The Missing Goddess

Bloodshed

   When Yuki woke up it was with a start and a low gasp of pain. She tried to sit up but was quickly stopped by her mother who looked as if she had been crying none stop "oh Yuki! You're awake. How do you feel babygirl?" She was confused, why was her mom stopping her from sitting up and why was she in so much pain? "Wh...at happened?" Her mothers eyes widened as she realized her daughter really had no idea. "Yuki, honey, you were stabbed." Yuki's eyes widened as the memory suddenly came back to her.

  *Flashback*

   Yuki watched with wide eyes as Gai and link went at each other. What really caught her attention was Gai saying that Link would have to die. She was horrified as she watched Gai run at Link swinging his sword with an intent to kill. Yuki didn't even think, she just moved. She moved in front of Link and three things happened in one go. Link screamed, Yuki yelled out in pain, and Gai's eyes widened in horror. Gai didn't think as he quickly ripped it out making Yuki scream again in even more pain as she fell back into links arms. He was crying as he tried to stop the flow of blood leaving her stomach. "Yuki stay with me! Don't go to sleep!" He was begging her to stay awake. Yuki tried speaking but she ended up coughing up blood in the process, she felt so weak. And oddly cold.
    There was more screaming as gai ran off. He was still horrified that he potentially killed Yuki by mistake. Alexa heard a bunch of screaming as her door opened and she went to investigate the issue. Her eyes widened in horror as she saw her daughter and Link. Link who was covered in blood and her daughter who was unconscious and bleeding profusely from the gaping wound in her stomach. She let out a horrified scream as Hiro ran inside with the doctor. They took Yuki away and ran into a room to stitch the wound shut and save her life.
    Alexa asked what happened and Link retold the entire experience and Alexa was devastated and then very angry as she went to give gai's father a piece of her mind. Once she finished and Gai was currently stripped of his weapons did she go home to see how her daughter was doing.
   *end of flashback*

