  10 years later*

Yuki was sound asleep in her bed, completely unaware of the fact that Link was busy running around downstairs trying to get breakfast ready. Today was her 17th birthday and her father had summoned the both of them to Atinila for. Link and Yuki had long since moved out of their respective homes and settled down in a small village known as Hateno. Link decided that since they were usually always together it would make more sense for them to share a house. Yuki agreed and soon moved in with him. Much to her fathers dislike. Her mother and sister however both supported her, even her little brother Kai just wanted to see his older sister happy. And she was usually only the happiest around Link. Especially after her fall out with Anya. Link wasn't sure of what really happened but all he remembered was yuki coming him the one night soaked to the bone and her grey eyes almost lifeless.
He jumped up and pulled her inside before wrapping a blanket around her and pulled her into his arms as he sat in front of the fire. He tried asking her but she refused to speak of it. Saying it was to soon. So he respectfully dropped it. He let out a sigh as he looked at the clock. It read only 8 in the morning and he really wanted to let Yuki sleep but he also knew they needed to get to her parents before it got to dark. They even had to go see his father today. Kaito was sad that his son had moved so far away yet in a sense he was proud of him. He was learning to stand for himself, and he had Yuki to help him along the way. She was a smart level headed young woman who had grown to be even more beautiful then princess Zelda.
Link sighed again as he realized he had been spacing out and almost burnt the eggs. Last time he did that Yuki scolded him for being so careless. In his defense she was a heavy distraction. Lately his feelings towards the young woman who lived with him had changed. At first he figured it's cause of how good of a friend she was but when he really looked back at it he realized that he always loved her. He just didn't know how to say it. Not without stumbling or fearing she would laugh and reject him and ask if it was a cruel joke. He slowly made his way up the stairs and opened her door. He quickly made sure she was still asleep and then made sure she had no weapons near or god forbid on her before he sat down and shook her shoulder "Yuki wake up. We gotta eat so we can get to your fathers today." Yuki opened one eye with a groan. She hated being woken up, but Link had a valuable point, they had so many people to visit today. And she ironically was not looking forward to it.
He gave her a soft smile realizing she was still half asleep as she slowly sat up rubbing her eyes. "What time is it?" She mumbled, as she brushed her black hair out of her eyes, trying to get use to the sudden brightness. He sighed "8 in the morning." He watched her groan with an amused smile. How much she had changed from her younger self. Her younger self would have almost killed him, if she hadn't recognized him in time. She also definitely was never a morning person. The only reason she woke so early was 1 because of Saya, 2 her father, and 3 when they needed to train together.  As they got older and needed to spend less time on training did he notice her sleeping pattern had changed as well.
"Yuki?" She looked at him through half lidded eyes and groaned. She wanted him to leave so she could sleep just a bit more "can you close your eyes? And if you do, you can sleep for another half hour." She tapped her chin pondering this but soon agreed and closed her eyes. Link took a deep breath before he looked at her. Like really looked at her. She had grown, her long black hair now pooled around her, and when she was standing it was down past her thighs, her stormy grey eyes were a bit lighter, and she was taller, a bit more slimmer, probably because of how active the two were from training. She also had muscle, not like the Gerudo women, but she had sleek muscles that were hard to spot. Unless you looked closely. Yuki let out an impatient noise and he chuckled. He really felt bad for making her wait so much. He slowly leaned forward and whispered in her ear "happy birthday Yuki." She went to say something and open her eyes but then she felt warm lips against her own.
Link had gently pressed his lips to hers in a very chaste kiss. He pulled back to see her eyes only half open, and he looked at her shocked, instead of her usual blank expression she was blushing. He bit his lip before he leaned forward again this time cradling her face before kissing her once again. This time she leaned into him and gripped his blue shirt returning his kiss. Link let out a soft groan, she was half asleep but he honestly didn't care. He just pulled her onto his lap and wrapped his arms around her thin waist. He nibbles on her lower lip as she hooked one slender pale leg around his hips which caused her white shirt to ride up her sides. Link pulled back a moment to catch his breath before he trailed butterfly kisses down her throat pulling low moans from Yuki who only tightened her grip before she tangled her fingers into his dirty blonde hair. She lightly tugged on it wanting to feel his lips back on hers and he growled as he pinned her down under him.
She opened her eyes which were almost black, due to the actions going on between them. She opened her mouth to say she was sorry when he hungrily reclaimed her mouth. It drew a long moan out from her which he swallowed with his own mouth. His hands were trailing down her sides, rubbing occasionally as he moved himself between her legs. She soon broke the kiss and looked at him. All the while biting her lower lip. She took in how much darker his eyes were and she felt something pressing against her thigh, she didn't wanna think about that though. Thinking would wake her up, and she was enjoying this dream.
He bent his head down and kissed her again, much slower then the last few and rubbed himself against her covered sex which caused a mewl to slip out of her mouth. He quickly slid his tongue into her mouth and tried to coax hers into playing with his. It didn't take long for her to respond. She felt his tongue press against hers before giving up and allowing him to explore her mouth. Once he was satisfied with the kiss did he pull back to a very breathless Yuki. A thin string of saliva connected them. He gave her a soft smile which she returned. He gave her one more kiss before he carefully pulled away. She pouted but he tapped her nose "sleep Yuki." She yawned and in no time flat she was sound asleep.
