Turning back

Yuki and Link had been traveling for almost three weeks at this point, every so often stopping at near by towns and stables to restock. Neither one really knew where they were, they just hoped that they were close to finding Anilya. "Yuki, we might need to turn back soon." She sighed, he was right, yet she felt that they were close "just a bit longer, please." He sighed, "a bit longer, but it's taken us three weeks to get this far" "I know it has Link, but what if we're close?" He sighed again and cupped her face "and what if we're not Yuki? What if we've passed it?" She looked down as she pushed his hand away "you think i don't think about that? Everyday that thought crosses my mind. And it's driving me nuts that we haven't found it." He frowned as she pushed him away from her "Yuki..." she was beyond upset now, she felt like she was failing. "Just another day then we turn back. If we're smart we'll take some  of the shortcuts I've marked on the map."
She looked up at him and gave a very weak smile, "thank you. Let's look at that map actually." He nodded and opened it up for her to look at. She frowned noting the blank spot "ugh, it's horrible that it never ended up on a map." "You're telling me." She shot him a glare and he shrugged "whoever made this map remind me to stab him." Link laughed "sure Yuki. I'll remind you." She rolled her eyes, she was pretty serious about that. Yet something about the blank spot bothered her "I wonder if someone even looked for it..." "probably did. Probably never made it back either." Yuki shuddered at that. "That's probably very accurate...someone probably died trying." They were so lost in their own conversation that they didn't notice the members of the Yiga Clan had snuck up on them until it was to late.
A blade swung down and Yuki cried out in agony as she felt her shoulder being sliced clean open. Links eyes widened in horror but quickly drew his sword and stood in front of her having kicked the Yiga member backwards "stay behind me." "Like hell..." she groaned as she put pressure against her shoulder "it's not that deep. But it was, maybe a good 6 inches deep. Yet it thankfully missed anything vital. Link quickly Lunged Swinging the master sword across the Males stomach making him hiss in pain.
"Link!" Yuki yelled as yet another appeared in a puff of red smoke. He swung his sickle at links back while he was still recovering from his own attack, Yuki raised a dagger and blocked the blade, a dark look upon her face. "Leave him alone." She kicked him backwards before throwing the blade into the males shoulder. He howled in pain and dropped his weapon which gave Yuki enough time to not only grab it but draw another weapon, she chose a short sword and slid across the slick ground swinging Upwards with her good arm. Her blade met its target and a sickening noise was heard as the mans heart was impaled.
Yuki hissed as the movement aggravated her shoulder, but she pushed the sword all the way through before twisting it, swiftly killing the Yiga member. She yanked out the blade and blood splattered across her face, she didn't grimace, she didn't flinch. She just stood ready to help Link. Yet there was really no need. Link had finished his own opponent off and he quickly turned to Yuki. His eyes widened as he saw the blood on her face and part of her clothes, yet he knew that some of it belonged to her as well. "Show me." He said as he reached to checked the severity of the wound she had received and he growled "not that bad Huh?" Yuki blinked, it didn't seem bad to her but then again it was hard to tell, and she was quickly becoming lightheaded.
"How bad....is it?" She was dizzy now, she didn't realize it was so deep, it was deep enough she was rapidly loosing blood "maybe 6 inches deep." He pulled out some bandages as he motioned for her to remove as much as she could of her shirt without causing to much pain and exposing to much skin. Yuki grimaced as she pulled the cloth away from her shoulder biting her tongue to hold back the scream she wanted to let out. Link got out everything he needed and went back over to help her finish removing the rest of the ruined sleeve. She would need new clothes after this. "God, what the hell were you thinking?" She raises an eyebrow "I didn't know he was there." Link sighed he didn't no either, not until Yuki Gad screamed "I'm sorry, this might really hurt." Yuki stiffened as Link poured water over the gash and she winced, it was uncomfortable, to say the least. He noticed the wince and frowned, he hated causing her pain. "We can't continue, not with this wound. We'll head to zora's domain and from there we'll let Mipha heal it. For now all I can do is bandage it to slow the blood."
She nodded, he was right, in her condition she was of no use and the pain was horrible, yeah she's felt pain before but this was a burning sensation. She looked at him as he wrapped her arm and frowned "you're hurt." "Yeah well, not as bad as you." Her frown deepened "shush and let me look." He raised an eyebrow as he tied the bandages making her wince "shit, I'm sorry Yuki." She took a deep breath to calm herself "it's fine. Trust me on this." She then grabbed his injured arm and placed a hand over it. "I'm sorry, I should have reacted faster." He cupped her face "nonsense, we're both at fault here. We knew to pay attention and we didn't." Yuki looked away but didn't push him, she kinda couldn't anyway, now with how close he was, it would only cause another injury.
