Chapter 16

Michele's Point of View

There was two days until the boys left tour, and I still hadn't spoken to Corbyn. I decided today was the day to talk to him. 

I texted him early this morning asking him to meet at the clearing. I told him to bring one friend, and he for some reason chose Zach. But I chose Melanie.

And now, here we were, sitting across from each other in the clearing where we had our first date. 

"We need to talk,"I said.

"About what," Corbyn asked.

"And why are Zach and I here," Melanie asked.

"We need to take about us, and I don't feel comfortable doing alone. And Kora and Sage will make a big deal about it," I said.

"No. You're supposed to be doing this alone," Melanie said. 

"But we both know that I don't have the emotional strength to do that," I said.

"Jeez that's a good point," Melanie said.

"Now, Corbyn, we need to figure our shit out," I said. 

He just gave me a look.

"What are we? Are we dating? Are we just friends? What are we," I asked.

"I don't know," Corbyn said.

At least he was being honest.

"Well we need to figure what we are before anything else happens," I said.m "I mean we're practically dating. We sneak kisses here and there. We hold hands. We cuddle. We sometimes share a bed. We go om dates. We do other, couple things that I won't mention. So what does that make us? A couple or friends with benefits? I need to know."

He just gave me another blank expression.

"You seriously have nothing to say," I asked.

I got nothing from him.

"I'll go on tour with you guys and Melanie, but if you can't tell me what we are by the end of the tour, we'll just stay friends, and nothing more," I said.

Melanie and I got up and left.

"You did good Michele," Melanie said rubbing my shoulder. "I'll drive."

I sat in the passengers seat and looked out the window.

"I don't know what to do Mel," I said. "I love him so much. I always have. But I don't know what to do."

"I promise it'll work out. Just give it time," Melanie said.

I just looked out the window, falling asleep.
