As Link and Yuki arrived at Atinila tower did he finally let her go. "Thank you." He smiled "of course, do you need new clothes though?" "No, I can fix these, not worth replacing every time they get ruined." He chuckled as he carefully started to climb down. It took them at least ten minutes to reach the bottom. And just as Yuki was about to jump down Did Link reach out and catch her. "Oh." She was blushing and he smiled. "I wasn't taking a chance of you getting hurt again." She laughed "you're something else. So did Impa say anything to you?" He nodded "she said as soon as we get inside to follow you, walk deeper in then last time. She said you need to follow your instincts and it'll take you to where we need to be. However if you wanna look around here, for anything, clues to your past, your memories, or even items we can still use, I will not stop you."
She nodded "alright, thank you Link." "However." She blinked and looked at him. "However?" "Should those memories begin to become to much for you to handle or this place starts to mess with your mental state, you are to tell me immediately is that understood? I will not, and I mean I will not let you put yourself in harms way just to find out something." She sighs "I understand Link, trust me I do. But I feel like whatever is here we need to find it." He grimaced as he placed his hands on her shoulders "then we stop and relax as you recollect yourself, and once you're alright we'll continue but if it's that bad we will leave." She nodded "alright, I understand Link. I'll tell you the second it gets to bad." He nodded relieved that Yuki had easily agreed.
"Alright, Let's head into Atinila Village Ruins." Taking Yuki's hand the two headed down the path and walked right into what use to be Atinila village. "God this place looks awful." Yuki nodded "for all that it's been through, plus the calamity? I didn't expect it to still look like what it did back then." He nodded as they kept walking. Occasionally going Into a house that was still standing and taking a few things that were still in pretty decent shape, some a bit rusted but they could fix that. Yuki stopped as they neared a worn path and she frowned. "Yuki?" "Can we follow this? I'm not sure why but I feel like we should go this way." He shrugged "whatever you wanna do I'll follow." Nodding she headed down the path and he followed after her. It didn't take long before they found a meadow that was completely untouched by the calamity. "Wow, I didn't think a place like this would still be standing or free from monsters." Yuki was amazed as she looked around. The entire place seemed so familiar to her.
"We've been here before." Link looked at her. "Really?" "Yes." He kept a trained eye on her as she walked around and froze when she gasped. Drawing his sword thinking it was a monster, only to relax as he saw her blank expression. "A memory..."
*flashback*
Yuki and Link were at the meadow, talking about how training had been going. Neither one had been aware they had been followed as Yuki listened to Link talk about everything that had gone through so far. It wasn't long however before Gai had shown up. Talking about how it was Link's fault that he could no longer have Yuki. Talking about how Link has to die. As Gai ran forward did Yuki move in front of Link taking the fatal blow. Screaming in pain as the sword was ripped out of her, she fell backwards into links arms. Link was crying at this point. Talking to Yuki trying to get her to stay awake. He removed his shirt and placed it over the bleeding wound and picked her up. He ran to get help. Gai having already vanished. Yuki recalled everything going black and when she woke again she was in her house beyond confused. Her mother told her what had happened and Yuki frowned. People she didn't recognize came into her room each one checking on her. As the day went on her father went to get her food and eventually she had fallen asleep in Links arms.
*End of Flashback*
Link placed a hand on Yuki's shoulder and gently wiped away the tears that had started falling down her face. He had recalled the same memory, but it seemed now she recalled it a bit more clearly, especially with how she had almost died in his arms. "Shhh, you remember it don't you?" She nodded and hid her face in his chest. Falling down to his knees as he held her. Yuki sobbed into his chest as she tried to let go of all the pain that memory caused her, she could recall everyone but she was able to recall her mother and her father, even a bit of Zelda and the king along with Kaito who was Links father. "I remember my parents, I remember your father, Gai, all of it, how I was bleeding out in your arms." Her voice broke as she spoke "shhh, it's okay." He was upset at how this hurt her. "I was dying Link, I was dying in your arms." "Shhhh, you didn't, you made it, you were so brave that day."
She sniffled as she pulled back and he once again wiped away the tears that now stained her face. "Oh Yuki, it's okay love." She slowly nodded as she recomposed herself. "You wanna keep going?" "Yes, please, I want to find what we came here for, I also want to see what Gai was after here." He nodded and helped her back up to her feet. "Alright love, lets go." Taking her hand he led her back up the path. Deciding to stop in what use to be her childhood home did he finally help her sit on the floor. She didn't wanna attempt to sit on any of the furniture least it give way under their combined weight. Sitting next to her he slowly wrapped his arm around her waist pressing a gentle kiss to the side of her head. "How are you holding up?" She frowned, "it's like I can hear screaming, and this place smells like blood. But, I'm doing okay so far." He nodded, he may not have liked that it still haunted her to this day, but there was nothing he could do about it. "Stay here, I'm going to look around."