She moved her hand from his arm and blinked, the cut was gone. Much like how the cut he had received on his head had vanished 10 years ago. "I really need to figure out how I do that." He chuckled "Yeah, that would be useful. Especially for that shoulder of yours." She laughed but it was weak, fake almost and it broke his heart "shhh, Yuki it's okay." He carefully held her against him in a gentle embrace and she just gripped his tunic, a soft sigh escaping her "the domain is close luckily." He nodded also feeling relieved with that knowledge in mind. While they had traveled for three weeks it didn't mean they traveled far, especially since sometimes they were back tracking their own steps, looking to see what they had missed.
Carefully he let her go and cleaned up her face before he helped her up onto Epona which had her eyes widen as he climbed up behind her "Link?" "You look dead on you're feet so I'm assuming you lost a bit to much blood, not enough to knock you out, but enough that you're dizzy right?" She opened her mouth intending to lying and argue but he gave her a pointed look and she pouted knowing she had been caught. "Yes." He hummed a response as he clicked his tongue for Epona to start moving, Eien was right next to him so he reached over and grabbed the reigns, he wasn't risking having him run off.
Yuki was watching him and smiled very faintly as she took them from him. "I got him." He chuckled "alright princess." She groaned "not that damn name again." This time he laughed. Since he had treated her wound there was no huge rush, however he also wasn't gonna sit there and take his sweet old time either. She was hurt, and he didn't like that. He swore he would protect her and so far he had failed. What kind of partner/boyfriend was he? Especially if he couldn't keep her safe. Yuki noticed the look in his eyes and hit his chest which made him glare down at her.
"What the Hell was that for?" "I know that look, and don't you dare sit there and blame yourself. We had no idea, you've kept me safe. Even when you think you haven't. I'm just reckless, I would rather take a killing blow for you then watch you fall in battle." His eyes widened at her words, and then he mentally cursed the goddess, of course she could read his expressions, they've only known each other for 10 years. "I hate how easily you understand my thoughts." She giggles "I don't always understand them. Sometimes they're confusing. But that's fine with me." She laid her head against his chest and he sighed a bit more relaxed "I'll do better I promise. But you have to promise me you'll stop being so reckless."
It took a few moments before she finally answered him "alright, I promise." "Thank you." He looked down and kissed the top of her head and they continued their trek towards Zora's domain. It took them half a day with links shortcuts and Yuki was relieved, she honestly just wanted to get off Epona and walk. Sitting for so long usually annoyed her, and she didn't like how Epona had to carry both her and Link. Link clicked his tongue and pulled back on the reigns for Epona to stop. They had finally arrived, and just in time too because it seemed like Mipha had also just returned from visiting Vah Ruta, the divine beast that she was chosen to pilot.
"Hey Mipha." Link called over to the Zora princess, she looked up surprised to hear her name and smiled as she saw link and Yuki "hello, what are you two doing out here?" Link dismounted and grabbed Yuki's hips and he carefully helped her down and to keep her steady. "Yuki got hurt." Mipha's eyes widened as she quickly walked over to them "how bad? And what happened?" Yuki was a kind woman, she didn't like knowing she was hurt "pretty bad, cuts about 6 inches deep. Her shoulder was literally slashed open with a sickle." Mipha flinched, that actually sounded brutal. "Come with me." And with that she dragged Yuki up to her chambers.
"Alright, I need to really see this to be of help. Can you remove the bandages?" She nodded as she worked on removing the bandages flinching a few times before Mipha walked over and helped her. She frowned, she couldn't believe that she didn't notice the ripped shirt, or the blood stained bandages when they had first arrived, then guilt as she hadn't really focused on Yuki, but on Link instead. If she was being honest with herself, she had a crush on Link, then again who wouldn't? Yet he never looked at her. Oh he looked at her when she spoke, but he didn't have that playful smile on his face, or an adoring expression like he did when Yuki was around. Around Yuki it was like he came to life. Something she was actually jealous of.
