Why, out of ALL the members of the Neverseen did it have to be Keefe Sencen?

Hell, at this point she would've been overjoyed if Gisela had shown up to watch her.

Anybody but the blonde boy in front of her.

"Why are you so quiet" his voice startled her from her thoughts about what she would do to him once she escaped her prison.

"You don't plot a murder out loud, idiot." She retorted, pleased to see the hurt in his eyes before he turned his head away, staring at the floor.

Good.

More silence passed, but Sophie didn't want to be the one to break it. Keefe seemed just as stubborn, however.

Sophie heard scuffling outside of the closet-caged place, confirming her fears. There were guards outside, ruining any plans of escape she'd already had.

"So Sencen," Sophie began as casually as possible, "Exactly how many exits are there in this place?" She tried for an innocent smile, but she didn't even need to as Keefe answered her almost immediately.

Keefe answered, "two real ones, but not many know about the third."

Sophie attempted to look politely interested, but inside she was jumping up and down. "And where might this secret exit be?"

Keefe opened his mouth to answer her, but a knock sounded from the door at that exact moment. He frowned and opened the door, revealing two hooded members holding what looked like a hospital stretcher.

Sophie glanced at Keefe, but he looked as lost as she did as he asked "Um..what's this for?"

One of the members answered in a muffled voice, "Your mother's orders. We're taking the prisoner to the labs."

Sophie blinked. "Uh, labs?"

This time, the hooded figure didn't bother to answer, unlocking the door while the other figure shoved a protesting Keefe out the door.

Sophie backed away, but the room was so small that she was already knocked into the wall. "You're not taking me anywhere."

The figure's voice held no sympathy in it, "I'm afraid you don't have a choice."