She nodded as Link stood up and looked around the living room. Going through drawers, carefully checking the shelves, trying to see if anything could be of use to them. Yuki watched him before she slowly stood and walked over to the hallway. Heading down she opened the door and froze, it was a child's room, she couldn't tell if it was once hers, or someone else's, but the room defiantly belonged to a little girl. Going inside she looked around and found a single diary on the table next to a turned over bed. Picking it up she carefully opened it and read through some of the pages. Upon reading one of the entries did she almost drop it. 'Dear diary, today my big sister moved out with her partner Link, dad wasn't to happy about it but mom made him see reason. Yuki was much happier when Link was around, and when they were apart, well it was like a part of her was just gone. Mom keeps insisting that they'll end up together, but dad is saying they won't because of some stupid rule. I hope Yuki is brave enough one day to admit she loves Link. They're perfect together, and I hope dad gets rid of that stupid rule. Honestly love is suppose to be free. Anyway, dad and Yuki fought just before she left, no not about her leaving with Link, but about how she didn't want to rule, it didn't surprise me, I feel as if Yuki was always meant to do something else, like she had a different role to play in this life. She told dad that I would take over one day soon. Honestly, that's all I want, i want to lead our people, show them that love can be free. But enough about that. I need to go hug my sister goodbye and make sure Kai was okay. Mom said he was taking Yuki leaving harder then the rest of us, I'm not sure why our little brother is closer to Yuki then myself but that's fine. Anyway I'll write again soon bye.
Saya of Atinila.
Yuki's hands were shaking as she read the last of the diary entry, she had a little sister....and a little brother and yet she forgot all about them, feeling tears fill her eyes did she go to close the book, feeling wrong for even having read it. Just as she put it back down and turn to leave did the door open, reaching for a dagger that was inside her pouch did she look up and relax, it was only Link and he looked annoyed yet more worried then anything. "Didn't I ask you to not move?" She weakly shrugged before walking over and hid her face in his chest. "Yuki? What happened love?" "Did you know I was a big sister?" His eyes widened yet she continued to speak. "I had a little sister, and a little brother, and i don't remember them at all. I'm awful." Quickly he wrapped his arms around her in an attempt to settle a now very emotionally distraught Yuki. "Hey, Hey, shhh Yuki shhh, you're not awful. You've been asleep for 100 years love. No one can expect you to remember everything from 100 years ago." She gripped his shirt "I didn't get to see them grow, I don't know if they even lived to this day and age. I don't know anything."
Link rubbed her back, not sure on what to say. He carefully picked her up and carried her out of the room before heading down to what was once her old room. Sitting down on the floor he held her to his chest rubbing soothing circles into his back. Once he was sure she stopped crying did he make her look at him. Her grey eyes were dark, and full of tears that had yet to finish running its course. "I found something." She sniffled but raised an eyebrow. And soon Link was pulling out a necklace. It was old from time wearing it down, yet still in one piece. It was a simple silver chain and attached to it was a moon, the symbol was meant to be for light, even in darkness the moons light will illuminate the shadows. "It was in the living room, seemed like it might be yours."
She nodded as she placed her hand on the necklace "it was, I've had it since I was a baby." He nodded as he watched her put it away. "I want to fix it before I even think of wearing it again." Again he nodded and grabbed her chin. "Look at me Yuki." Slowly she looked at him a confused look in her eyes and he pressed his forehead against hers. "It's all going to be alright, I promise." She gave him a weak smile before she gently pressed her lips to his in a chaste kiss. "Thank you." He blinked before he kissed her "don't thank me Yuki, now let's rest a bit longer before we head out. Do you know where we need to go?" Yuki tapped her chin as she bit her lip. "The ancient Ruins of Atinila." He blinked "you sure?" "Yes, I feel like something is there and we need to find it." He shrugged "alright love, we'll set out for it in a bit I promise, for now, try to rest. Just remember I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere." She smiled at him before she snuggled against him closing her eyes. "And Yuki?" "Mmmm?" "I love you." "I love you too Link." And with that she was sound asleep in his arms. Link looked down at the now sleeping woman and smiled before he looked out the window, trying to process everything that had happened today. He now had a few more answered questions, but that also left him with even more that needed to be answered. Deciding to not sleep he simply kept watch so Yuki could relax and not have to worry. However it wasn't long before even his exhaustion caught up and he himself fell into a deep sleep.
