Yuki looked over at Link before she turned her attention back towards the Elder. "Daruk?" "Yes, he was the champion of the Goron's, however he fell over 100 years ago to the calamity. Actually all of the champions did. It was a sorrowful day for all races." Yuki frowned as he spoke. "Look behind you, at the top of that mountain is the great Daruk. His only living blood descendant is Yunbo, and even someone as scrawny as him is able to use Daruk's protection." Yuki watched as Link stared up at the carving of Daruk. She watched as his eyes glazed over and she knew he was now in The midst of a memory, one that would explain to him who Daruk was. Looking at the elder once more she saw he was still talking about Daruk.
Turning to keep an eye on Link she grimaced, her head was starting to throb, like the beginning form of a headache was coming. Mumbling to herself she rubbed her temples. Trying to refocus herself and her thoughts she turned towards the elder. He looked over as he noticed neither one was really speaking now, and that's when he noticed Yuki was clutching her head. "Ma'am? Are you alright?" Yuki tried to speak, but the pounding in her head only increased. Gasping in pain she clutched her head with both hands as she attempted to try and calm down. "It....hurts....." "what hurts?" He was alarmed, he had never seen a Hylian appear to be in so much pain. However she didn't get to speak. It felt like she had a lump in her throat. "Little one, it hurts doesn't it? Knowing you're so close to a memory, yet you can't access it." Yuki's eyes narrowed as she heard the voice of the woman yet again. "Allows me to help you little one. Or the pain you're feeling now is going to increase until you can't stand it anymore. Allow me to help you unlock the memories you're so desperately reaching for"
Yuki grimaced as her head only felt worse, perhaps the voice could help. Before she was even able to agree her eyes glazed over and the pounding of her head seemed to have eased up. "It's alright, I'm simply helping you. If I was to let you sit there in all that pain, well, I'm not sure how that would effect you later. Now, remember, remember the Goron Champion Daruk."
*flash back*
Yuki was sitting down on top of Rudania listening to Link and Daruk talk about how Link was finally knighted. Daruk was even congratulating him on finally having the guts to finally start dating Yuki. Yuki blushed as she looked back over at the town that was down below them. She didn't notice Link had walked over to her until he helped her stand up. "Link? What's the matter?" He frowned as he led her over to Daruk. "I don't want you sitting that close to the edge." Yuki blinked before she shrugged, he had been overly protective, especially since the events at the temple of time when she flew back into the wall. "Anyway Link, you should really let zelda know it's not her fault, we don't know what's eventually going to awaken her power." With that he turned to Yuki to continue his thoughts "death mountain sure is peaceful today isn't it?" Yuki nodded as Link looked around. "What the?" Several pairs of eyes widened as two boulders came crashing down. Daruk quickly moved in front of both link and Yuki and slammed his fists together as he activated Daruks protection. The rocks shattered on impact and Yuki sighed in relief. Like quickly looked over at her to make sure she wasn't hurt.
"That was unusual. Anyway, I hope you two can get along with the princess, and Yuki?" She looked over at Daruk, a blank expression on her face. "Don't feel so bad about the temple, like Urbosa I'm still sure it's you, no one else can be the goddess in my mind." Yuki gave him a soft smile as she nodded, yet she doubted it. She had failed at the temple, even though it clearly responded to her. "You two have a safe trip home. And I can't wait to see you both get married once this hell is officially over with. You two are officially family to us Goron's." "Thanks Daruk. We'll see you next time we're in the area, hopefully it'll be before we have to hit the road again." He laughed as he clapped Link on the back. Links eyes widened as he stumbled forward and Yuki had to bite her lip to suppress a giggle. Link waved bye to Daruk and Yuki simply offered him a smile as the two turned to leave.
*end of flashback*
"Do you remember now little one? The champions all had faith in you and Link, it was devastating the day they had fallen in battle." Yuki groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. The voice had chosen now to speak and honesty, her head was still in some pain. She looked around and saw she was in Links arms, a worried expression easily seen in his eyes. With a groan she slowly sat up and he helped her keeping her steady. "What happened?" Even the Goron Elder seemed to be worried about her. "Did she faint from
the heat?" Yuki looked at link with a grimace and he realized she would tell him later what had occurred. "I'm alright, my head just started to hurt and the next thing I know is I was blacking out." The Goron elder frowned as he handed her a fireproof elixir. "Take this, it might help, not for the head but for this awful heat we're experiencing." Yuki took the elixir knowing she wouldn't really need it but it would also be rude to refuse it.