He stood up and went to go back downstairs but looked back at Yuki chucking. Her cheeks were flushed, and her blankets now all over the place. Honestly he thought it was adorable. He only wondered if she would remember this. He could hope she did, this way they could figure out everything together. If she forgot well he won't lie, it would hurt. Least possible case was her thinking this was a dream. He chuckled again before heading backdown.
20 minutes later Yuki once again woke up, but this time she was alert and more aware of her surroundings. She sat up and stretched popping her back as she did so. She looked around confused. Why was her bed a mess? She sighed and got up getting out her clothes for the day and went to shower stripping out of her white shirt as she closed the bathroom door behind her. As she showered she recalled a very bizarre dream and blushed faintly at how real it felt. She finished her shower and was soon getting out. She dried herself off and slid on her black pants and a dark green t-shirt before she headed downstairs to see Link. "Morning link" she smiled over at him and he smiled back almost hoping she would walk over and give him another kiss.
She walked over and his breathing stopped, only to start again when she gave him a quick hug. "Did you cook I'm starving?" "Yeah I did, it's on the table." He watched her go into the kitchen to get some food as he followed her bitting his lip "do you remember this morning Yuki?" She raised an eyebrow as she chewed her food "not really, why did you wake me up?" A frown appeared on his face briefly before he laughed "Yeah, you fell back asleep though. So I decided to let you wake on your own." She nodded "why so sad?" He blinked, he forgot how fucking observant this girl was. "Ah got lost in my own thoughts." She nodded, this was normal for them. "Any dreams?" She bit her lip "I had one. I can't recall all of it but...it felt real." She was blushing faintly and soon Link realized she might actually be remembering what happened between them "well take your time Yuki. Your dreams can't be rushed."
She nodded and went back to eating. She was sure he was talking about her dreams of an unfamiliar place, one that she felt like she had been before. But couldn't ever recall it upon waking. However this time it wasn't that dream. Well no, she was having that dream, before the other one occurred. As she ate her food link walked till he was behind her and started fixing her hair "it's gotten long." She shrugged "I'm not cutting it." "Good" she  laughed "someone likes long hair." "I love it actually. It looks amazing on you." Yuki blushes but quickly pushed it away. "Anyway, we should get going right?" Link sighed, he really just wanted to stay home with Yuki now. Especially since he might have a shot at making her remember what her dream was about.
Reluctantly however he pulled away from her and headed outside to get both Epona and Eien ready for the trip. Yuki soon came outside wearing her black cloak and handed Link his grey one. "Thanks" "you're welcome." He tapped her nose and she laughed. "Happy birthday." She smiled softly as she poked him "thank you." He leaned towards her and she bit her lip hard, she so badly wanted to kiss him, but she knew better. She couldn't kiss him. So she reluctantly moved away "let's get going." He sighed and wrapped his arms around her from behind grunting slightly as she squirmed trying to free herself. "Stop moving." He hissed into her ear which made her shiver, a deep blush was now easily seen on her face as she squirmed once again. Link hissed out and pressed himself against her. Yuki bit back a moan as she felt his member pressing against her backside. "Yuki, stop moving." She finally froze in his arms and Link let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a single necklace, and very carefully put it on Yuki.
Her eyes widened as she looked down at the necklace with was a simple chain attached to a sapphire gem, which was forged into the form of a heart. She looked at him and smiled "Link....thank you so much." He gave her a soft smile and kissed her cheek. She froze for a second before relaxing against him. Link grinned and without warning Yuki found herself being lifted onto Eien. She shrieked and shot link a dirty look. He couldn't help but laugh, it was always fun catching her off guard like that. "Oh you'll be alright Yuki~" She mock glared at him before a wicked smile appeared on her face "catch me if you can castle boy." And with that she took off, Eien moving quickly but carefully to get out of town. Link growled, he hated that nickname. Then he realized she challenged him and grinned. He could use this to his advantage.
He was gonna catch her alright, catch her and claim his reward. He climbed up on Epona and soon was chasing after her. It didn't take long to find her as he reached forward and grabbed the reigns and her hand "I win" Yuki laughed "you'll have to pick your reward later." He chuckled already knowing what he wanted. The two smiled at each other and decided to visit Kaito first.
