"Link.....Open your eyes. Hyrule needs you once again." "It's time for you to wake up Link." He groaned as he heard the voice for yet a second time and slowly sat up as the water around him drained away. Looking around he slowly climbed out of the oddly shaped object. Just what the hell had he been laying in? And why was that voice so familiar? "You have been asleep for 100 years Link." His eyes widened as the voice spoke again. How was that possible? And how did this person know him? The only think he was able to remember was his name and his location. However deciding to blindly trust this voice he headed over to the guidance stone. "That is a Sheikah Slate, it will guide you on your journey."
He shrugged his shoulders and simply held onto the slate, turning to face door his eyes widened as if seemingly opened on its own. He walked into the other room carefully looking around, on the floor he saw two chests and shrugged opening them. He looked relieved to see that inside was clothes as he carefully slid the worn pants and shirt before attaching the sheikah slate to his hip. Looking around to make sure he hasn't missed anything else he nodded and walked over to the next guidance stone. "Place your Sheikah slate on the pedestal." He shrugged once again listening to the voice. "Link, you are the light of this world." He squinted as the light came in through the door, and had to look awake for a moment. "And Link, she's waiting for you to find her."
While that confused him, he knew he couldn't stand being inside of this chamber a moment longer. Slowly he made his way out and walked to the edge of the cliff. Stopping just before he fell he looked around.everything seemed peaceful, so what was that voice talking about? And again, who was she? And who was this girl who was waiting for him? As he looked around he noticed a path that led down from his current location and started heading that way. The faster he could figure out where he was, the faster he could start looking for a way out. As he walked he picked up a stick and continued to look around a bit disoriented from his long sleep. As he traveled he noticed an old man sitting under a cliff that hung over head and stopped walking as he approached him. Maybe he could tell him where they where after all.
"Oh, hello, it's rare to have people visit here." Link frowned but other wise said nothing. "Ah, the silent type that's alright, anyway, what are you doing here." Link hesitated before he spoke. "Honestly, I don't know, and I don't even know where I am. I know this is hyrule and my name but other then that." The man nodded, he could now tell the boy had lost his memories. "Ah worry not, we are in the Great Plateau." Link frowned the place did not sound familiar to him at all. "But tell me young man, what are you doing around here with no weapon?" Link frowned, why would he need a weapon? "Why would a need one." "Answering a question with a question hm. Well I suppose it's fair. This place is now crawling with monsters." He looked behind him and sighed "that building over there, was once known as The Temple of Time." Something about that place sounded familiar yet he couldn't figure out why.
The old man looked at him before looking back at the temple. "However over time it slowly fell to this state of ruins. However every now and again, you can still feel it's sacred power." Link nodded "well, be careful out there." Link frowned but walked away heading now towards the temple of time. Along the way he picked up and axe and encountered a few chu chu's and some bokonlins. Making quick work of them he continued onto the temple. He had a few minor bruises but that was it. Slowly he walked up the stairs and found a room that contained a chest, opening it he found another pair of pants and quickly changed out of his ragged ones, thankfully he was now able to put on a pair of boots too. He headed to another room and in this one he found a monster, making quick work of it he picked up a rusted travelers sword and headed up the next flight of stairs heading to the very entrance of the temple.
As he passed by some fallen guardians, most which had rusted as time passed. He killed the last bokoblin and then headed inside. Something was yelling in the back of his head but he couldn't figure out why this place was so familiar. The entire area was covered in grass and in front of him was a statue of a goddess. Shaking his head he walked over and offered a silent prayer before he headed back towards the entrance. He looked around once more taking in the Ruined state before he noticed yet another chest and a few pots, opening the chest he pulled out a travelers bow and found some arrows in the pots he had broken.
Just as he exited the building did he hear the voice again "Link, follow the map on your slate towards the glowing location. That is where you must go next." He shrugged and opened up the slate to reveal a blank map and be groaned this was gonna be fun. He decided to head the way he thought was right. Taking out a few more monsters he finally found something that looked like a guidance stone. Shrugging his shoulders he placed the slate onto the stone he felt the ground rumble. "Sheika tower activated, please watch out for falling rocks."
"What?" His eyes widen as the tower began to shake as it rose up out of the ground, causing link to fall backwards in total shock.
Once that was over and he was sure nothing else was shaking did he slowly stand, and once again put the slate into the guidance stone. "Sheika tower now authorized, extracting regional map." Link watched as a blue drop of some type of water fell onto the slate, it immediately opened to the map and as he took it he saw the map of the Great Plateau appear. "Link, as I've said, you've been asleep now, for over 100 years. Look towards the castle." Link blinked then looked over his eyes widening as he saw a storm of dark purple clouds appeared around the castle before a monster like one he's never seen before appear. Then through all of that a bright glowing light shone through all of the darkness, almost as if it was fighting against the other entity. "That is calamity Ganon, Link, you are hyrule's last hope. For if ganon should ever get free, then it would be the end of the world itself."
