Sophie and Keefe were hiding, together, in a very small space. Leave it to Biana to continue their love story even when preparing to battle. Well, not a love story. It would never be a love story, as there was no love at all between them.(A/N: Yeahhhh Righttttt. We shall see about that!**evil laugh**)
Sandor, Grizel, Biana, Keefe, and Sophie had arrived at Exillum, they were waiting for the Neverseen to arrive. They wanted to ambush them when they came. They would at least have one advantage: the element of surprise. It was all Biana's idea when she sent Keefe and Sophie to go hide, by themselves without Sandor or Grizel, in a small space between the door and the wall. It was a small compartment, and Sophie had to crouch while she was inside it , but it did provide a good hiding place.
Sadly Keefe was very, very close to Sophie, more so than she would have liked. His face was near her's and their legs were touching. Sophie was sure that her face was redder than a tomato and her heart was beating as fast as a hummingbird, and to top it all off, Keefe was an Empath.
Fantabulous.
"So, Foster whatcha thinking about, huh?"asked a smirking boy, who she most definetly did not like. (*riyagiggles*)
"Huh? Oh! Umm...Look, I see someone!" said Sophie, changing the subject, a little too quickly.
"Uh huh, don't think I'm going fall for that Foster," but he did look back, and (surprisingly) didn't see anyone except for a couple of students who were escaping the torture of their classes, according to Keefe.
Keene turned back to face her, and resumed smirking at her. "Sooo, where are those emotions coming from then?"
Sophie shot him her most menacing glare before turning away and moving as far away from him as the tiny space would allow.
Fighting back a sigh, she looked at anything but Keefe, knowing that if he caught her staring, he'd tease her endlessly. Why did it have to be him she was stuck with?
She was so going to kill Biana after this.
Finally, enough was enough. She crawled out of the tiny room, desperate for some air.
"Uhhh.. Foster I don't think we should-"
Sophie cut him off "I need some air," she told him, "and that place is making me claustrophobic."
Keefe still didn't look convinced, but he didn't argue as he followed her out of the room.
Ducking outside, she gasped for air like it was the last time she ever would, ignoring the weird, sideways look Keefe gave her. This was her way to stay calm, whether he liked it or not.
Sophie was just about to turn to go back inside, (and into that horrible cramped room), when she heard it.
That wasn't the first time she heard that sound.
And even before Sophie turned around, she knew that the battle had started.
