"This place is so cool!" Brailynn was spinning around, smiling at everyone, screaming when someone would rev up their car.

This kid was a mess.

I saw Jace and Jasmine standing next to each other, drinking some type of drink. I approached them then smiled as I had Brailynn's hand in mine.

"Glad you could make it." I smile at Jasmine.

She smiles then pulls me into a hug. "You know I wouldn't miss it for the world." She looks down at Brailynn. "Who's this?"

Looking down at Brailynn, I look back at Jasmine as she was staring at me. "Um.." Well, shit. "You remember my instructor that started coming into Starbucks?" She nods as she watches me. "This is her daughter."

I watched as she looks down at her for a moment before chuckling. "Damn, she got you babystting?" She looks around for a moment. "And here?"

"Not exactly." She gave me a confused look. I sighed as I knew I'll regret this later. "I have her daughter because we're seeing each other."

She stares at me for a moment, looking back and forth between us. "Wait.. her or her daughter?"

Jace starts laughing then chokes on his drink. I look at him as he starts coughing then walks away, coughing his lungs out.

Jasmine looks at me and smiles. "I'm playing. I kinda knew something was going on."

Rolling my eyes, I punches her arm. "Whatever." I look around. "Do me a favor and watch her?"

She smiles then nods. I leaned down at Brailynn's level and smiled at her. "Be good, ok? Jasmine is going to watch you."

"Ok." She hugs my neck. "Go win!" She yells.

I smile as I stood back up then Jasmine and I fist pounded as I walked around them to my car. The air was a little chilly tonight as I could see my breath in the air. Looking back at Brailynn, I saw that she wasn't wearing a jacket, just a long sleeve.

Running to my car, I grabbed one then jogged back to them before they started walking off. Giving her the jacket, she smiles up at me then puts it on.

"Damn, this jacket is like.. pretty much her size." Jasmine says. "You're too skinny, Micah."

I rolled my eyes then jogged back to my car before being approached by Cole. Leaning against my car, I crossed my arms and watched as he stops in front of me.

"Ready to lose?"

"I don't lose." I look around then back at him.

He nods then looks around. "Heard someone has the advantage of winning. Wouldn't be surprised if it's against you." He looks me up and down. "Someone needs to teach you a lesson."

"Get lost, Cole."

I watched him walk around as I shook my head. I look around at everyone as they were getting ready for the race.

Even though it was freezing out here, I couldn't help but feel warmth inside of me.

-

"Micah Brooks."

"Yep, that's me." I smile as the announcer gave me my slip. I look around at whoever I was suppose to race but didn't see anyone walking up to me.

Looking down at my slip, I saw the name Dixie written on it. I look around until I saw a girl walking towards me, smiling.

Looking this girl over, she didn't look too bad. Actually, she was cute but this didn't seem like her scenery.

She stops in front of me then holds her hands out. "I'm Dixie."
