The Missing Goddess

Entering Vah Ruta

   As Sidon approached Vah Ruta did Yuki notice it was creating giant blocks of ice "Link!" He looked up and his eyes widened "you focus on your task, I'll handle the ice." He nodded and went to hand her the slate but saw her pulling out her bow and arrows "Yuki?" She aimed at the ice "it's alright, it'll at least buy some time." They both knew however that the bow wouldn't survive this battle. She aimed at the ice and released one of her arrows, and quickly notched another and released, this continued till all 5 were destroyed and Sidon helped link fly into the air. Notching his own shock arrow he let it fly into his target and aimed for a second one. The second one missed and he cursed as he started to lose altitude. Quickly using the paraglider he caught and updraft and aimed the second arrow. This time it hit the target and Link fell right back into the water.
     Yuki helped Link back onto Sidons back and gave her a lopsided smile. "Thanks." "You're welcome." Again they noticed that Vah Ruta was once again creating more blocks of ice, however, this time there were ten and at least five of them were spiked balls. "Oh for fucks sakes." Link looked at her not use to hearing her curse. "Someone has a potty mouth." She glared as she shot an arrow past his face into a block that was flying right towards him. Link gulped as that was a bit close for comfort. Aiming now at the one behind them she released another arrow. Feeling her bow weaken under her grip she gulped, this was the last block of ice and unfortunately also her last chance, her bow would not be able to survive this last attack. Notching the arrow she steadied her aim and released it at the same time her bow shattered in her hands and he saw the sadness, she had that bow since he got it for her in Hateno. Rubbing her back in a silent form of comfort "we'll get you a new one."
    Sidon once again threw link into the air and he once again shot out both of the glowing points on Vah Ruta causing her to stop her torrential downpour of rain. Watching as link landed in the water for a second time did Yuki help him back out. "You two did great. Now, let's get you on Vah Ruta, is Yuki coming with you?" "She is." Yuki nodded as they finally got close enough for them to get on. Link carefully helped Yuki onto the platform and held her steady as she got accustomed to her legs again. "Good luck you two, and remember, everyone is counting on you. I'll see you both when you return." And with that ruta rose back up onto her legs and Sidon swam away. "I knew you would come. Link, Yuki, it's so good to see you both again. In order to regain control of Vah Ruta you'll need a map. The guidance stone will give you the information on Ruta"
    Yuki looked at link before she smiled. It had been so long since she had heard Mipha's voice. "Well, what are we waiting for?" He chuckled as the two went inside. Easily accessing the map and taking out a guardian scout or two did the pair make their way through the rest of the dungeon. Upon finding a terminal they couldn't quite access did Link frown. "How do we get to that one?" Yuki tapped her chin as she thought about it. It was high up inside of a wheel and locked by a gated door. "Can i see that slate?" He shrugged and handed it to her. Watching as she opened the scope he kept an eye on her. Making sure nothing could sneak up on them, and looking for malice. That shit was nasty if he was honest. He recalled as he accidentally touched it and it burned his hand. Yuki had healed them but they both learned not to touch it.
    Studying the way the wheel was Yuki realized it wasn't turning. "The wheel doesn't move." Link raised an eyebrow. "It doesn't move?" "No, so I wonder." Opening the map to Ruta she looked at the controls before adjusting the way the nose moved, moving it up to the 4th one at the very top. Link blinked as ruta let out a scream and his eyes widened as water all of a sudden started pouring down onto the wheel. "Now, we can use that to get to the top and from there we should be able to use Stasis and freeze the ball into its lock. You'll only have a few moments to get in and access the terminal though."
   Link blinked as he listened to what she said and he was amazed at how quickly she thought that out and formed a plan. Not even thinking he grabbed her face with both hands and kissed her soundly on the lips. "You're a genius." Yuki was blushing but pushed him back a bit "yeah, you can thank me later. Now get up there and from here I'll freeze the ball." He nodded as he got on the other side of wheel and climbed onto a ledge. Holding on as it moved it's way up he carefully jumped down onto the ledge below and Yuki aimed the slate. As it was at a half way point did she freeze the ball using stasis. "Link, now!" He nodded and quickly jumped in through the now open gate and activated the third terminal. "Good job you two, now only two terminals remain. Good luck." Link flew down to where Yuki was and she handed him back the slate with a smile. "You did great." He chuckled "yeah sure, because you figured everything out." Shrugging the two made their way back up and Link activated a waterfall. "Alright, the next one i can see is located on the nose." Link blinked "how the hell are we getting that one?" Yuki frowned as she studied the layout from the door. "Lower her nose all the way down." He shrugged but did as he was told. "Now the tricky part." He blinked "we walk across towards that ledge and then raise her back up to where we can access the terminal." He groaned "you're something else." She blinked "then I'll go." "What?" "I'll walk across and activate it." "Hell no, we go together."
     She laughed "alright, alright." Carefully they walked across and Link helped Yuki climb up first and held her hand as she raised the nose back up. Activating the terminal did the two jump and paraglideded over to the top of ruta where the final terminal was located. "Ready?" He chuckled "only if you are." She smiled "see ya down there." "What?" And with that she jumped down. Link felt his heart stop but was relieved to see she landed safely before jumping after her. As Yuki once again found a way to let the water hit the flames did Link smile. This was the last terminal before he could activate the main control unit and hopefully take back control of Vah Ruta.  
     Once Yuki moved Ruta's nose and stopped the downfall of water did Link walk over and activate the last terminal. "That was the last terminal, now you can go and activate the main control unit. Best of luck." The two looked at each other and nodded before the pair jumped back down into the water below them. Before they walked into the main control area did they check their supplies, they were a bit low but it would make due. They were so close to completing their task. "Alright, lets go." Yuki nodded "and be prepared for anything." Taking her hand he led her into the room and placed the Sheikah slate onto the terminal. Just before he could activate it however did a dark red and purple ooze come out of it and started forming into a monster. Link pushed Yuki behind him and drew his sword just as the monster finished forming and let out an ungodly shriek.
