Sophie didn't remember blacking out as the two Neverseen members dragged her away, but she must have done so, as she awoke from her slumber in an unfamiliar room. The room was very dark, its only source if light being the small window in one wall. It was dusty, like it hadn't been used in a while, and was about the same size as the small closet she had hidden in with Keefe.

Oh.

Keefe.

Sophie was still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that he'd betrayed her.

However, looking back on it, she could see all the clues she'd missed; hindsight was funny like that. The Neverseen has been prepared for all their attacks. Every. Single. Time.

Keefe had done his job well. He had gained the trust of all Sophie's friends, even her.

Especially her.

Did this mean it was all fake? The feelings, the looks.

The kiss?

His betrayal was like a punch to the gut, a wake up call: Not everyone is who they seem to be.

Sophie had made a mistake trusting Keefe Sencen.

But she wouldn't let it happen again.

No. She would make up for that slip in judgement. Preferably through revenge.

"You know, for such a nuisance you're really quite boring."

Sophie jolted up, eyes scanning the room. There was nobody inside.

Nobody in sight.

Sophie tried testing her theory. She swung her arms wildly, and as the room was so small, she found her target quickly.

A Vanisher.

The impact of her arm knocked the Vanisher to the ground, however when he reappeared in sight, he seemed unscathed except for a small frown on his face. "That wasn't very nice."

He had sharp features, and Sophie thought he looked familiar, although she couldn't place why.

Sophie found this so ridiculous, she snorted. "You lock me up in a room and expect me to be nice? Bring me to your leader and we can have a nice long chat about manners.

He huffed. "Fair enough. But for the record, I don't leave pretty girls locked up." He winked, and Sophie got the distinct impression that he was flirting with her.

"Yeah, okay." Then she had an idea. "Would you really leave a pretty girl like me here?"

He eyed her suspiciously. Sophie wasn't a very good actor.

She tried looking as pathetic as possible. "Pleeeease?" She even threw in the quivering bottom lip.

Nope. He wasn't buying it. "Sorry, babe. Rules are rules."

And with that, he left.

So much for that plan.

She sighed and tried to sit down, when she felt a hard lump in her boot. Taking off her shoe, she found the home crystal, the one she'd place there just in case.

That seemed like forever ago.

Sophie made  sure there were no more Vanishers around her. Couldn't take anymore chances, especially at one of the Neverseen's main bases.

When she was satisfied that nobody could see her, she finally held the crystal up to the light.

Time to go home.

Without Keefe.

Did you miss us?

You guys have no idea how weird it is for me to write an authors note after not doing so for like four chapters lol

We got a new cover by Moonlight-Fox

I've been banished from the kingdom because i suck at being a jester, apparently

And uh we've started saving chapters as drafts so the dates we out will be different from the day we actually publish it. For example, today is June 11 but I'll publish it on the 13th (I think)

aNyWaYs

This chapter sucked, but at least we're passed the damn climax. It literally took forty chapters and three months smh

Love you guys <3
