chapter 3

AMELIAS POV
After a long discussion with both the husband and wife, we got them to compromise that she won't get surgery unless it gets much worse. She got discharged which was a lot of stress off Derek and I'd shoulders. I had a surgery and I needed an intern to scrub in and obviously I wanted Owen but head trauma wasn't his forte.
"Hey Derek is Edwards on your service?" I asked.
"Yeah why?" He said.
"Do you think I could borrow her?" I asked.
"Borrow her?" He question.
"Yeah like borrow her for a surgery and then give her back," I said.
"She's not a toy," Derek chuckled.
"Please?" I said.
"Fine, Edwards you can go with doctor shepherd," he said. She smiled and walked over to me. We walked down the hall on the way to the OR when Meredith stopped me.
"Hey I'm having a dinner party tonight I think I brought it up to you last week," she said.
"Yeah sure I'll be there," I said.
"Is the boyfriend coming?" She asked, because we talked about how Owen and I didn't really want to tell too many people, and Owen and I told Jo and Cristina that.
"Uh no probably not he has work," I said.
"Alright," She said and she got a page so she went the other way.
"So a boyfriend?" Edwards said trying to make conversation.
"Yeah," I said.
"He cute?" She asked.
"Yes, very," I said, "you?"
"Oh no I just got out of a messy relationship," she said.
"Oh," I said as we walked into the OR.
"Anyway thank you for giving me this opportunity," Edwards said.
"Of course," I said as we scrubbed in.
OWENS POV
I was sitting on a stretcher next to Jo, and across from us were some of the other interns, Andrew, Sam, and Levi.
"Okay guys, rate the residents from best to worse," Sam said.
"That's so much work," Jo chuckled and laid down.
"I like Karev," Levi said.
"Ew he's an ass," Jo said and sat up.
"I agree," Sam said, "Yangs nice."
"Shepherds cool," I said.
"That's not fair," Jo said.
"Why is that not fair?" Levi said puzzled. Jo looked at me and realized what she said.
"Cause she let us do shit yesterday so obviously he'll rank her higher," Jo said. I gave her a look that thanked her and she nodded.
"Shepherds a badass," Andrew said, "today I heard she got into a fight with a patient with the other shepherd."
"I heard that too," Sam said, "I like her."
"Dude shes hot," Levi said which caught my attention.
"You guys are weird," Jo said.
"No but actually does anyone know if she has a boyfriend," Levi said.
"And you think she'd date you?" Sam said, "god talk about out of your league."
"I heard she has a boyfriend," I said.
"Damn," Andrew said.
"Well there goes the small chance you didn't have," Jo said.
"Truth," I said.
"Is anyone going to this dinner party at Grey's?" Sam asked.
"I might," Jo said, "I'll go if you all go."
"Hey maybe Shepherds boyfriend will be there," Sam said to Levi.
"Yeah maybe Levi," I said. Jo gave me a look and shook her head at me. I smiled at her and she smiled back, and I'm glad she kept my secret.
"Are you two a thing?" Andrew asked. Jo and I looked at each other.
"No god no I don't date coworkers," Jo said.
"Yeah no we're not together," I said, "I have a girlfriend.
"Yeah I have a boyfriend," Jo said.
"How do you guys feel about dating someone you work with?" Sam said.
"Well obviously Levi is fine with it because he's trying to get in Shepherds pants," Andrew chuckled.
"She's hot Okay!" Levi said.
"Dude seriously She'd never go for you," Andrew said.
"Back to the question," Sam said.
"Yeah I mean why not," Andrew shrugged.
"What about you two?" Sam asked looking at Jo and I, "like I know you two are taken but how do you feel about the whole idea?"
"Depends who it is," Jo said, "but love is love."
"Yeah," I said, "Date whoever you want." My phone rang and it was Amelia. I picked it up before anyone could see the name. I walked over to the other side of the room to talk to her.
"Hey," she said, "you still working?"
"Yeah," I said, "really slow though."
"That sucks," she said, "I called to ask if you're going to Mer's dinner party."
"Some of the interns and I decided to go," I said, "which sucks because I can't really be around you."
"Yeah," she said, "why are you like whispering?"
"Cause I'm with some of them and I don't want them to know," I said.
"Oh okay," she said.
"Levi thinks you're hot," I said.
"Well I am," she chuckled.
"Yes you are," I said.
"Hey so the real reason I called was because there's an empty oncall room that I'm sitting in right now," she said, "you know?"
"Page me and I'll be there," I said.
"God I love you," She said.
"I love you too," I said. She paged me and my pager went off.
"Hey sorry my pagers going off call you later," I said to throw the interns off.
"Mhm," She said and hung up.
"What? No fair I never get to do anything," Sam said.
"See you guys later," I said and got in the elevator to meet Amelia. When I got to the door thankfully nobody was around so nobody would see. I opened the door and she smiled at me. I locked the door behind me and she got up and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"I love you," She said.
"I love you too," I said, "and god you're so hot in scrubs."
"You're pretty good looking yourself," She said and kissed me. I pulled her closer to me and we started to make out. She started to unbutton my scrubs as I pulled at the waistband of her pants. Her pager began beeping and she stopped kissing me.
"Oh my god you have to be kidding me," Amelia frowned.
"Ugh," I said.
"I promise we will continue this later," she said.
"Promise?" I said.
"You betcha," she smirked.
"I love you silly," I said.
"I love you more goof ball," she said and ran out.