Link was shocked into silence when all of a sudden he turned and saw the old man "wha-what how did you get up here?" The old man was looking out at the distance before turning to look at link. "Hm? Would you look at that, towers like this very one have appeared all over hyrule, perhaps as if an old and ancient power has awoken from a long slumber." Link scowled as his question was ignored. "Tell me, did you see the castle." "Yes." "Do you recognize the voice that speaks to you?" "....." "i see, so you have forgotten?" "....." the old man sighed "so it's true, tell me, do you plan to enter the castle?" "I do." His eyes widened "such conviction. However the only way down from here is destroyed, and well trying to jump would most certainly lead to sudden death." Link cringed "how am I suppose to get down then?" He was annoyed, he didn't wanna stay here any longer. He had an objective, save whoever was in the castle.
"If you had a paraglider like mine you could glide down on the winds. However I only have one." "Could I use it?" The old man laughed "at least you didn't demand it." Link shrugged. "However as you are now, going to the castle is suicidal, I'm sure the voice talking to you has already stated, someone is waiting for you to find them." Link frowned, how did he know this? "How do you know all of this?" "Perhaps it is clairvoyance. Look ahead young man, do you see that shrine? Bring me the treasure from there and i will give you my paraglider." He shrugged and started to climb down the tower. Once he got to the bottom did he head over to the shrine. Following his instincts he placed the slate over the stone and watched amazed as the shrine came to live, watching how it opened. He stepped inside and soon he was down below inside of the shrine.
He looked around with wide eyes, how was all of this even down here? As he stepped forward he heard a voice and shivered. "To those who step foot inside I offer you this trial in the name of Goddess Hylia." Link frowned as he walked over and much like before a drop of blue splashed onto his slate and his eyes widened as a magnet like image showed up. "Magnesis?" He took a few moments trying to figure out how to work the rune before trying it out. "I see, so this is a trial." About a half hour later he had acquired the spirit orb. He blinked as he suddenly found himself outside. "Oh ho, it seems you got the treasure." Link nodded yet he wasn't sure how they would trade as the orb had gone inside of him.
"Can I have it now?" "No. I require 3 more orbs." Link growled "that wasn't a part of the deal!" "I never specified how many I would require. Tell you what, meet me on top of the tower and It'll help you find the last three." Link groaned, it was already such a long way down going up would take forever. "You should use that slate of yours. If memory serves me correctly, it can teleport you there. As long as it can act as a travel gate that is" And with that the old man walked away. Link groaned but decided to test that theory out. He opened the map and clicked on the tower, it asked if he wanted to travel there and he shrugged, clicking yes. All of a sudden his eyes widened as he started glowing blue before he vanished.
When he reappeared he was now on top of the tower and the old man was already there. Link was baffled, how bad he gotten up here so fast? Yet for some reason something about that man also didn't sit completely right with him. "Finally here I see. Looks like that ability is true." Link slowly nodded "anyway, use this tower to map out the next three shrines" Link sighed as he used the scope on the slate and then marked those locations on his map. "I will be waiting for you. Once you've acquired all 3 orbs come back to me."
Link wanted to scream but bit his tongue as he descended the tower. The entire ordeal of collecting the orbs took him almost two days, he didn't like how he tired out so easily, he also didn't expect to be shot out by a guardian that seemed as if it should have long been dead. He groaned as he finally finished the last temple now wearing a warm doublet and his hylian trousers. He didn't get 5 feet from the final shrine before he saw the old man. What the hell was he doing here?" "Well done, you've acquired all 4 spirit orbs. You can find me at the spot where the four shrines meet. It's in the form of an X." And with that a green glow appeared around him before he vanished.
Links jaw dropped, what the hell just happened? And why did that man just vanish? Shaking his head he opened the map and looked at all four shrines before he realized he needed to meet him at the temple of time. Link shook his head and quickly headed towards the Temple, again an odd sense of familiarity coursed through him, but he couldn't stop and he had no idea why he felt so safe here. As he walked inside the goddess statue was glowing and he blinked, it hadn't done that before. He walked over to it careful to not touch it or the pedestal he went to offer a silent pray. "To you who have defeated the shrines and gained four orbs I offer a gift, either a heart vessel or a stamina vessel." Link blinked and chose the heart not to sure what else to pick. That's when he heard the old man calling for him.
"I'm glad to see that you've made it here. Quickly climb up here and I will tell you everything you wish to know." Link sighed but none the less found a way to climb up. By the time he got there he was worn out and annoyed by all of this. "You have done well for one with no memories of the past." "Just who are you?" All of a sudden there was a bright glow and instead of being an old man in his place was the spirit of a king. "I am King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. The last ruler of hyrule, a kingdom that no longer exists. In order to help you understand. I shall tell you the story of 10,000 year ago."
Once the story was over Link was shell shocked, all of this had happened before? "It is my daughters voice you hear. She has been waiting 100 years for you to return, you and one other anyway. You two are hyrules last hope. Together you two must work together and save this world. I'm begging you, although I have no right. Please save my daughter link. Save hyrule. My advice is head to kakariko Village, it's just past dueling peak. Be safe" And with that he gave Link the paraglider and vanished. Link sighed and took off. Once he made it to a higher point did he jump. Quickly opening the glider he made his way down to hyrule field. Along the way he activated two more towers, one being central hyrule. He cringed as he remembered all the guardians and how they tried killing him, then dueling peeks tower. He did a few shrines along the way before he arrived at a stable much like the one at riverside, it was here he had managed to get a horse and made his way to kakariko village.
