Corbyn's Point of View

I had gotten home early from tour with the other boys. I wasn't really expecting to be getting a call from my mom saying that my eldest child and my wife were fighting, but I did. I walked into a dark and empty house. I left my suitcases at the door.

Yes, I did lie saying I was getting home right before Christmas, but that's not what's important right now.

I walked to all the bedrooms to see them empty.

I was in mine and Michele's room, which over looked the backyard from the window. I walked over to it, and there I saw my family lying in a blanket and pillow nest.

I walked downstairs and out into the backyard. Two out of five of my family was still awake.

I picked up the twins and my eldest daughter looked at me.

"Dad," she said.

"Hi Claire," I said.

We both looked to her mom. I put my finger over my lips signaling her to be quiet. She must've been to into the stars to even hear Claire dad.

I leaned over so my face was in her view more than the stars were.

It took her a moment to realize that I was there, but when she did, she filled with happiness.

She grabbed my face and kissed me.

In the background I could hear Claire gag.

I just smiled.

"You're home early," my wife said.

"Do you wish I was gone longer," I asked.

"As long as you always come home to us, I won't care how long you're gone for," she said, holding my face in her hands.

"Stop flirting," Claire said.

We just laughed.

"Let's put the kids to bed," Michele said, getting up.

"You go to bed," I said.

"No," my wife said. "I'm helping you."

She picked up the twins and I picked up Chance.

"Claire, can you open and shut the door behind us," I asked.

She nodded her head.

"We'll bring everything else in later," I said.

Boy, was I happy to be home.
