"Mom, will Claire's dad be okay," Carter asked me.
"I'm going to be honest. I have no idea," I said.
"Will Chance be okay," Maya asked.
"He'll be okay," I said.
"Dada," Oliver asked.
"Daddy's gonna be perfectly fine," I said as I watched my husband sit up in his hospital bed.
I handed Oliver to Jonah and sat next to the bed.
"The others will be fine. But Corbyn, he's uh, he's a whole other story. I'll have to tell you later," I said.
He nodded his head and looked at the toddle sitting in his lap.
"I'm so happy I get to see my children," Jonah said.
"We're happy to see you too dad," Carter said.
"Yes we are," I said.
