"Micah, what the hell are you doing?"
Picking up the walkie talkie, I smiled as my eyes were on the road. "I'm winning, bitch!"
I released the button as I accelerated a little more, watching the speedometer reach to a hundred in a few seconds. I smiled as my heart was pounding, my blood was pumping and I couldn't swallow this adrenaline even if I wanted to.
"You need to stop! Now!"
"Why?" I asked as I picked the walkie talkie back up. My eyes focused on the road as one of my hand gripped the steering wheel. "That five grand is mine!"
"Micah!"
That was the last thing I heard as all I saw was a truck pulling out in front of me. I tried slamming on the brakes but they locked up as I turned the steering wheel as hard as I could.
All I remember was flipping and nothing else.

I woke up, gasping for air. I sat up in my bed and tried to figure out where the hell I was at. Looking around the dark room, I noticed I was in my room and it was just a dream.
A terrible dream.
My head started throbbing. I touched the spot where I knew my scar was at and it instantly started hurting more. I sighed as I sat there trying to collect my thoughts for a moment before reaching over and grabbing my phone from the bedside table.
The time was five fifteen.
Laying back down, I tried to at least get some sleep before I had to wake up. But I wasn't sure if that was possible because at this moment I was wide awake.
Looking at my phone, I went to messages. I went to Cameron's name and stared at it for a moment, debating if I should text her or not.
Thinking it wasn't such a good idea, I sighed as I scrolled through Instagram for a few minutes. If I decided to text her, I knew she would ask why I was awake at this time or whatever, so I decided not to bother her.
Plus, I didn't want to get into details of that.
Placing my phone back on the table, I turned over and tried to fall back to sleep. I knew it was pretty impossible since the dream I had was resurfacing through my head and it was getting difficult to think of anything else.
But after a few minutes, I finally fell back to sleep.

"Since when are you ever late?" Jace said as I was trying to run around, getting dressed.
Ignoring him, I slid my shoes on before grabbing my keys. I grabbed some toast before smiling at him and running out the door in a hurry.
I knew I was going to sleep in. I had a feeling but my dumb ass self never set an alarm, cause I thought I would be able to wake myself up when it was time to get up.
Glancing at the time on my phone, I was about ten minutes late which wasn't terrible so I'm going to stop by Starbucks on the way there. I knew I had to get some coffee inside of my system and Mr. Thomas would understand once I explained everything.
This time I would be telling him the truth.
Driving over to Starbucks, I parked then got out. I don't go through the drive-thru because it's stupid and it's always a line. I never have time to sit there and wait on other people.
Walking to the counter, I smiled once Jasmine saw me. "Damn, aren't you late for classes?" She asks.
"Yeah, I slept in."
