As Revali spoke those dreaded words did everyone feel a sense of panic. "Alright, now isn't the time to panic. All champions to your Divine beasts! It's time to stop Ganon in his tracks. Link, Yuki, protect the princess!" And with that they all took off yet Urbosa lingered. "Yuki, try to head to that temple!" And with that Urbosa was gone. Link looked at Yuki and Zelda. "We need to get zelda some place safe and fast." Yuki nodded "safest place i can think of would be a the temple, it's sacred ground his monsters can't touch it."
Link nodded and the three quickly made their way down to Hateno. From there it was the safest path to the temple, especially if they took the path that led to Fort Hateno. They continued traveling as they made sure to watch out for anything that could harm them along the way. The most important thing was keeping Zelda safe and alive. Once they arrived in town did they notice that no one else had realized what was happening. It was only when people started looking up and seeing the purple smoke did they scream in panic.
Link didn't bother stopping. His goal at the moment was to protect the princess and stop Ganon from fully returning. His other goal was to get Yuki to the temple of time like Urbosa had told them to do. Yuki winced as people screamed and started hiding themselves inside their homes, hoping it would keep them safe. It didn't take long before they hit the dirt path, and stopped for a moment to catch their breath. "Where to first?" Link was gasping as he looked at Zelda. "The temple of time. Yuki is right, that place is probably the safest location. It's sacred and Ganon will have a damn hard time trying to even set foot in there." Yuki looked at them both as she quickly pulled them both out of harms way.
Two sets of eyes widened as two arrows were imbedded into the tree behind them. "Sorry to cut this short but we need to move, now!" And with that the three broke off Into a run trying to escape the Yiga member. It wasn't long before they ran into a few guards fighting off monsters. Yet neither link nor Yuki could afford to stop. Zelda felt tears run down her face as she realized she had indeed failed her people. "Keep going!" "Don't stop!" "Protect the princess link!" They heard the guards yelling as they finished off their opponents. Only for more to appear in their place.
Eventually they reached a somewhat safe point as they neared fort Hateno. And that is where they saw members of the sheika tribe waiting for them. "You made it." It was impa who spoke as the three attempted to catch their breath. "Just barely, there were so many monster." Impa grimaced "I'm sure, however I'm afraid, I have even more bad news." Zelda stiffened and Yuki felt dread. Link however kept himself as composed as he could. "First, zelda, your father he's....he's dead. I'm sorry we didn't get there in time." Everyone's eyes widened and Zelda had to keep herself composed. "Next, we've received word, the champions..." "Did they make it?" "Oh they made it to their divine beasts alright, only for them to turn against us, even the guardians have turned against us."
Now Yuki's eyes widened as this was now suddenly a dangerous situation. "No...." "I'm afraid it's true lady Yuki, they've all fallen." At this Yuki felt her heart break. "Ganon...he?" "Yes, we don't know how but, he managed to get control of the beasts and something awful must of been in there as they've all been defeated." Yuki looked away and Zelda hugged herself. Link however was angry, everything they worked for, all went into ruins. "We must Still try to seal Ganon before it gets any worse." Yuki sighed, she could mourn later, and so could the others, for now they needed to quickly retreat to the temple. "Where are you all off too?" "The temple of time, and if we're lucky, whatever Urbosa was thinking might just happen."
Impa nodded "then go, quickly, do not stop for anything." And with that both link and Yuki quickly re-stocked their gear and took off once again. Neither one looked back, Link took the lead and Yuki kept zelda safe from the back. Neither one was risking exposing Zelda to any type of attack. It didn't take long before they had to fight off a few monsters but they made quick work of them. They continued going as fast as physically possible when zelda finally fell to her knees. Both link and Yuki stopped. Yuki stood on guard. Link knelt down in front of zelda a frown on his face. "They're gone. All of our friends, my father, they're all dead." She started crying at this point.
"If only I could have used my powers none of this would have happened." Yuki looked away as she spoke. She herself fighting back tears. But now was not the time. They needed to go. Zelda fell toward into links body and he held her so she could cry. They didn't have long though, monsters could be heard heading in their direction. "I'm sorry princess but we need to go." Zelda nodded as she wiped her eyes and stood. "Let's go." The three were now once again running, trying to go as fast as humanly possible. For Yuki and Link it was no problem, they e been running trails like this they're entire life, but even they had limits and trying to avoid monsters, protect a princess, and fight took a toll on them both.
Eventually Yuki realized that the monsters were now getting closer and in the mix were several guardians, she could hear more screams and she heard the sound of laser being fired, she could smell the smoke and blood in the air, and for a second, she had a flashback on that day, almost 8 months ago. She cringed as she finally stopped running drawing her weapons she turned to face an oncoming group of monsters. "Yuki?! Come on let's go!" It was zelda who noticed that Yuki had stopped. She shook her head. "Our job, is to protect you, you and Link must find the goddess, you must stop Ganon. Leave me behind and go!" Links eyes widened in horror "Yuki, no, I can't leave you."
She turned to look at him "while arguing with me you're wasting precious time. Go defeat Ganon, let me do what I can now. I can buy you some more time. And remember, I promised I would always be with you, well, I don't intend to break that promise today. Now, if you keep waiting you'll lose this chance to escape. Go, and trust in me and my abilities." Zelda tried to protest but link stopped her as he walked over to Yuki. "Give me your hand." She raised an eyebrow but humored him. "I love you, always, through out all of time, my heart will always belong to you."
Her eyes filled with tears that she refused to shed. "And for all of time my heart shall be yours." With that he gave her one last kiss before slipping a simple silver ring onto her finger. "That was suppose to be your promise ring, so you better not lose it understand? Because when this hell is over you can believe I'm properly courting you." zelda was shocked, she didn't know they were that close but none the less she was happy for them. "I won't, now go!" And with that link grabbed Zelda and ran leaving behind the only woman he ever loved. Yuki waited till they were gone before facing the monsters that had now arrived. "Alright you Fuckers, lets end this."
