It had been a few days since Link and Yuki left Hateno and now they were on the path that they hoped would lead them to Zora's domain. Thankfully link activated some shrines along the way and it wasn't long until they saw a tower in the distance. Letting out a sigh of relief did Link smile back at Yuki. "It looks like we should be on the right path after all." She smiled as he said that and nodded her head. "That's great. It's hard to navigate with no map." He nodded in complete agreement. "Very true but we've also been making some real good time as well." She laughed yet it wasn't full of her normal joy. Oh no, she was still heavily blaming herself for a lot of stuff. Such as hurting Link. So to avoid hurting him again she decided that keeping her distance from him was best.
Link sighed "so, when are you gonna stop avoiding me?" She blinked confused "avoiding you?" "Mhmm. You've been very distant since that day. While you've let me cuddle you to keep the nightmares away the second morning rolls around you're back to avoiding me. It's like you keep me away from you." She blinked and silently cursed his observant nature. "Yuki, whatever happened that day it's fine. It's over with and we fixed it. But pushing me away once you wake up, keeping me at an arms length isn't fair. Punishing yourself for something you think you did wrong also isn't fair to you. Especially since I forgave you."
She sighed as he spoke and looked ahead so she didn't have to meet his ever watching eyes. "Looking away from me isn't getting you out of this conversation. I will stop our horses and make you look at me." She cringed knowing he would do just that. So she eventually looked over at him only to freeze up as he grabbed her arm forcing her horse to stop as well. "Talk to me Yuki, because honestly, I'm tired of the endless cold shoulder. You talk to me, but it's clipped, like you're holding yourself back. You need to trust me." She sighed "I know that. And I do trust you." He snorted and she raised an eyebrow "I trust you, honestly. I just don't trust me. I'm going into everything blindly if we're honest. I'm going with what feels right." He rolled his eyes "and keeping me away, and avoiding me unless you've had a nightmare feels right?" She shifted as he brought that up.
"Well...no, actually it hurts. Like I'm trying to push away a part that completes me you know?" He reaches over and cupped the side of her face. "Then stop avoiding me Yuki. Because honestly it hurts me as well. And it's evidently killing a part of you. So, let me in Yuki. Trust me, trust yourself. Lean on me when things get to much for you to carry alone." She blinked and had to fight back an urge to cry. "I will, I'm sorry." He gave her a soft smile "that's all I ask." Leaning over he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, which oddly enough completely calmed her down. Smiling now that the two had fixed whatever was going on between them the two finally continued towards the tower.
Once they arrived Yuki decided she was going to stay on the ground and link shrugged. "Suit yourself. But you have sharper eyes so you can probably use the scope to map out the best trails to take." She laughed "someone just doesn't wanna be alone." "You're absolutely right, now get your skinny self climbing." She rolled her eyes and playfully pushed him. He chuckled "rude." "Never said I was kind~" And with that she started climbing. He quickly followed right after. After a good twenty to thirty minutes of climbing, with breaks in between did they reach the top. Yuki sat against one of the pillars while link activated the tower.
It didn't take long for the new location to appear on the map and link walked over pulling her up to her feet. "Alright, use the scope and the map and see what you find." She nodded and that's when link realized they weren't alone. He motioned for her to do what she needed to do while he spoke to the Zora who was there. "Oh! Hello, you're Hylian right? You must be with those pointy ears. Anyway, see that bridge over there?" Link nodded and at this point Yuki had joined them as she studied the bridge. A frown appearing over her features. "It's raining a lot." Link nodded, they would end up needing to leave behind their horses, no point in trying to make them struggle on that trip.
"Anyway, I suggest that you two go and meet the Prince. Meanwhile I'm going to try and find a safe way down." Yuki raised an eyebrow "seriously, just jump into the water." "You see, I would, but, I'm afraid of heights." Yuki facepalmed and link groaned. "Wonderful. Anyway, Yuki we might need to back track a bit. I don't feel comfortable leaving the horses out for monsters to attack them." Yuki nodded in agreement as link opened the map. "You two be safe. And I'll see you at the domain!" Link nodded and wrapped his arm around Yuki as they traveled to the shrine that was closest to the horses. The pair easily mounted them and beaded back towards wetland stable.
