Sophie strapped on her armor, which was made by the Black Swan's Technopath, Tinker. Her vest, boots, and leggings has plenty of little hiding pockets for weapons like throwing stars, small daggers, and grenades. (A/N do they even have grenades in the Lost Cities??) Her armor was made from one of the strongest metals known to elves, and it would keep Sophie safe even if someone tried to impale her with a sword.

Once she stepped out of her room, she found that the rest of the group had been waiting for her. The group consisted of three dwarves, two gnomes, two goblins, and another dimpled elf.

Dex grinned and waved her over. "Took you long enough."

Sophie shrugged. She couldn't sleep the night before, so she had been reading late into the night. "I mean, at least I get to go, right? It's the first time they've ever trusted me with something this important."

Before Dex could reply, Sandor clapped his hands to get the crew's attention. "Almost time to go.  I expect each and every one of you to listen to all orders given by Grizel and I." Grizel smiled and took a mock bow. Sandor rolled his eyes and continued,"Especially you, Sophie."

Sophie slumped in her chair. "Why do they have to call me out like that," she mumbled to Dex.

" 'Cause if you die, we won't have a horse girl as our secret weapon," he replied.

Sophie just glared at him, unable to come up with a retort.

Edaline wrapped Sophie in a hug as she stood to leave. "I still don't think this is a good idea. Maybe you should stay back?"

Sophie shook her head. "Nope, no, nada, not happening." When she saw the worried look in Edaline's eyes, she gave her a small smile. "I'll be fiiiine, don't worry!"

Sophie turned away, and rejoined the group, who were now completely ready. Sandor held up his pathfinder to the light.

"Let's do this," Sophie mumbled, as they glittered away.
