After that night when Soraru-san refused to do me, he came visiting the pleasure quarters a week later. But he wasn't able to request me for my service because I already had someone else I was attending to. He came again the next day, but I was also busy handling some other clients so he left again, just like how he did yesterday. Soraru-san came on the next day, and the next, and the next, but he always left without seeing me since I was not available.

I couldn't say that I wasn't doing this all on purpose.

Ever since Soraru-san said that to me, I had been more conscious about him. I didn't know how I should face him after that night, after thinking about how I actually felt for him. I had yet reached an answer for that.

Though I had definitely figured out a few other things.

His eyes showed how serious and crucial that statement was when he looked into mine. He was searching for something again back then, but as usual, I didn't know what it was. And here I thought I was starting to know him. It turned out that we were both strangers after all. I mean, it was only the third night I had been with him.

I was back to my old self when I still hadn't meet Soraru-san. Or maybe I was getting better? I never rejected any clients anymore like I used to, only the ones who wanted to have sex but that was also only if I wasn't feeling well after the previous client. I was pretty busy, if I could say so myself. So it wasn't possible for me at all to serve Soraru-san.

"Mafumafu-san, are you avoiding Soraru-san?" Sou-kun asked, sipping onto his tea.

It was the pleasure quarter's afternoon teatime when Amatsuki-kun and Sou-kun would come in and join me for tea. We also have some sweets to go with it to make this more pleasurable.

"No," I said calmly as I whisked the green tea in my tea bowl so that it blends together properly before I placed it on the table, right in front of Amatsuki-kun.

"But he's been here every day!" said Sou-kun, his voice a little louder than just now before he placed his tea bowl down. I could feel his gaze on me as I scooped some green tea powder from a tiny ceramic pot into my bowl. "No matter one looked at it, Mafumafu-san is-!"

"Sou-kun, that's enough," Amatsuki-kun said softly, but there was a hint of strictness behind his voice. "It's not our job to question our courtesans,"

"But Amatsuki-san...!"

"As much as I want to know what happened after that night, if Mafu-kun doesn't want to talk about it then we should respect that,"

I stole a glance at Sou-kun when I poured in hot water into the bowl in front of me. He looked upset, but it really wasn't something I could talk to him about. I felt bad though, so I picked up a piece of my red bean mochi and placed it onto his plate. He looked back at me with a pair of really sad eyes, and I couldn't help but give him another one to cheer him up.

"... Mafumafu-san, why won't you see Soraru-san?"

"Sou-kun," Amatsuki-kun warned him again.

I put up a hand, and shook my head at him, telling him that it was fine. Amatsuki-kun's frown deepened. He wasn't happy about this but he sat back down and ate his portion of sweets. I placed another one of my red bean mochi on Amatsuki-kun's plate this time.
