chapter 58

AMELIAS POV
I was now almost eight months pregnant and on maternity leave. This pregnancy has been super hard on me physically. I'm always exhausted, always hungry, my back always hurts, and I'm always sick. Owen has been great about it though, he's the best husband I could ever ask for. Arizona insists that we go for an ultrasound every week or two just to make sure the baby is healthy and growing which I appreciate a lot. I was lying in bed watching tv and Owen was downstairs with the boys making breakfast. I reached over and grabbed my phone and called Owen.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey good morning," He said sweetly.
"You know what I'm gonna ask," I chuckled.
"Yes I will come upstairs and help you up so you can pee," He chuckled.
"You're the best," I giggled.
"Anything for you," He said. He opened the door and he helped me up and kissed my head. I was in the bathroom when I felt my pants get wet, and I knew it wasn't pee. My water just broke.
"Oh no," I said, "no no no it's too early." I started freaking out and then I felt a strong kick.
"OWEN!" I screamed. He ran in and I grabbed the counter in pain.
"What's wrong what happened?" He said.
"My water broke," I said, "it's too early!"
"Okay just calm down okay?" He said, "I'm going to call our families and then Arizona okay?"
"Okay," I said. The kicking stopped and I watched Owen throw a few things in a bag and call both our moms and Arizona. I could tell he was worried but he didn't want to show it in front of me.
"Owen I'm scared," I said.
"Arizona will make sure it's okay alright?" He said.
"Okay," I said.
"Okay we need to get to the hospital. I started feeling a contraction. I screamed and Owen ran over to me and grabbed my hand.
"Okay breathe, breathe Amelia," He said.
"Oh my god this hurts," I said.
"Okay do you want to sit?" He asked.
"No," I said through the pain.
"Okay we need to get you to the hospital," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"Hey looked at me," he said, I looked up at his gorgeous eyes and he smiled at me, "we're having a baby."
"We are," I smiled.
"It's all going to be okay I promise," he said.
"Okay," I said and kissed his cheek. We got in the car and I started having a contraction.
"Okay Amelia breathe," Owen said grabbing my hand.
"Oh my god," I said in pain.
"Just breathe," Owen said and kissed my head. He sped over to the hospital to avoid me having another contraction in the car. We got to the hospital and Arizona got me admitted and into a room. I started having another contraction and grabbed Owen's arm.
"Okay okay," He said and let me squeeze his hand.
"Ah god!" I said in pain.
"Hey I've got you it's okay," Owen said.
"Ah!" I screamed, "Owen this hurts!" He squeezes my hand tightly and kissed my head.

I had been in labor for almost five hours.
"Owen I need the drugs," I said in so much pain. I was squatting on the side of the bed squeezing Owen's hand tightly.
"Honey the nurse will be here any moment Okay?" He said.
"Owen I need drugs!" I said in pain. I bit my lip to stop myself from crying. The baby started kicking hard and I started crying in pain. Owen put his hand on my stomach and started talking to the baby.
"Hey little girl," Owen said softly, "I know you're gonna be here soon, but give mommy an easy time right now."
"Please stop kicking," I said and wiped my eyes. Arizona walked in with a nurse with the epidural and I was so relieved.
"Thank god," I said. Owen helped me onto the bed as I got the epidural.
"Okay Amelia you're almost 5 cm dilated," Arizona said.
"Ugh," I said.
"You won't feel it as much now," Arizona said.
"Arizona," I said.
"Yeah?" She said.
"Is our baby going to be okay?" I asked.
"Yes," Arizona said, "she will probably have to be in the NicU for a little while but I promise you, she will be alright."
"Okay," I said. The epidural was starting to kick in and the contractions hurt less.
"Feel better?" Owen asked.
"God you have no idea," I chuckled.
"You're strong," He said, "you got this I promise. And I'm here the whole time, squeeze my hand as hard as you want I don't care, I love you Amelia."
"I love you too Owen," I smiled.