"Anyway, I'll have to tell Yunbo we can't do it today." Yuki frowned and looked at link who nodded, they themselves would be heading up the mountain to deal with Rudania. There was no need for innocent people to get hurt by this after all. Link took Yuki's hand and led her off to the bridge of Eldin where Yunbo could be found. "Little one, I'm sorry for the pain your head is feeling. And I'm equally as sorry that I can not be of more use. Tell me, have you felt anything unusual happen to yourself lately?" "Huh?" Link raised an eyebrow as Yuki spoke aloud. "Yuki? Who the hell are you talking to?" She blinked as she realized she said that allowed as the voice laughed. She blushed and looked away mumbling to herself about stupid voices and annoying questions.
Link blinked before he understood what had happened. "Ah, the voice again huh. What she do this time?" Yuki scowled as she told him, she even told him about the memory she relived. Link nodded having had a similar memory to Yuki's. Helping her scale her way up to the bridge he looked around to make sure they weren't being followed. "Little one, you didn't answer my question." Yuki scowled as she mentally thought out the word no. The voice sighed but soon fell silent. As they walked up towards the bridge they heard someone yelling. Yuki's eyes widened as she recognized the scream. "Yunbo!" Links eyes widened as he ran off after Yuki. "Yuki wait up!" Yuki however only increased her speed, drawing her sword she ran right for the black moblin that was trying to harm Yunbo. Swinging her sword vertically she slashed at the moblin causing it to scream in pain.
Link didn't hesitate he quickly went after the second one before it could even touch her or Yunbo. "Get rid of them please!" Yuki nodded as she continued to deflect the attacks. "Little one" Yuki grimaced as she ignored the voice, now wasn't the time to have a conversation with it. "Little one, I can help. I can't do much, but I can slow down the monster." Yuki shook her head and jumped back just as the monster swung down. Feeling her back press against a rock her eyes widened as the moblin was now over her. "Yuki!" Link and Yunbo both yelled as they saw what was about to occur. In a moment of panic Yuki pressed back against the wall and kicked it in the gut knocking it backwards. Raising her sword she relaxed her stance. Waiting for the moment monster would lounge forward. And sure enough it did exactly what she thought it would do. Links eyes widened in horror as he realized he wouldn't make it in time. Yet to his immediate relief Yuki ran her sword right through it causing it to scream as it turned into purple smoke.
Feeling her shoulders slump in relief she slid down to the floor. For as much as she's fought these creatures being corned by them still drew out a sense of fear. Link ran over with a Yunbo right behind him. Falling to his knees he pulled her into his arms and held her. "Goddess Yuki, I thought it was going to get you for a moment." She rubbed his back in a faint attempt to sooth him. "I did to, I'm sorry I worried you like that." He shrugged as he stood and pulled her to her feet. "You alright?" It was yunbo who asked her and she softly smiled. "I'm alright, are you two alright?" "Oh yeah, we're fine, we were more worried about you." Yuki nodded as she told Yunbo what the elder had said and he sighed. "Don't worry, we're going to stop Rudania." Yunbo's eyes widened as he grinned. "Then I'll help too. I have to do my part after all." Yuki looked to Link and he shrugged. "Then we'll keep you safe." He smiled and Yunbo soon jumped into the canon. Link slid the bomb into the opening and Yuki hit the switch. Once it was lined up at the gate did Link detonate the bomb sending Yunbo flying through the air and fight into the bridge, with a clanging sound the bridge fell and opened up the path to death mountain. "We did it goro, now we can enter the mountain." Link and Yuki nodded and soon made their way across the bridge with Yunbo right behind them. They only stopped as Rudania let out a scream and Yuki's eyes widened. "Sentries...." Link grimaced and Yunbo paled. "Alright, we need a strategy." And with that link turned to look at Yuki who was still staring at the road ahead. "Yuki?" "Shh, I'll have it planned out in less then 20 minutes." He smirked as he sat down waiting for her to finish strategizing. "Uhh shouldn't we help?" "Nope, she's got this. She's the best at strategic planning." Yunbo nodded and went silent watching as Yuki quickly mapped some stuff out and frowned as she tried to find the fastest and safest way past them. True to her word 15 minutes later she had a strategy and she would add to it as they advanced inside. "Alright, I got it so listen closely cause I'm only going over this once."