She felt bad about that too, Yuki had been nothing but kind to her in the short amount of time they knew each other. Even offered her words of encouragement when she felt like she would let her own people down. Once the bandages were removed did she grimace. The angry jagged cut wasn't a cut it was a gash. "Hold still, I'm going to heal it." She placed her hand over the wound and a soft glowing blue light appeared from her hand. "How did this happen?" Yuki sighed as Mipha started working on her shoulder "Yiga clan members caught us off guard." She sounded ashamed of that "was Link hurt?" "He had a cut, not like mine however." Mipha blinked "had?" Yuki sighed "I somehow healed him." Mipha blinked, she remembered when link had told her Yuki had healed him once a long time ago.
"Yet you can't heal yourself?" Yuki shrugged her good shoulder "I have no idea how I'm doing it. That's the issue, no idea what makes it flare." Mipha nodded as she understood what Yuki was saying "maybe practice with it." Again Yuki shrugged as she stared at a wall. Mipha sighed, as she continued working on her shoulder. Yuki was defiantly one of a kind, she was fierce and loyal. She was willing to die to keep those she loved alive, and it was another thing she was envious of. "Do you fear dying?" Yuki blinked "Yeah, I actually do. Because if I die, Link will be alone. And so will the rest of you. Then my family would also miss me." Mipha nodded at the answer she was given. Soon enough she finished and stood up grabbing something from the closet "you're clothes are ruined and if you return home wearing that, well you'll give people a panic attack." Yuki sighed "I don't have anything else on me."
Mipha giggled as she handed her an outfit "put it on, I'll go wait with Link while you change." Yuki opened her mouth and then closed it before she finally spoke "thank you, not just for my shoulder, and the clothes, but for being my friend, and being there for Link when I was not." Mipha felt her eyes widened and she gave a soft smile once the shock wore off "it's never a problem, besides that's what friends do, and from what I learned you needed to heal, and you've finally started." And with that the Zora princess left the room closing the door behind her softly.
Yuki sighed, she was honestly relieved to be removing her bloodstained clothes. She quickly stripped off the outfit before looking at what Mipha had given her and her grey eyes widened, it was a royal blue skirt that flowed down to her feet and a matching top that tied around the neck. She hesitated before she put the clothes on, after all she couldn't travel naked. And she definitely refused to put back on bloody clothes. She looked in a mirror after she had put the clothes on and blushed, the shirt revealed most of her stomach, and shame quickly filled her, her body was scared, a long jagged ugly scary went from the bottom of her ribs down to the beginning of her hip. She honestly hated how she looked. She tried to find a way to cover it and frowned as she realized the only way she was hiding that was with bandages and Link currently had them.
With a groan she put her bloody clothes into her bag and left the room. Feeling several eyes on her she moved faster having already removed her shoes since they didn't really match the outfit. The cool water brushed against her feet as she headed to where Link and Mipha would be waiting. As she got closer she could see Mipha was talking but Link was only halfway listening to her, he was waiting for Yuki as he wanted to start traveling again before it got to late. Once Yuki came into sight did his expression change, his blue eyes lightened a smile formed on his lips and he started heading right to her. The outfit was wonderful on her, and he was so glad he had asked Mipha to make it for her "you look amazing." Yuki blushed and looked away as she kept her arms against her stomach "your shoulder is okay now?" "Yes, Mipha did a wonderful job."
Mipha smiled as she watched them, it was obvious they were in love. She could only hope once this was over that the two would get married. And if she was even luckier maybe she could be an aunt figure to their kids. "The outfit looks great, I'm so glad it fits, Link had asked me to make it but I was worried." Yuki's eyes widened as she looked at link who chuckled. "It's true." He took her bag and placed it over Eien before he saw the scar she was trying to hide. He walked over and gently pulled her arms away from her stomach "you're beautiful, and that scar is as well. Don't hide it Yuki, for its a part of you."
His words seemed to have help her calm down as she lowered her arms. Mipha stared in shock, how did she receive such a horrifying scar. Yuki noticed the look on her face and shook her head and almost like she read her mind she spoke "that is a story for another day. I promise." Mipha nodded "I'll hold you to that." Yuki laughed "anyway, we'll see you soon, at the castle." Mipha nodded with a smile as she watched link lift Yuki onto her own horse this time. "Have a safe trip home, and perhaps one day you'll tell me where you two were traveling too." "I'll tell everyone when we meet up with Zelda." Mipha nodded as she watched link mount Epona. The two turned to leave and Mipha went to head back to her chambers so she could remove the bloody bandages and finally sleep. She looked back once more and her mouth opened in shock, not to far ahead Link had stopped both horses before he leaned over and cupped Yuki's face. She watched as Link gave Yuki a chaste kiss which had left Yuki blushing and looking away.