"Where is Link? Is he okay?" Alexa nodded and went to open the door and the second she did, did Link run right in and carefully took Yuki into his arms. He was crying all over again and Yuki gently rubbed his back "what were you thinking?! You could have died!" She frowned as she carefully sat up. Link quickly helped her and froze when he felt gentle hands wiping away his tears "I couldn't let him kill you." Was all she said as Link gripped her hands in his. He almost lost her. She almost died in his arms. And it broke something inside of him. She was so important to him. He couldn't imagine a life without her. "I can't lose you Yuki! I can't" his voice broke as he spoke this.
    Alexa watched them before she slowly stood up and left to give them some privacy. Now that she knew her daughter was okay, she was able to finally go and get some much needed sleep. But first she had to tell Hiro and Kaito. Kaito who came in like a bat right out of hell the second he heard that Yuki was injured. The two men looked up from their conversation and waited to see what Alexa was going to say "Yuki is awake. Link is with her. He's crying however. I'm going to get some sleep." She hadn't left Yuki's side in over 5 days. 5 long agonizing days waiting for her daughter to wake up. "Thank the goddess." Hiro breathed out, Kaito also managed to relax. Before the two men went into Yuki's room. Only to see link was holding her from behind as he told her what she couldn't remember.
     She was shocked to learn that she had been asleep for so long. She went to say something when she saw both her father and Kaito "Kaito?" "You know it princess, I came the second I heard you got hurt. Came here like it was the end of the world. You holding up okay?" He sat on the edge of her bed as he held her hand and her father sat at her feet "I'm sore but I'm doing alright. A bit hungry and thirsty though." Her father nodded "what do you wanna eat Yuki?" She tapped her chin before nodding "fish and rice." Her father laughed and left to get it for her. Kaito looked back at her and noticed she was much paler then the last time and he was devastated. He didn't think he would be here so soon and he especially didn't think it would be because Yuki almost died.
    "You were very brave Yuki." Links Eyes narrowed "She was stupid." Yuki rolled her eyes "she saved your life son. That was brave stupid, but brave." Link couldn't help but agree with it as he snuggled closer to Yuki being very careful of the still healing wound. "You'll be coming back to hyrule with me a bit sooner then planned." Yuki raised an eyebrow confused. "You need to heal, and you can't do that here with everything going on. We also have have some elixirs to help you heal faster. Nasty but they work wonders." Yuki gagged as she remembered the one she took for her shoulder. Kaito chuckled as he handed her one "take it now. Or you'll heal much slower, it'll also help with the pain." She groaned but opened the bottle and quickly downed it. It was so bitter that she gagged as she finished "nasty." "I know."
   Link was rubbing her back as Hiro walked back in with a tray of food. On there was food for Yuki and Link. Both whom had yet to eat. Link begrudgingly moved to sit next to her but held her hand the entire time they ate. "Thank you dad." "Welcome princess." Yuki blinked "speaking of how is zelda?" And no sooner did those words leave her mouth did her door fly open and a pair of arms were wrapped around her and muffled crying could be heard. Yuki sighed as she rubbed Zelda's back "I'm okay. I promise." "I was so scared Yuki!" She was still crying and even link rubbed her back as he made sure Yuki wasn't hurting from the extra weight and if she was she hid it very well. "How did you get here?" Link asked "my daddy bought me. He saw the pain in my eyes and I begged him. And when he saw how fast Kaito took off he knew it was serious. He's here too. He wanted to meet you."
    Yuki's eyes widened as the king himself coughed as he stood in her doorway. She never had so many people over before, nor so many people who cared. All she needed to complete the little group was Anya. Who showed up a second later. Yuki looked back over at the king and bowed her head and he frowned "a friend of my daughters does not bow or kneel to me so raise your head young one" Yuki looked up startled but snuggled into Links side. She was a bit tired after all. He quickly tightened his hold on her and Zelda shifted so Yuki would be more comfortable while Anya went and sat on the floor. "I am King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. I've heard quite a lot about you Yuki. What you did was very brave. However I'm sorry that it ended in you being injured." Yuki didn't say much except give him a small smile and when she did speak it was gentle and surprising. "It's nice to meet you. Your daughters very kind. And I'm glad she's my friend." She gripped Zelda's hand and Zelda smiled.
   She was about to fall asleep when she quickly sat up gasping in pain as she aggravated her injury "careful!" Several voices yelled as they saw the pain form in her eyes. She took a few deep breaths before speaking "what happened to Gai." Everyone went dead silent. No one expected her to ask about that. "He was stripped of all his weapons. And your father is considering banning him. However i think he should be imprisoned." Yuki sighed "that's cruel." Link growled "he almost killed you." "I know." "Then why?" She shrugged "banning him is fine. He's still young. Maybe he can learn from it." Link groaned. He hated how she saw the good in everyone. Even when it was clear they didn't have any.
"There will still be a formal trial. But you won't be here. I won't allow him that close ever again." Yuki nodded she knew better then to argue and to be honest. She never ever wanted to see Gai again. Not even if he was the last person on earth. She snuggled back up against link while everyone else talked. No one but Anya and Zelda noticed how Link pulled Yuki a bit closer and held her as she slept. The two girls smiled knowing Yuki was in good hands. "When are we going back?" "We'll leave tomorrow with Kaito, link and Yuki."
Anya's eyes widened. Her friend was leaving her once again? She went to say something but stopped herself. This was so Yuki could heal. And from what she knew her mother was planning to visit hyrule often and bring Saya. Maybe she could tag along too, just to see how Yuki was doing. She knew it would slow down her training with her own partner but that was fine. Yuki was more important anyway. She slowly stood up said a goodbye and left.
