"It's time to wake up Yuki, it's time, to open your eyes." A voice echoed in her head as slowly the top of the item she was in opened. Dark grey eyes had opened at the same time and the expression the girl wore was one of confusion. Who was Yuki? And who was talking to her? Slowly she sat up and groaned as she felt her bones crack back into place. She looked around, just where the hell was she? "Yuki, I am so glad to see you're awake. I was so worried, that you had died." Yuki was still confused as she assumed that her name was what the voice was calling her.
She wanted to talk but she realized she was alone, she already felt insane because she was hearing voices. "It's time for you to go Yuki, head to kakariko village, there, he is waiting." As the voice spoke to her she watched as the chamber opened. While it was opening she found some worn clothes and put them on, not liking her half naked state. She looked down at her arm and saw an angry looking scar, and two more, one being on her stomach, going from the bottom of her ribs to the top of her left hip. Another one lingered on her side. She wondered where else she had these scars. And just how did she get them?
As she left the chamber she realized she had absolutely no idea where she was, yet she could tell she was near a village. So she followed the path that led there. A man was guarding the entry and blocked her. "Who are you?" Yuki was shocked as she backed away from the pitch fork wielding man, "I...I don't know....I don't even know where i am." She was absolutely terrified though. The man frowned and lowered his weapon. "You don't know anything?" She slowly shook her head no "nothing, I woke up....in a cave like place, with absolutely no memory." The man frowned again "do you know at least where you need to go?" He was now worried, especially since the girl admitted to having little to no memory.
"Kakariko village." She decided against telling him she was hearing voices and the man nodded. "You see the dirt path behind you?" She nodded yes. "Follow that, don't stray, it'll take you to a place called Fort Hateno. That's where you are now by the way, Hateno village." Yuki nodded. "Anyway, follow that down to a place called dueling peeks stable and from there you go right, it'll take you up to Kakariko Bridge, from there it's a straight shot into the next village okay?" Yuki processed what he was saying before nodding. "Yes, thank you, I can remember that." The man smiled "oh wait, you aren't armed." "Armed?" He sighed she really didn't have a memory of anything. "I don't know if you know this lady, but this area is now crawling with monsters, a 100 years ago this land was peaceful till some terrifying monster rose from Hyrule Castle and destroyed everything."
Yuki's eyes widened in horror. Yet she couldn't recall any of this. "Since then most folks avoid traveling unless they carry weapons." "I see, how can I get a weapon?" The man laughed "here i have a travelers sword, take it, it's old but it works pretty well." Yuki took then weapon he held out to her and she carefully strapped it onto her back, she did it with such ease that the man was baffled "while you have no memory it seems like you've done this before." Yuki shrugged not sure of this at all. "I...thank you for your help."
"That's my job, besides us Hylians we have to stick together." Yuki again shrugged as she started walking the way he told her. "Be careful! I hope I see you again!" She waved back as she kept walking, if she paced herself right, perhaps she could make it before nightfall. As she walked she took in the scenery, she wanted to be able to identify for herself her exact location. Incase she ever needed to backtrack to that village. As she walked she saw what the man had been talking about, monsters, they were everywhere, yet most weren't paying attention so she carefully snuck past them. She didn't feel confident enough to try fighting so many on her own.
As she got away a single monster took notice of her and charged straight for her. Her eyes widened, she didn't know what kind of monster it was. She couldn't even tell it was an orange bokoblin. She drew her sword just in time to deflect the first swing. Her eyes widened and she trembled from the force. For some reason she felt so weak. Yet she pushed forward with all that she could and knocked it backwards. The monster yelled and she cursed, goddess forbid anymore showed up to help the other. Almost as if instinct was guiding her did she swing sideways a vertical slice, she watched as it cut the monster and she realized it was to shallow.
Again she blocked a blow wincing as she felt a rock hit her shoulder. Glaring at the monster she raised her sword above her head and swung down killing it in one quick blow. The monster vanished into a puff of purple smoke and she was panting. What the fuck was going on? She shook her head the faster she got to her location the faster she could hopefully get some answers. Quickly going down the path she headed straight for a giant wall that was basically in ruins. Shock filled her being, this was Fort Hateno. She wondered what could have caused so much damage but didn't have time to linger. She even ignored the man sleeping near the gate.
She walked out into a field and looked around. All around her where these weird machine like structures and she shivered, a bad feeling forming in her gut. She didn't even think, she just ran. As she ran she noticed a few monster camps and slowed down crouching behind one of the weird machines she quickly caught her breath, listening to make sure none had headed her way. Once she felt like she was safe did she slowly move fo the next one. This continued for a good 20 minutes before she saw the area was clear and she ran. Upon arriving at dueling peeks stable did she notice several people. A few looked at her bewildered by her appearance and figured she was new at this.
Yuki ignored the looks as she spoke to the stable man who also happened to own the inn. "So yes, the directions you were given were right indeed. It's faster on horse back." Yuki frowned, she didn't have a horse and had no idea on how to tame one. The man saw the confusion and chuckled but was silenced by a dark glare. "Right sorry, didn't mean to upset you. Anyway to do so and register it here, you'll need to pay 20 rupees. Yuki sighed she had no idea what that was and the man thought it was just because she didn't have enough. "That man over there, the one with the giant backpack, sell some stuff and he'll give you rupees for it."
She shrugged and figured she had nothing to lose as she walked over to him. "Hello~ my name is beedle, how can I help you ma'am." Yuki blinked, how was someone so...hyper? "I...want to sell." "excellent! What would you like to sell?" 20 minutes later she had sold most of the gems she had found and some monster parts she grabbed on impulse and she found herself with over 1000 rupees. "Come again!" She cringed, praying to god she never needed to go to him again. She went out to a field and looked around before her eyes settled on a beautiful brown horse. Remembering what the stable owner told her did she carefully and quietly approach it. The horse looked up and Yuki cursed, she really didn't want to chase the thing. So she held out an apple wondering what would happen.
The horse watched her for a moment before taking the apple from her hand. She smiled softly "you liked that huh boy? Would you like another?" The horse nodded it head and she giggled feeding it yet another one. Once she was sure the horse wouldn't run did she attempt to climb up. The horse froze but relaxed, she wasn't yanking on its mane, actually she was trying really hard to not harm it. Once she was seated did she rub his neck "good boy, I'll give you another apple soon okay?" The horse let out a noise as she took as sign of agreement before she turned and gently urged him towards the stable.
The man out front of it was shocked, he had been watching her, making sure she didn't get hurt, especially since she seemed lost, he panicked when the horse saw her. Fearing for the worst he was about to run over and help when he saw her feed it an apple. She fed it another as she carefully mounted the horse. Never before had he seen something so beautiful, or so touching. Not even the dirty blonde male who was here previously. It was like she was a natural. She carefully dismounted careful to not harm her new friend she registered him at the stable with the name Kiro.
And true to her word she fed him another apple as she adjusted both saddle, bridle and the reigns before climbing back up. "Thanks for helping me!" "Of course! Come again!" And with that Yuki finally left. It didn't take long before she found the bridge the man was talking about. Looking around she didn't really see any monsters so she urged her horse to move a bit faster. She didn't want to tire the poor thing out to fast. She saw a woman looking around and trembled, something about her wasn't right. So she avoided her. The woman watched her with a curious intent but didn't pursue her.
As she finally arrived in Kakariko did she slow Kiro to an almost complete stop. Looking around she tried to see where she had to go but honestly had no idea whatsoever. "Back to square one...lost." Yet she had indeed finally arrived at Kakariko Village.