She waited to feel heartbreak but nothing happened, in fact it didn't hurt. Instead she just felt happy. Link was happy, and so was Yuki, so that was all that mattered to her. Finally the two pulled apart and quickly left Yuki scolding link but she wasn't serious especially since she was giggling. Mipha watched them vanish into the distance before she herself went to her room to retire for the evening.
It was another day or so before they arrived back at their home in Hateno. Link smiled as he was so glad to be back, he could finally sleep in his own bed, and use his own shower, and finally have a proper home cooked meal. Yuki was also relieved but that was because she would finally be able to wear clothes that covered her body completely. As much as links words helped, she was still self conscious about them. As they arrived in front of the house did they both dismount. Link led the horses to their stable tied them to a post then followed after Yuki who was going inside with the intentions of hiding in her room and passing out, she was beyond tired, especially since they decided against stopping for sleep. They took breaks but didn't sleep, they didn't trust it.
Link raised an eyebrow as Yuki went upstairs and into her room. She didn't really think she was sleeping alone did she. He chuckled as he followed her upstairs. Yuki once again stripped being careful of the outfit and put it with the rest of her dirty clothes. She slid on a dark green shirt, and smiled, it was links shirt yet she wore it, she would eventually return it but at the moment it kept her warm and it made her smile. She opened her bag and pulled out her outfit as she checked it over. It was thankfully fixable. She put it in with her dirty clothes and decided to wash it before she sewed it back together. She went to crawl into her bed and lay down when all of a sudden her door open and she found herself being picked up "Link!" He laughed as he ran his hand up her leg before settling it on her back as he carried her to his room "let me go back to my room." She pouted "nope, I like cuddling you."
Yuki blushed as he sat her on his bed, the green shirt rode up a bit revealing her long slender legs and a hint of blue, he blushed and when Yuki realized it she blushed and quickly fixed the shirt "sorry." They said at the same time with caused a fit off giggles "you're adorable." Link said as he sat down next to her easily sliding his arms around her petite waist and pulled her against his chest. She sighed feeling content as she snuggled into his side her head on his shoulder. He smiled down at her as he carefully undid the ribbon allowing Yuki's long hair to pool around her.
He sat back a bit to take in the sight of her and groaned, she was in his shirt yet again and it honestly looked great on her. He leaned forward not even thinking and captured her lips in a hungry and demanding kiss. This shocked her for a moment before she was soon returning it. She tangled her fingers into his hair as one of his hands pressed against her back pushing her closer to him and his other hand was tangled in her hair. He bit her lower lip wanting entrance to her mouth and she refused, he growled against her mouth and tried again only to get the same response. She kept her mouth firmly shut.
Link growled as he pulled back a bit "Yuki." He whispered into her ear pulling a shiver from her. She however shook her head no, she wasn't giving into him that easily. He had to work for the kiss. He scowled before an idea came to mind. He looked at her with a wicked smile and she gulped that smile meant trouble. And soon enough she was on her back with Link kissing her a bit more aggressive then the first few. Slowly he slid his hands under her shirt and rubbed her hips making her shiver before he trailed his hands even higher, he was heading straight for her chest and she squirmed as his cold hands touched her hot skin. He smirked as he neared her breasts, biting her lower lip once more, being denied for the third time he reached up and gently grabbed her breasts making her cry out in surprise. Link took the opening and slid his tongue into her mouth. Yuki moaned as she flicked his tongue with her own and shifted as he gently massaged her breasts making her moan again, she wrapped her legs around him and he moved one hand down to hold her hip as he deepened the kiss. Once they parted for some much needed air did she blush bright red.
Link smiled as he "accidentally" rubbed his hardening member against her covered sex. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she moaned as she yanked his hair. He chuckled as he moved and shifted so she was half on top of him. Her head on his chest and his arms around her waist. "I really love you Yuki." Yuki yawned as she snuggled closer to him, "Yeah, I know....I love you too." His eyes widened this was the first time she said that to him. He placed a gentle kiss to her forehead and smiled "sleep I promise I'll be here when you wake." She nodded and snuggled as close to him as she could before she fell asleep. As she slept he looked down at her and played with her hair. "You're amazing Yuki, I just wish you understood that." He carefully pulled the covers over the two of them as he laid down and turned off the light. Soon enough he was sound asleep holding the one person who honestly meant the world to him. He knew they needed to inform Zelda of what they had learned, but it could wait, it could wait till they were all together, and by all he meant zelda and the champions. And with that last thought he was finally completely asleep.
