chapter 32

OWENS POV
Amelia finished work an hour ago, so she's home with the kids. I drove home and unlocked the front door and I heard her in the kitchen with the kids.
"Hey," I called.
"Hi," She said. She came out from the kitchen and smiled at me.
"Can you close your eyes?" She chuckled, "I went to target and bought them cute matching onesies and I want you to close your eyes."
"Okay," I chuckled. I closed my eyes and she placed one of them in my hands. I held him and Amelia told me I could open my eyes. I looked down and I was holding Ethan in a onesie that said "big brother" and I looked up at Amelia who was holding Lucas in the same onesie.
"Are you?" I said.
"Yes," she smiled. I smiled and we put the kids down and I hugged her tightly.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," She said. I was so happy.

The kids were both asleep and Amelia and I were laying in bed.
"When did you find out?" I asked.
"When I found out today wasn't the 23rd," she chuckled.
"Oh," I chuckled. She was quiet for a moment and then looked at me.
"I'm scared," she said.
"It's okay," I said.
"I don't know," she said, "sometimes I feel like I can't do it." She looked really upset and I hugged her.
"Of course you can," I said, "you're so good with Ethan and Lucas."
"I know," she said, "I'm very excited though."
"Me too," I said.
"I gotta get some sleep," she said, "Goodnight." She kissed my cheek and rolled over. I knew something was up with her.
"Amelia," I said.
"Yeah?" She said.
"Is everything okay?" I asked. She rolled into her back and looked at me.
"Everything is just so overwhelming right now and now I'm even more stressed out because we have another kid on the way and of course I want to have more kids but I'm so overwhelmed right now and I don't think I can do it," she said. She sat up and curled into me.
"Hey it's okay," I said, "what's overwhelming you? You can talk to me Okay?"
"Work," She said, "it's really hard at work without the kids, and I have a really hard surgery tomorrow."
"Why didn't you talk to me?" I asked.
"I don't know," she shrugged, "I thought it would just get better." Ethan started crying from the other room and Amelia got up.
"I got it," she said.
"Are you sure?" I asked, "you need sleep."
"Yeah," She said. Lately Ethan hasn't been sleeping very well and Amelia and I had given into him lately and let him sleep in our room. A few moments later Amelia came back in and Ethan was asleep in her arms. She kissed his head and put him in the crib we left in our room for him.
"Goodnight baby," She said.
"Niwgt mama," He said.
"I love you," she said.
"Wou," He said. She chuckled and climbed back into bed with me.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah," she said, "I just need sleep."
"Okay," I said and kissed her head. She nuzzled into me and closed her eyes. I kissed her head softly and watched her fall asleep.