Link looked down at the sleeping girl in his arms before he curled around her protectively. He quickly fell asleep as well and Zelda followed not to long after.
The three men looked over and laughed "guess they were tired." "I don't blame them. Links been crying since he bought her here, and hardly slept because he kept having nightmares." "Zelda was devastated, she was so anxious she got sick from it." Kaito slowly stood as to not wake them and tucked them all in before kissing their foreheads. All three left the room so the kids could sleep. To make tomorrow easier they loaded up the carriages with Yuki's and links belongings. They bought more clothes since this would be a longer stay, and even link had more clothes and some new weapons as well. They left Epona in the stable for the time being. What they didn't know was Yuki's mom had gotten her a horse as well.
The men wished each other a goodnight before they each went to their designated location and fell asleep. None of them were looking forward to tomorrow. Not by a long shot. When morning came Yuki was the first one to wake up. She carefully moved away from both link and Zelda and climbed out of bed. Her legs were shaky at first but soon she grabbed some clean clothes a towel and her sanitary items. Her mother must of heard the noise because she opened her door and raised an eyebrow "i smell...." was all Yuki said before her mom nodded understanding. She helped yuki to the washroom and set the water to a warm temperature while Yuki removed her bloody clothes. Her mom sighed as she undid the bindings and saw the long jagged scar that was still healing and frowned. "If something hurts you yell and I'll come right in okay?" Yuki nodded as she carefully managed to get in the tub and let the water soak over her sore body.
Once she had finished her bath and deemed herself clean of all dirt and blood did she drain the tub and call for her mom. Alexa soon came in and carefully helped Yuki out of the tub being mindful of the fact some movement still caused her daughter massive pain. Yuki quickly dried off as her mother recovered the wound with a clean set of bandages. "Come on, come eat and then I gotta show you something okay?" Yuki nodded as she went with her mom to the kitchen only to have arms wrap around her. "Link, you scared the hell out of me" he smiled sheepishly but refused to let her go. Yuki sighed as she realized this and took his hand "come on get zelda I'm hungry." He nodded and quickly left and came back just as fast. Zelda wasn't to far behind this time.
Link took her hand and Zelda took her other as they all went to the kitchen. Alexa smiled and shooed them outside to wait for the food while she woke everyone else up. Soon enough everyone else was outside sitting around the fire talking and seeing how everyone was "How do you feel today Yuki?" She looked over at Kaito and thought for a moment "I feel better, still a bit sore but not as bad." "That's good. Because we're leaving today." Yuki nodded as she saw Anya run over and she quickly sat down with Yuki and the other two. Link and Zelda were on either side of Yuki so Anya had to sit in front of her as the group spoke "promise you'll keep in touch?" "Of course." Yuki nodded. Link stayed silent and Zelda did as well. This was Yuki's friend and they wouldn't get involved in this.
Alexa soon came out and served everyone something to eat including Anya who was a surprise visit. She then came back out with Saya and sat with her husband. She occasionally looked over at her daughter, and the others before she smiled and went onto feeding Saya only to be stopped by Rhoam who took Saya and carefully fed her the bottle. This caused several people to look at him "eat, from what I've heard you've hardly done that since your daughters incident. And you'll be of no use if you faint. Besides, I love kids." He has a smile on his face as Saya drank from her bottle.
Yuki watched as she finished her food only to freeze and Zelda started brushing her hair "hold still Im gonna braid it." Anya laughed "right she'll take it out and pin it. It's her style." Link glared and Zelda frowned. "It wasn't up when I met her." "She's let me braid it before." Two very different voices said right after each other. Anya looked at Yuki and was dead silent for a moment making everything feel awkward "is that true?" Yuki frowned "Yeah, it's true." Anya frowned as she realized Yuki was gradually changing. Especially if she was allowing other people to touch her hair. She didn't know if she should be excited or worried about it either. Zelda quickly finished the braid as Alexa walked over to talk to Yuki.
Yuki nodded not needing her mom to say anything as she stood and walked away with her. Link still being paranoid quickly ran after the two and Zelda stayed behind "she's my friend." Zelda looked over and frowned "she's my friend too. And I only want to see her happy. If she's really your friend you wouldn't act like this." Anya went bright red embarrassed at the fact she was jealous and being called out on it. "What would you know?" "A lot more then I let on." Was all she said as they waited for Yuki and Link to return with Alexa.
Alexa motioned for Yuki to be quite as she opened up the stable and led out a small black horse. It had a white mane with a black strip going through it and it was roughly the same size as Epona "mom?" "This is your horse sweetie. He just needs a name then he's going with Epona into the cart to go to hyrule with you." Yuki's eyes widened as she looked at the horse. Gently she reached out and he nudged her hand "Eien." Her mom blocked, it was the name for eternity. "Are you sure?" "Yes" Yuki smiled and Eien nudged her again in agreement with the name.
Alexa smiled and nodded before she helped put both horses into the cart and then helped all three children into the carriage as it was now time to go. Yuki said goodbye to the people she saw and hugged Anya goodbye before Kaito climbed up onto the horse. The king was in his carriage and nodded over at Kaito before leaving first. "We'll see you soon Yuki. We'll come visit." Her mom promised "okay. I love you." "we love you too. Be good." She nodded "we love you too Link and Zelda." The other two nodded and smiled as they gave goodbye hugs. Kaito whistled for his horse to leave. And soon they were once again on their way back to hyrule.
