Tony was poisoned. He was sick and dying, and Peter couldn't lose another family member. Despite the Avengers telling him not to, Peter went to the only one with a cure, the Shadow King of Hell's Kitchen, New York.

The Shadow King was a dark skinned man with violet eyes. He had a smile on his face when Peter entered. "You're in my world now, not your world, and I've got friends on the other side..."

Spirits made of shadows came up to Peter from where he was standing. "He's got friends on the other side..."

But one Spirit came up close to Peter, grabbing his hand, their cold dead eyes looking into Peter's with a cold smile. "I find delight in the gruesome and grim..."

"Sit down at my table," The Shadow King said, a shadow coming up from the cobblestone path, candles flickering on to showcase the many items that were scattered around. "Put your mind at ease..."

"I put a spell on you," A spirit said sitting close to Peter, pushing up against him, making him uncomfortable. "Now, your mine."

"If you relax, it'll in able me to do, anything I please," The Shadow King said, opening his palm to reveal a mist that collected in the shape of a potion. The poison that happened to Tony.

"I can read your future," The Shadow King said, pulling out a black card that had a red spider on it, in the exact same shape as the Spider-Man logo.

"Be prepared," A spirit said from behind Peter, making the one beside him run away.

"I can change it round some, too," The Shadow King said moving his hand over the card, making the black from the card cover the entire spider from the edges inward.

"Trust in me," The spirit from behind Peter said, before pushing off the chair to dissolve back into the other shadows.

"I'll look deep into your heart and soul-" The Shadow King started before the spirit that was sitting beside Peter came back, leaning down into Peter's lap. "Poor unfortunate souls."

"And make your wildest dreams come true," The Shadow King said turning the card around so that it showed the antidote Peter was looking for. The spirit that was leaning on him continued. "So sad, so true." And when she finally touched his lap, she dispersed into shadows.

"I got voodoo, I got hoodoo, I got things I haven't even tried!" The Shadow King sung out as another Spirit came in to help with the last word. "But I've got friends on the other side."

The spirit that started out behind Peter, spun his chair around so that they were facing each other. "And if you aren't shaken there's something very wrong, cause this may be the last time you hear the Boogie Song."

"There isn't a boy who won't enjoy it," A spirit said beside Peter before jumping back into the shadows beyond the chair Peter was in.

"Woah~ I'm oogie boogie man!!" Another spirit said pushing the first out of the way. After that, that Spirit spun Peter back to face the table, where Spirits were seated except the Shadow King.

"Beware, take care, he rides alone!" They all sang together, probably referring to the shadow king.

"This vampire bat! This inhuman beast! He outta be locked up and never released," A spirit sang that was right next to Peter.

"He swears to the longest day he's dead, he'll show them he can get ahead," They all sang. Peter was confused as to who the "they" was but Peter believed the "he" was the Shadow King.

"The world was such a wholesome place until-" Two spirits sang as the rest faded away leaving Peter alone at the table. A voice rang out, not taking any shape or form. "He had a plan to shake things up, and that's the gospel truth..."

"Are you ready?!" The Shadow king called out, sitting back into his throne, raising his hands to make the candles dim down so the shadows had more space to play.

"Fire," A spirit sang moving around the candle that was beginning to burn brightly in the center of the table. "Hellfire. This fire in my skin..."

"Transformation central!" The shadow king called as a Spirit came up to Peter, pulling him onto his feet before touching his face. "Yes, it is he. But not as you know him."

"Reformation central!" The Shadow King sang also standing up to come towards Peter. The doors blew open, the Avengers charging in, but they couldn't get to Peter and the Shadow King.

"Read my lips, and come to grips with reality!" The spirit said letting go of Peter's face, but staying in his line of sight.

"Transmorgrifaction central, can you feel it? You're changing, you're changing, you're changing alright," The Shadow King sang pushing the card from before onto Peter's heart, the ink grabbing onto him and climbing outwards.

The spirit that was messing with Peter, turned his entire body so he could see the Avengers who stood in shock. "Far from the ones who abandoned you, chasing the love
of these humans, that made you feel wanted."

"love is an open door!" Another Spirit called gesturing to a door that could get Peter to the Avengers, but Peter just couldn't reach it as the shadows had reached his shoulders and butt.

"Because they guzzle up the things you prize!" Another Spirit said pointed at the Avengers who started beating against the barrier of glass that kept them there.

"I hope your satisfied," The Shadow king whispered, looking at Peter who fell to his knees. "But if you ain't, don't blame me..."

"Don't forget it, don't forget it, don't forget it, you'll regret it," The Spirits said swirling around Peter, as the shadows that were covering him were started to crawl up his neck.

"This land we behold," One Spirit said sitting on the table. The one that sat beside Peter that made him uncomfortable.

"This beauty untold," sang the spirit that was behind Peter when he was seated. That spirit sat right next to the other on top of the table.

"If man can be bold," The one that messed with Peter before sang while setting next to the other two. Three spirits sitting on

"It all can be sold," They all sang together before fading away into meaningless shadows.

"As a specimen, yes, I'm intimidating," Another Spirit sang standing where the others were sitting before. The spirit then fell backwards, extinguishing the bright flame of the candle on the table.

"And you can blame my friends on the other side!" The shadow king sang as the shadows covered Peter's entire face. Peter was now just a shadow covered teenager on his knees, a statue.

"You got what you wanted!" The spirits spoke to the Avengers as the barrier came crashing down. But they were all frozen in place. "But you lost what you had..."

"Shhhh~" The shadow king sang waving his hand so everything, including himself, just disappeared. The Avengers sat speechless as Peter began to rise.

Peter wore a black and white version of the Spider-Man song, a cold, frigid smile coming on his lips. His eyes lit up with a ruthlessness as he tossed a blue potion at them.
