Chapter 44: forgotten

It was over.

They had both just 'slept' with their best friend. The one who they had always though was close....but this close?

Sure, they had both had feeling for each other at points.... But it's different now.

Now, they both have confused feelings.

Ross loves Rikki.....and Laura

Rikki loves Ross.....and Ryland

They're both confused.

Suddenly they head a door open.

They were home. Rikki got up not even daring to look at ross.

He felt guilt wash over him as he realized what he had done.

He had cheated on Laura.

He then gets up and changes.

They both are now in pajamas.

Ross walks over to her basket of movies, shows, CDs, etc.

They make eye contact. Rikki with tears once again.

Ross knows that her tears won't stop so he decided to pick a sad emotional romance.... It would make a pretty easy cover-up.

He puts in her advanced copy of If I Stay.

They both sit near the edge of the bed.

Ross sits with his legs crossed.

He looks over to her as she continues to cry silently. Her tears slowly fall one by one onto her blue and white blankets. Her soft light cheeks suddenly look dry as the tear stains dry out.

He sighs.

She looks at him...with a usual feeling that is now a common in the lynch household.....

Guilt

He feels the same. He pats his lap and she slowly moves closer to him. She lays her head on his lap as he turns down the volume of the movie.

He fast-forwards it making it seem as if they've been watching movies since they all left. He had already scattered two or three movie covers on the ground to make it seem convincing.

She's tired. Her headache increases as she thinks of the possibilities.

Ryland leaving her.

Choosing savannah.

No longer feeling love towards her.

Ross gently slides his hand down her eyes, closing them.

"Go to sleep" he tells her gently

She smiles. But with love as a friend or more?

He gently lifts her head and moves her hair , letting it fall back off of his leg.

He caresses it.

She's almost asleep, but not yet.

He feels his tears start to pour down as he feels the guilt grow stronger.

They both wait for someone to knock on the door.

He doesn't want to wait. It's probably his last chance.

He leans down and kisses her. He kisses her with passion, love, and guilt.

She kisses back.

It causes him to smile as she grabs his hand and he interwinds their fingers.

They pull away.

"I hope it's not the last" he says to her

He places one last kiss upon her forehead.

He lets his head slide down.

She giggles slightly. She kisses his nose then let's their faces drift apart.

"No matter what happens. I'll always be there for you. Whether it's as your best friend.....or"

"Or what?" He asks

"Or more"

"I love you" they both say

Once again they doubt their feelings.

They know they love each other as best friends..... They know

But what about as more.

Before going to sleep one last thought goes through Rikki's mind

He didn't use protection

Did you guys notice that little fact or not? Cuz faith/elizabeth noticed but idk about the rest of you.

Anyway I just wanted to apologize that I didn't put anyone directly in this chapter besides ross and rikki. So sorry.
