"Where's Mimi?" was a frequently asked question today.
'just an average girl, always wore a smile,'
everyone just shrugged. no one knew. she was probably at the mall or something dumb like that. at least, that was tai's thought.
'she was cheerful and happy for a short while.'
kari claimed she could be at the park.
'but now she's older. things were getting colder..'
but.. she dragged someone to the mall with her. no one was dragged with her. she never went to the park alone, she brought sora. sora wasn't with her.
'life's not what she thought, she wished someone had told her..'
finally, davis found a note, titled 'sorry'.
'she told you she was down, you let it slip by. so from then on, she kept it on the inside.'
it read, "im sorry. i cant do this anymore. im jumping off the bridge that overlooks the ocean at exactly 5:00 pm. i love you all, and.. dont wait up."
'she told herself she was alright, but she was telling white lies. can't you tell? look at her dull eyes..."
by this time, it was 4:00. it took about an hour to get to the bridge with traffic.
'tried to stop herself from cryin' almost everynight, but she knew there was no chance of feeling alright.'
sora demanded they leave that instant.
'Summer came by, all she wore was long sleeves
'Cause cuts on her wrist were bleedin' through, you see'no one argued, and they set to leave right then.
'she knew she was depressed, didnt want to admit it.'
By the time they got there, mimi had her hat off, her fists clenched, and she was staring out at the vast sea. the jump for sure would have ended her life. water turned to a brick when you fall on it. she knew that for a fact.
no one assumed she had depression; except sayako, who knew everything about her. except sora, who knew what she struggled with.
so when she stared out, no one knew what to do.
and then mimi noticed them. "here, sora.'
she let her hat fly back, and into sora's hands it landed.
"wait, mimi-"
tai started.
then mimi started to climb onto the railing.
