A/N: A lot of key words in this chapter. Every time a chapter contains key words to look out for, you'll see this (*)
But I know it's long overdue! Enjoy!
"You look terrible.. what the hell happened to you?" Jasmine asks as she hands me a coffee from across the counter.
I knew I looked bad. I had bruises on my face and a few cuts from where Daniel hit me several times. I tried covering them up but I guess it wasn't good enough.
Everyone's been giving me weird looks but I ignore them. It really doesn't bother me when people stare at me, but it bothers me that they have no respect.
"I fell."
She gave me a weird look, knowing that I was lying. "Yeah.. ok." She leans over the counter. "I know you well enough, Micah. But I won't ask any questions."
I nodded then took a sip of my coffee. I really wanted this day to end because I was more than ready to see Cameron.
It's been a few days since I've seen her and even though I was pretty much sane, I was driving myself crazy by pretending everything was ok when it wasn't.
Everything just needs to go back to the way it was.
Making it to classes, I held onto my my coffee as I walked towards the doors. I heard running then looked over and saw Cole running towards me.
He grabbed the door handles and opened it for me with a smile on his face. I smiled at him before walking in with him behind me.
"How's your morning going?"
I chuckled as I looked over at him. "So, we're friends now?"
He gives me a confused look. "Uh.."
"I'm joking." I roll my eyes.
"I wouldn't call us friends anyways." He smiled as we walked through the hall. "We did some crazy shit together but I still wouldn't be seen with you in public."
I shook my head as he laughs. "You're still an asshole."
We walked into the student lounge then sat at table. I pulled a book from my bag then flipped it open and sat it down in front of me. I looked up to see Cole watching me and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"Has anyone asked what happened to your face?"
"Yeah." I said as I was looking at the book.
I heard him lean up a little. "What did you say?"
Looking at him, I shrug. "I fell."
He chuckles then gives me a weird look. "Yeah, that's believable. Why didn't you say you got into a fight?"
"Cause that would raise more questions. Dumbass." I roll my eyes then look back at my book.
"I had fun. Have you heard from that guy?"
Looking up at him, I gave him a confused look. "Who, Daniel?" He nods and I shook my head. "I don't keep in contact with him, Cole. We're not buddies. Do you not remember what happened?"
"I'm just asking if he came around or anything." I shook my head as he nods. "What about Miss Bailey? Have you talked to her?"
I nod. "Yeah."
"Did you tell her what happened?"
I gave him, yet another, confused look. "Why the hell would I do that, Cole? Are you this dumb or are you annoying me?"
"Annoying you." He smiles.
"Well, stop." I went back to my book.
After a few minutes, he left and I was thankful. He can get on my last fucking nerves and it irritates the absolute shit out of me. I don't understand how some days he can be cool, then other days he's a complete dumbass.