Once the pair had put their horses away for the time being did they finally set back out on foot. But not before Link decided to talk to Beedle and sell some items and buy some much needed arrows. Yuki cringed at the mans cheerful attitude and link raised an eyebrow. That's when beetle noticed her and smiled "oh! Hello again!" Yuki groaned as she hid behind Link. He had to fight back a laugh, this woman had faced off against guardians, moblins and more and yet she did not like Beedle. "What's the matter? Is she okay?" Link chuckled "She's alright, tired, cranky, and all together just not very people friendly at the moment." Beedle nodded claiming he understood her pain.
Biting back a groan did Yuki tug on link. "Come on, we need to go." He laughed "you're so impatient Yuki." She rolled her eyes and left the stable link saying a quick goodbye before chasing after his now fuming partner. "Awe come on Yuki, that was absolutely cute. But why don't you like him?" She sighed as she told him what happened when she first started out and he actually felt bad for her. She literally didn't know anything, she was doing everything on instinct or what she was told to do. And talking to Beedle seemed to have been a bit much to soon. Especially since he is quite hyper and that might have been a bit to much for her to comprehend.
"You're honestly adorable. But I see now why you act like that. I keep forgetting, while I remembered where I was, and who I was you didn't. You went off of what you were told. Or what felt right." Yuki looked at him as he spoke. Not even thinking about this he held her hand in his own. "You were brave for even heading to Kakariko. Brave with so much. Beedle might be a bit much at times but he's harmless." "I know he is. But again, you weren't lying. I am tired, and I'm definitely not a people person, I like to keep to myself. I've let you in, but we knew each other. And from what I've recalled, we we're close. How close I don't know. Beedle how ever I met when I was literally not even awake a full day." He nodded as he tightened his grip.
"Honestly, it's hard to trust. With the blank sensation i feel, to the awful headaches, to wishing I had answers to all of these questions." He just listened as they continued their Journey back to where they came from. They could have teleported but he liked letting Yuki speak her mind. "I'm trying to let people in, but does he really have to be so hyper? It's not normal." He cracked up at this. "I don't know, but do you feel better now?" She blinked, and then gave him a gentle smile as she realized he let them walk so she could finally get all of this off her chest. "Yes, thank you, if you wanna fast travel now we can."
"Nah, I like this, I like taking my time, talking to you, getting to see what goes on in that head of yours." She faintly blushed and he found himself staring at her. She had this carefree look about her, an unearthly Beauty as they walked past rivers and trees, hell even a fox or two ran past them just to brush against her legs and run off. She had this kind and loving aura, and even with no memories she was fierce, she had this ability to command respect from someone. Even if she wasn't aware of it. For someone with no memory she was the kindest soul you could ever hope to meet. She loved purely from the looks of it. She gave freely, such as when she gave her food to a child at the stable. She offered advice to someone who was in a bind. Honestly she was something else. Yet she had a serious side. She could go from loving and gentle to quick and deadly in the snap of your fingers.
She was defiantly loyal to Link, and to finding and rescuing the princess. He smiled as he looked into her stormy grey eyes. That was another thing that captivated him about her. Her eyes were so many colors of grey. Often times he wondered if they were once blue since every now and again they would lighten up and almost seem as if they were blue. "Are we done staring?" Yuki had asked as she broke him from his thoughts. Chuckling he brushed her hair away from her face. "Yeah, I was just taking in some stuff about you, noticing a few things that honestly, I'm amazed by." She raised an eyebrow and he explained how he saw her. No not all of it but he spoke of how he noticed the way she cared, how she made sure he ate even if she didn't right away. How she made sure his back was protected.
Yuki blushed as he finally finished and covered her face with her hands. Only for him to make her look at him again. "Honestly Yuki. You are simply amazing and I wouldn't want to travel with anyone else." She smiled at him "I'm glad I got to meet you Link, again anyway. I'm glad that we have this chance to learn about each other. While I'm not much help. It's fascinating to me because all of what we do now, feels as if we've done this all before." He nodded in agreement as the two continued on. Killing a few monsters along the way did they finally reach Indigo bridge. As they prepared to cross did Yuki notice the dark rain clouds reform and it was literally only over this area.
Link scowled as he pulled his hood up and Yuki followed suit. "Whatever you do, stay close to me." Yuki laughed "shouldn't I say that to you?" He chuckled "you're a brat." "Yeah, I know you are." He raised an eyebrow at her before he poked her "real mature Link." He laughed. "Come on Yuki. Let's go see this Zora Prince." And with that they headed across the bridge.
