When Yuki had finally woken she noticed she was in an unfamiliar area. She slowly sat up to get a better look around when two hands gently pushed her back down. "Huh?" She looked over and saw an elderly woman and she had a deep frown on her face. "Don't try to move just yet young one. When we found you, had almost died on us. What on hyrule hurt you enough to cause that much blood loss?" Yuki blinked as she tried to recall what happened. With a gasp she clutched her head and the woman panicked "careful! Don't force yourself to remember if it hurts." "A guardian. I was traveling with my companion, we got separated and it hit me in the stomach, i don't recall anything after that."
The woman frowned "I'm relieved you're alive, not many survive after being attacked by guardian." Yuki nodded and once again attempted to sit up. This time the older woman helped her "where am I if I can ask?" The elder woman looked at her before giving an answer. "You're at highland stable, you should rest a bit more however. That was a nasty wound you received and honestly, I'm surprised you lived through it." Yuki shrugged, she had survived worse, this injury was just a minor set back in her opinion. "I will, but I wanna see how bad it is." The old woman sighed "it's been stitched up and bandaged, it was a clean shot right through you. So you need to be careful of any movement." And with that she left mumbling about getting her something to eat.
Yuki sighed as she rubbed her stomach, feeling around she found the stitches and sighed "this is gonna scar." With slow movements she carefully stood up and headed outside. The elder woman looked over and felt her eye twitch, she had just told the child she needed to rest. "You shouldn't be moving." Yuki looked at her and shrugged "I can't stay, I need to find him." The woman raised an eyebrow "him?" "Yes, my partner, erm well no my boyfriend." The elder woman sighed "he might be dead, then again you are the only one I saw and you said you two were separated." Yuki narrowed her eyes "he isn't dead. Besides my body is already healing itself. So I'll be good to go in a bit."
"You'll eat first." Yuki sighed as she reluctantly agreed. While she waited she decided to head back inside and found a room in which she could change her clothes. Putting on her other outfit she went back outside. Seeing the food was now ready she sat down and ate while the older woman checked to make sure she wasn't still bleeding. "You're all set. It doesn't seem like it's gonna open, which is a good thing, so whenever you're ready you can go." Yuki nodded "thank you, and thank you for saving my life." The elder woman smiled "of course, I couldn't just let you die. All life is precious, and ironically enough you remind me of my granddaughter." Yuki raised an eyebrow "I see, can I ask where you're originally from then?" The woman laughed "of course you can. I'm originally from Atinila, 100 years ago it fell in a masacre, and I had to run, fleeing the only home I had ever known, only to be chased out of another. I lived in Hyrule before this all happened."
Yuki's eyes widened and she choked on her food. The woman quickly reached over and patted her back trying to settle her down. "You alright now?" Yuki took a few minutes before she replied "yes, I'm fine." She smiled "good, it's been 100 years you know." Yuki raised her eyebrow wondering where this was going. "And yet, you haven't aged a single day." Yuki's eyes widened as this was said "lady Yuki, how on hyrule you're still alive is beyond even my knowledge but I'm so glad to see you, to see you're alive. And if you're alive, that means." Yuki nodded "yes, Link is indeed alive." The woman laughed "well I'll be damned, the goddess's must have been watching out for the both of you." She placed a gentle hand on Yuki's shoulder "be safe, and come back to visit when you're done with saving the world little one." Yuki smiled as she hugged the elder woman. "Of course, and next time I'll have Link." The elder woman laughed and Yuki stood saying a quick goodbye and finally left.
She wandered around not completely knowing the area, and it was even harder since she didn't have a map to guide her. She sighed as she followed a random path. As she followed it she started to hear a soft lullaby and frowned "What on hyrule?" She decided to follow the sound only stopping when she saw a giant flower like object. Thinking it was one of the great fairies she paid the fee of 1,000 rupees and stepped back. Her eyes widened when instead of it being a fairy it was another creature and it looked down at her. "Ah, at last, I'm free, tell me Girl are you the one who freed me?" Yuki nodded and the spirit smiled "I thank you, I am the horse god Malanya, I can see you love and care for all types of creatures, and yet your love of horses is great. For freeing me I shall return something to you, something you have lost a long time ago."
Yuki frowned as she couldn't recall what he was talking about. "You loved this one very much, and in return he loved you, your bond was special, unbreakable to even my eyes. So my gift to you, is your old companion Eien." Yuki's eyes widened as she suddenly recalled the first horse her mother ever got for her. "Eien? You can bring back my Eien?" The god nodded "of course, and this time it's free, I wish you luck on your journey." Yuki smiled as Eien appeared before her. "Thank you!" The god nodded and soon vanished back into the water below. Yuki looked over at Eien and her eyes filled with tears as she reached out a hand "Eien? Do you remember me boy?" The horse looked at her and nodded as he placed his muzzle in her out stretched hand. "Oh Eien, I'm so sorry Boy. I didn't mean to leave you all alone." The tears ran down her face as she carefully hugged her horse.
Eien nudged her showing her that it was alright, that what had happened had been out of her control. Once Yuki finished crying did she finally pull back and smile "alright, let's get out of here, we gotta find Link." Eien snorted, he was wondering where her ever faithful partner was. She laughed as she climbed up onto Eiens back. "And then, we gotta bring him here, I'm sure he misses Epona." Just as she said that however a beautiful brown mare appeared next to Eien and her eyes widened "Epona!" Reaching over she ruffled the other horses mane and giggled "thank you Malanya!" She swore she heard a chuckle but paid it no mind. "Come on girl, you're coming with me. We gotta track down Link after all." Epona nodded as Yuki kept a hold on both reigns and headed down the path. Stopping by the stable once more to register both horses.
The keeper tried to convince her to leave Epona but Yuki refused. "Nope, I'm sure I'll run into my partner before hand so it'll save me the trouble of having to come back here." The owner sighed and reluctantly watched her leave with both horses. After asking for directions on how to get towards the desert did she finally leave and make her way there. As she made her way through the forest she made mental notes of the area and finally decided that she would bring Link here, especially since she felt like this area held important Information and stuff to find. She carefully avoided most monsters, but had to stop and take some of them out. Once it was to dark to travel she reluctantly stopped for the night. Starting a fire she easily baked an apple or two and ate them both. Looking around to make sure the area she was in was safe, did she finally fall asleep.
When she woke it was to the sound of the horses getting restless. With a frown she looked around now on high alert and stood. "Alright, time to move." She no longer felt safe in the small area and quickly mounted Eien. Grabbing Epona's reigns she quickly took off. It was a few days later when she realized she was now nearing the desert and frowned, she wouldn't be able to take the horses across the sand so she reluctantly stopped at another stable. This one was called  Gerudo Canyon Stable. As she dismounted Eien she spoke to the keeper who all to happily allowed her to board both horses. She looked around and saw it was now dark. Deciding that it was now to late to try and navigate the desert she went and paid for a bed. Laying down she closed her eyes and was soon asleep. Little did she know though that Link was closer then she thought. She had no idea he was already in the desert and at the bazaar that they had agreed upon heading to first. As she slept she swore she could hear the voice telling her that soon, soon she would find what she had been looking for and with that being said she finally succumbed into a dreamless sleep.
