Michele's Point of View

*5th Grade, Week of Valentine's Day*

I sat on my bed working on my math homework with Corbyn.
Everyone was asking the person they liked to be their Valentine. Only the guys asking were asking the girls.
Sage has spent the past four months explaining what falling in love was. But I never listened to her.

Corbyn was helping me withe the math homework.

He sat right next me, our shoulders touching.

I was spacing out when he said, "Do you understand it now?"

I snapped back into reality.

"I think so yeah," I replied.

We were working on geomatry (idk how the hell to spell the word, cuz I can't spell at all).

I needed to draw a perfect circle, but I literally couldn't.

I threw my pencil down in frustration and looked at Corbyn was laughing.

"If you're so good you draw a perfect circle," I said as he picked up my pencil.

He put it in my hand. Then he grabbed a blank sheet of paper and set in front of me.

Then he put his hand over mine and started guiding my hand across the paper, making perfect circles.

*Later That Night After Corbyn Left*

"Someone is happier than normal," Sage said as we ate dinner.

Our mom was work, so we were home alone.

"I think I might like someone," I said.

"Spill," Sage said.

"You have to promise not to tell him," I said.

"Ugh, fine," she said.

"I think I might like Corbyn," I said.

Sage just stared at me.
I explained what had happened when Corbyn was helping me draw the most perfect circles and she just started jumping up and down.

And in that moment I realized I had just spoke the truth.

But Corbyn would never know.
