Chapter 75: a few twists

"How are you feeling, sis?" Rikki asks me
Ross smiles at her choice of words.
"I'm great, sis." I emphasize sis
Vanessa laughs. "I'm so glad you're okay Laura."
"Just glad?" I ask
"Okay, soo..... SO FREAKIN HAPPY!!!"
I can see Riker smile in the back. He notices that I saw him and stops.
"I'll go sign you out." Mark says leaving after he gives me a hug.
Stormie kisses my forehead and follows mark.
"Ross, ha gonna talk to her or what?" Ryland says
Ell laughs slightly and Rydel smiles up at them.
She kisses his cheek and they look back at me. I smile.
"So..." I say looking at ross
"You're okay." He says
"Perfectly okay." I respond
He smiles a true smile. His teeth showing and everything. I've noticed, only this family can get him to smile.
"And nothing can break us apart." I says
His smile drops. He runs out, but not before looking at rikki.
What just happened?
Rikki runs out after him, but runs back in to grab Ryland.
"What was that about?" I ask
"We have no idea" Rydellington responds
"Okay, so what's up with Rinessa?" I ask
"Oh you know everything's fine! Just that Vanessa slept with Aaron who's apparently like 26 which is like ten years older than we thought and I haven't talked to her since." Riker shouts
"Ya know, except when he's yelling at me." Vanessa says softly looking down
I look at Rydellington shocked. They just nod.
My eyes stay wide.
"I always thought that Riker would be the one to mess up."
"Hey!"
"Sorry."
"You know what!...." He looks at ness "I'll be at the house." He looks back at me "see you at home, Laura."
"Yup, Byers!" I say....kinda perky
"Dude!" Rydel yells at me
"What?"
"Why are you so perky?" Ellington asks
"I dunno...mood swings? Maybe I'm on my period."
He looks at me wide eyed.
I stare back googlyeyed.
Rydel laughs.
I can hear the door shut and notice that Vanessa's gone.
Oops.
Yeah, I think I'm on my period.
But what was up with ross?
