B3: Chapter 4

Chapter 4 - Life

I watched the sun as it fell behind the horizon, the busy streets of the city  brings so much life to my static mind. My eyes became blurry and a tear fell into the floor. Agad kong pinalis ang mga luha saaking pisnge. This isn't what I wanted. Akala ko sa pagdaan ng ilang taon makakayanan ko na. Life after death becames nothing but an infinite darkness. I reminisced the past memories, kung gaano ka simple ang buhay. Kung gaano ka gaan sa dibdib at walang problema. Isang Inday na puro karangyaan ang kinagisnan.

I smiled bitterly, how I remembered my old self. I was a spoiled brat and has a bitchy attitude. Heck, I even bullied some people because of their physical appearance and social status. I know, this is all my karma. For all the things that I had done in the past fired back at me in triple times. It was difficult, especially I didn't used to the life who needs hardwork to survived.

Our company was bankcrupted and my sister's wedding got cancelled off. My kuya's flew to Australia because he got scared of the creditors. Maraming utang ang kompanya bago pa ito lumubog sa putikan. At kahit ang pamilya nila James ay gustong tumulong saamin. But my pride and my kuya's pride was too high to accept any helps. Even Messy's company tried to pay the creditors and my Kuya Jayden found it and he raised hell to Messy, his girlfriend.

My marriage with James fell apart. He tried to gain the custody of Dana but I won the favors of the judge. He also tried to reached out for me, and tried to gain my trust again. Ayaw ko din pagkaitan si Dana ng isang ama pero it was broken by the news stated that he's getting engage to another woman. I was mad! My chaotic mind immediately decided to migrated in Australia with Dana. I cutted off all the communications with him.

Noon unang gabi namin sa Townsville ay hindi tumigil si Dana sa kakaiyak at hinahanap ang Daddy niya. Marami akong dinahilan sa kanya para kahit papano ayaw kong kamuhian niya ang ama niya.

"Mommy, what are you doing? I'm getting late!" Dana's accented voice. I finished my makeup and hanged my bag on my shoulder and close the door of our room.  Lumabas na ako ng bahay at nadatnan ko ang aking anak na nakataas ng kilay.

"Mom! Make it faster please." She was already on the 8th grade and she was really undergoing puberty.

"Okay darling, I'm sorry okay?" Saad ko at dumiretso na sa sasakyan. Pumasok naman siya at pinaandar ang sasakyan. Simple lang ang pamumuhay namin dito. We're not rich here. Typical lang na pamilya na nakatira sa Australia. I'm working in fashion industry. Kahit papaano malaki laki ang sweldo na kayang pang tustos naming dalawa ni Dana. My kuya Jayden was also working in a corporation company at nakatira rin siya sa bahay pero madalang lang din syang umuwi dahil marami silang ginagawa. Nag iipon parin kami hanggang ngayon para may pambayad sa utang namin sa Pilipinas.

"You know what mom! I saw a man who looked like Daddy!" Napahinto ako sa pagmamaneho sa narinig ko sa anak. Agad akong lumingon sa kanya. Matalino ang anak ko at kahit hindi ko naman sinasabi sa kanya kung anong tunay na nangyari pero alam ko na alam niya kung bakit kami nandito sa Australia na hindi kasama ang Daddy niya.

"Where?" I asked her. She shrugged her shoulder.

"I can't remember! But I promise I will never talk to stranger. So chill, okay?" She said at pinagpatuloy ang ginagawa niya sa cellphone niya. Ilang taon na din siyang hindi nagtatanong sa Daddy niya. Hindi nga niya minimention ang ama niya sa usapan at hinayaan ko naman siya. Ayaw kong ring ipilit sa kanya pero kung sakaling magtanong siya, sasabihin ko sa kanya ano talagang nangyari.

Nangmakarating na kami ay agad niya akong hinalikan sa pisnge.

"I love you mom!" And she gets her things.

"I love you sweetheart" I said with a smile. My life is there. Wearing a blue and white uniform with a hazelnut eyes just like the man I fell in love long time ago. She's white as snow and her curly hair cascaded down to her back. She waves at me and went inside her school.
