Link and Yuki had finally decided they were gonna travel back to Kakariko village to see impa. Both had wanted to Lee her updated on their memories and now Link would be able to answer some questions from impa. Yuki however was going to stock up on supplies for when they decide to head back out. Not only did they need to travel to Atinila but they also needed to track down where Akala was located at. "You excited to be heading out to see impa?" She looked over at link and shrugged. "I'm excited to be moving." He laughed "you hate sitting still." "I really do, while yes I would love to see impa, I don't know if this will trigger anymore headaches." He nodded and laced his fingers with her own. Giving him one last smile she squeezed his hand as they continued down the path.
Once they were outside of the town of Hateno and nearing the path that would lead them to Fort Hateno did Yuki and Link mount their respective horses. Heading down the path they looked around making sure no monsters were nearby. Neither one wanted to fight, both were finally recovered from their battle with waterblight ganon but again, any unnecessary fighting should be avoided. As the two made their way to Dueling Peeks Stable. Deciding to not stop this time around they passed right by it and continued heading towards Kakariko Bridge. However just as they crossed it did they stop as a man wearing normal travel gear waved at them. "Hey, can you two help me?" Yuki looked at link and he shrugged as he dismounted.
"What's the matter?" The guy had smiled as he watched them dismount, yet for some reason they seemed familiar. Especially the girl. She had this long black hair, and unusual grey eyes, yet he couldn't see everything, her clothing prevented it, and so did the cloak she wore. However what stood out the most was the earrings, both were sapphire, and he only knew one person who had them. But she was dead, so perhaps he was just paranoid. Yuki felt the eyes on her and looked over the man. Eyes that looked as if they were once brown, now held a red tint to them, and hair that was clearly once black was now a deep silver color and it made Yuki shiver. For some reason this man didn't make her feel safe. In fact he put her completely on edge.
"What did you need help with?" She repeated Link's question as she crossed her arms. "Oh right, I'm a bit lost, I was trying to find my way to Atinila." At that Yuki froze. Atinila wasn't easily heard of, especially since it was in ruins. "Why do you want to go there?" The man looked at Yuki and frowned, what made her so hostile all of a sudden. "I want to see it's ruins, especially the ancient ones." At that Yuki raised an eyebrow and looked at Link. "We can not help you." The man sighed "why not?" "Because it's suicidal to go there." The man went to speak but link pulled Yuki away at this point. "Listen to what she says and give it up, go stay at a stable. Let's go Yuki." The man's he's widened "Yuki?" Yuki froze at the way her name was spoken and turned to look at the man.
"Yes, that's my name." The man clenched his fists "Yukina of Atinila." Now Link was frowning as he watched the man "how the hell do you know all of that?" "You should have been dead" Yuki blinked "excuse me?" "You, should be dead. How are you alive?!" Yuki frowned "I don't know you. I have no idea what you're talking about." The man was glaring as he started pulling out a sword "the Yuki I know, she would be dead." Yuki frowned "you clearly have the wrong woman" Link drew his own sword "stand down, now." The man hesitated before putting away his sword. "Perhaps you're right and I have the wrong Yuki. Or perhaps," before either link or Yuki could respond the guy vanished and the next thing link knew is Yuki screamed as her side was sliced open. "Yuki!" The guy laughed "that's the Yuki I knew, that scream gives it all away." Yuki held her now bleeding side and glared. "Gai." It was a single name but the man grinned "the one and only. Now, I think I'll do ganon a favor and kill both you and Link."
"Over my dead body." And with that Yuki drew her sword and swung catching Gai off guard as she sliced his arm "son of a bitch!" He glared at Yuki who had now discarded her cloak and got Into a fighting stance. "I'll kill you." "I'd like to see you try." And with that the two moved, swords clashing over and over again. Link was stunned into silence as he watched with horror filled eyes as Yuki went for another strike. Watching as she hit her mark and sliced Gai's shoulder open he relaxed until she grimaced. Gai had managed to injure her in turn. "You're weaker." "No, you're just arrogant like always." Gai glared as he went to punch her this time, Yuki however blocked it and dropped her own sword. And soon it was a hand to hand fight, each person getting in several good bits.
"Yuki watch out!" Yuki looked up and jumped back just in time as Gai had retrieved his sword. Yuki grabbed hers and ran, she leaned backwards and slid down swinging up she sliced at Gai who howled in pain and vanished into a poof of smoke.
Link ran over and helped Yuki up and quickly started checking her for injuries "did you kill him?" "No, it was deep but not enough to kill him." He nodded and made her look at him "who the fuck was he?" "I'm not sure, all I can remember is the game Gai. And whatever he did, he did over 100 years ago." Link frowned. "He mentioned ganon." Yuki nodded "I have a feeling that's why he's still alive. He probably made a pact with him. Okay i know you wanted to rest but we need to head to Atinila as fast as possible." He sighed "I know, we'll head to impa and le you heal yourself first." Yuki nodded "already working on that." He watched as he healed herself and then helped her up onto Kiro. Once that was done he mounted his own horse. "Let's go. And let's see if we can't find out why Gai has such a grudge against the two of us." Yuki nodded and the two headed right for Kakariko.
Upon arriving did the two dismount and make their way up the stairs. Several people were shocked, Yuki was covered in blood and link looked down right angry. "What happened?" It was impa who spoke as soon as Link and Yuki entered and closed the door. Yuki didn't even hesitate she quickly told impa what had happened and impa grimaced. "While I'm happy to hear you two have reclaimed your memories, or at least some of them, I am not happy to hear that someone's from Yuki's past is alive. And now attempting to kill her." Link wrapped an arm around Yuki and kept her close to him. "Stay with me." Yuki shrugged "I'll go get supplies, fill impa in on what else is happening. We need as much as we can so we can fast travel." He nodded not happy at needing to let her go but let her go none the less. Watching as she left the house he turned to him. "You were curious last time about why Yuki and I were so close correct?" "Yes that is correct." "It's because we were no are a couple." Impa smiled "that explains a lot. And the ring?" "Pretty sure I gave it to her. Why and when I don't recall and she doesn't either." "Well it'll come back in time. When you recall that or anymore of your memories return to me. Now go, chances are she's almost done, and you two really need to get going to Atinila. Travel inside this time, farther then last time, tell Yuki to follow her instincts and it'll lead you to where you need to go." Link nodded and he left intending to find Yuki and leave. "Goddess, keep them safe. They are our last hope."
Link quickly found Yuki and wrapped an arm around around her. "You ready to go?" "Yes, finishing a few more things and we can go." He nodded and helped her finish getting their supplies. "Horses stay, we're fast traveling. So hold on tight." She nodded and wrapped her arms around him as they vanished into a blue light.