Upon arriving in hyrule village did they immediately head to kaito's home knowing he took the day off to see both Yuki and Link before they headed to Atinila. Once they arrived did Link dismount  and then walked over to help Yuki dismount as well. "Dad were here!" Link yelled as he walked inside holding Yuki's hand. Normally she would pull away but today she decided to humor him and kept a hold of his hand. He smiled and laughed as Kaito came running down from upstairs. Before either one could move, Yuki found herself being crushed by an overly happy Kaito. "Can't breathe." He laughed as he let her go "I got you a gift." She laughed as Link watched the interaction with a smile. Kaito quickly ran to go get his gift when Link wrapped his arms around her from behind and his his face in her neck "Link..." her voice held a warning but he simply ignored it as he kept his face against her neck. "I'm not doing anything Yuki." She sighed knowing he was right "what do you want as your reward." He hummed and figured it was best to wait until they were alone. "Link?" "I'm thinking." "Ah." He nuzzled her neck again as Kaito came back. He froze watching how they interacted and stayed silent. He wanted to see what happened between them. "Yuki?" "Mmm?" She hummed "I know what I want." She raised an eyebrow "and what's that?" "Kiss me." Her eyes widened as a blush formed along her face "Link! You know I can't." He frowns "you promised." She sighed and realized he was right "can it be done later?" He carefully turned her to look at him "now. My dads busy and you'll keep wanting to back away." She frowned "I swear it on my life, that I'll kiss you once we get home." He raises an eyebrow and sighs before he softly kisses her forehead "once we leave your parents and not after." She blushed but agreed with him.
Kaito smiles and realized that maybe, just maybe they would finally get together. He then came out of hiding before the two could do anything else and handed Yuki a brand new bow which made her grey eyes widen "Kaito, thank you." "Of course Yuki. Have a good birthday and a safe trip home." The two nodded and stayed a bit longer before heading to Atinila. Once they arrived it was close to late afternoon and they were both tired and hungry from  the trip there. Like before Link dismounted and helped Yuki get down. They tied the horses to one of the trees and headed towards Yuki's parents home. The village was relatively quite as most families were inside eating lunch so Link and Yuki got to enjoy the silence. Once they reached her house did they knock on the door. A soft "come in" was heard and soon both went inside to get out of the cold.
They had just closed the  door when two very excited screams were heard and Yuki was soon falling backwards only to be caught by Link who chuckled and looked down at Kai. "Hey there lil man." "Link you're here too!" He laughed "of course i am. I'm always with Yuki." Kai grinned as he let his sister go and then laughed "mistletoe!" Yuki's eyes widened and she looked at link who grinned and whispered in her ear "this doesn't count." She nodded and looked at him before he closed the gap between them and kissed her softly trailing his fingers through the stray hairs that had escaped her braid. Yuki took a moment before returning his kiss. After a few moments they slowly pulled away and she looked down at the floor. Hiro however saw the look in her eyes before she forced it away.
"I'm abolishing the rule that bans partners from marrying." Hiro looked at his daughter and Link before adding "I've realized it's no longer a fair rule. And everyone deserves to be happy. You two may be partners but now nothing stops you from being with each other." He hoped Yuki would take a hint and finally, finally show some form of love for Link. Yet there was no such luck and he sighed as he went to go tell the others the news. Yuki's eyes widen in shock at her fathers words and Link looked surprised but nodded in a silent thank you. Alexa was soon shooing everyone to go and sit while she made dinner. It was a peaceful night. They were all laughing and joking. Even Yuki and link who were cuddled up with each other. They were talking about anything and everything like they use to do. Once Yuki fell asleep in his arms did he chuckle and carefully lay her down. "Sir?" Hiro looked up and motioned him to follow. Link looked a bit surprised but soon followed after him. "I want to be with Yuki." "I know you do." Link went silent not sure what was next to come "you have my blessing, but be patient. She has to open up to you." Link went to speak but Hiro cut him off "she loves you. She just doesn't know how to say or show it." Link nodded "all i ask is you be patient and wait for her to be ready." "I can do that sir." "Call me dad you damn brat." Link laughed "I'm gonna wake her so we can leave." "Stay it's to late to travel now." Link hesitated but nodded. He really didn't wanna wake Yuki again anyway.
The two went inside and link carefully picked her up before taking her to her room. He laid her in bed bed and soon laid next to her after removing both his shoes and her own. It wasn't long before he fell asleep holding onto the one person who meant the world to him.
Yuki woke to her mom roughly shaking her and motioning her and link to be silent. Blood curling screams could be heard, and it was hard to tell where they came from "run, the both of you, you're horses are outback. The neighbors took Saya and Kai but run!" Yuki was startled and quickly pulled on her shoes and cloak. Link followed suit and ran out the backdoor holding onto Yuki tightly "mom! Dad come on!" "Go! We'll be right there! We'll meet up I promise!" And then the door slammed shut. Yuki could smell the blood heavy in the air. Screams were getting louder and she was honestly terrified. Link pulled her up onto her horse and climbed up on his. Both horses broke into a run as they escaped the massacre of Atinila. Yuki killed a few monsters that were running towards them but other then that they made a clean get away.
She looked back for a second and saw people or monsters, she honestly couldn't tell moving, and fighting. She wanted to go back, but Link wasn't letting her, and Eien also wouldn't turn around. It was a losing battle, and they had just barely made it out. Link looked back to see if Yuki was there and was relieved to still see her. His heart was in pieces as he saw the tears running down her face. Once they were a a good distance away did he slow down and wait for her. He reached over and cupped her face "they'll find us, and they'll bring the kids okay?" She slowly nodded not trusting her voice she just held his hand. "Let's go before you freeze to death out here." She simply nodded and followed after link back to their home. She could only hope her family would be there sometime soon.
