first: thank you for choosing to read this.
i know people skip the authors note a lot (myself guilty as charged) so if you're reading this, thanks.

second: why did i write this book?
simple. because i wanted my poems on a public domain for people to see and read and (hopefully) appreciate. everything here came straight from my mind, my heart, my soul, hopes and dreams, memories, all that cheesy junk. hopefully you can relate to some of these, and if not, maybe you learn something from them. maybe you get inspired, maybe you decide to go and get the girl/boy that you've been waiting to come to you. maybe you decide to break up with someone. maybe drop that toxic friend. maybe you will stay alive another day. who knows.
but the main reason i wrote this was to show any of you reading this that you are not alone. i'm here, and i'm breathing and taking up space. just like you, and your lover and your best friend and your worst enemy. we're all here. just livin. so if you're breathing, take deep breaths. if you're taking up space, take up as much of it as you can. scream and be wild, but remember to sit and be silent. be happy and laugh, but remember to cry and ask for help.
im here and you are too.

third: dedication. this is dedicated to everyone who told me that i couldn't do something, whatever that something is. to the bullies from second grade who told me i would never be pretty (which im still in the process of realizing is false), and to my fourth grade teacher, who took off points from my math test because i didn't do the problems her way. with all due respect, screw you.
this is also for the people who told me that i could do something. the ones who picked me up every time i fell down, and kept pushing me to go, go, go. thank you for never giving up on me. my mom, my stepdad, my brother, my sister, my cool teachers, and all of my closest friends and partners who have been there for me. thank you.
this is also for you. without you reading this, my dream of getting whatever this mess is out into the world would have never come true. so to you, dearest reader, thank you. i love you. this book is with you for a reason. i hope you continue reading.

fourth: advice that literally nobody asked for.
just keep being.
and dont let anyone tell you how to.
you decide.

i love you, and thank you for reading this if you're still here.

fifth: a command.
take a deep breath.

now another.

go hug your mom or call someone you miss.
grab a glass of cold water, or a nice hot tea.

its okay, ill wait.

....

you back?
alright, lets go.
