seeing you stand
where i once stood
knee-deep in mud, just like i was.
in the exact same spot.behind my house, next to the new bridge.
it felt so real to see you standing there, laughing.
you lost your left shoe and had to dig around to find it.you were covered in mud.
you looked like such a goober.it hurts that it feels like
we have been so close to crossing paths so many times.i can only imagine how many times you have walked by.
the universe is just not on our side right now.
who knows, maybe next time i go down, ill see you in the mud,
carefree and laughing
like we once were
