to meet both of you." Yuki had gone back to being silent as the two parents talked.
Link for some reason didn't like how silent she became so he took her hand and walked with her down a dirt path that led to a stream just outside of the village square "Are you  alright  Yuki?" He looked at her his cerulean eyes full of worry. Yuki gave him a soft smile one that made her seem more relaxed and at ease with the world around her "yes, I'm fine thank you, Link." He nodded with a soft smile. He wasn't sure why but there was already a strong desire to keep this girl safe and happy. Little did he know Yuki had similar thoughts "how old are you?" Yuki had finally asked after several very long moments of silence. He blinked before he laughed "I'm 7, I'll be turning 8 in three weeks. What about you Yuki?" She blinked surprised that he was so close to her age if not a few months older, which was a relief she never could get along with younger kids. She always felt too mature. Probably because that's how she was raised.
"I'm 7 I won't be 8 until the first winter snow comes." She smiled. (At this point they're in spring. So yes Link is in the spring I apologize if this is wrong) Link smiled as she gave him an answer "that's awesome Yuki." She giggled. Yet unbeknown to both a monster was nearby waiting to strike both kids. Yuki heard the snap of a twig and her carefree smile suddenly vanished and in its place was a calculating look as she reached into her pocket and pulled out two daggers. Links eyes widened "Yuki? What are you gonna do with them?" Just as he asked she threw them in the eyes of the orange bokoblin. The monster let out a shriek as it was suddenly blinded.
Link stared wide-eyed as he felt his heart hammering in his chest. He looked over at Yuki who had appeared so kind and gentle was suddenly very deadly with a pair of twin daggers. He went to back away until he saw the deep sadness and loneliness that lingered in her eyes "I'm sorry. I couldn't let it hurt you. Where I'm from we all learn how to use weapons." She explained her voice sounding so broken and lonely. This, this was why she never had friends.
Link slowly relaxed when he realized she was trying to protect him. Both had forgotten about the monster as it had gone silent. Soon it slammed its club into the ground scaring them both. Yuki jumped sideways pulling link with her. The two started running but weren't fast enough as the bokoblin managed to throw a rock at links head causing a deep cut to appear and blood seemed from the new wound on his head. Yuki's eyes widened in horror and she reached into her bag to pull out one more dagger and threw straight and true right at the monster's head. It hit its mark yet it wasn't deep enough. Before she could do anything else it swung its club at them. Yuki realized that even blinded it could smell them out. Before the club could hit them however it was sent flying in the other direction and two swords had easily gone through the monster's chest and heart "Yuki, Link!" Two very different voices yelled as the monster turned into a cloud of purple smoke.
Both kids looked over at their parents and let out twin sighs of relief. Links father ran over first seeing that his son was hurt "Link what happened?
Where did it even come from?" The last part was to himself. "I don't know Yuki blinded it but I think it was smelling us and it threw a rock." Kaito looked at the Lil girl with wide eyes till Alexa spoke explaining everything. "That makes sense. Especially since it saved my son's life" he looked at Yuki and smiled "thank you. I'm glad he has a friend like you." Yuki nodded as she watched the cut on Link's head continue to bleed. A deep sorrow was easily seen in her eyes as she blamed herself. "Let's get that cleaned and patched up." Yuki heard her mother say as she went near Link.
Yuki who was still near link placed a hand on his head "I'm sorry, I should have paid more attention." The pain was so easy to hear in her voice that it nearly broke Link's heart. "It's okay Yuki" he smiled to show her he wasn't upset. Yuki went to say something when all of a sudden her hand glowed a gentle blue color. Out of shock, she yanked her hand away only to see the cut on the Link's head was now gone.
Her mother gasped and Link's father stared in shock "how did she?" "I have no idea." She was completely taken by surprise yet she was also worried. "Yuki, we should go." Yuki looked at her mother confused but nodded in agreement. "Why don't you two stay for dinner then head out." Her mother thought for a moment before she nodded "alright." After they had eaten did Yuki and her mother head to leave. "I'll see you again Yuki!" Link yelled. Both his father and Yuki's mother agreed that next time they would meet up in their home town of Atinila. Yuki and link hugged each other bye before her mother placed her back upon the horse and soon both were out of sight
