"Don't think about him, don't do it. Tuck all of your feelings to the side before it really affects you that much. God. I am such an idiot!
*sigh
As you can tell, I am quite tense. This is not going to be a good day, I can feel it.
This will probably be the beginning of the downfall of high school as Alexa calls it."I made my video late at night and fell asleep as soon as I pressed the stop button.
While I was asleep, I thought I heard some muffled talking, it sounded like Alexa. And then I felt some force on my right arm.
"God damn it! You're too heavy!"
And I heard the door shut.
At least I thought that it was a dream.
My body finally woke up at 10:27am. For the first few minutes, I was dazed.
"Is it a Saturday?" I mumbled.
I picked up my phone and I found 20 text messages from Cassie and Adrian. Asking me if I died or got sick or something like that.
"MOM!" I screamed for my mom, but no response. Of course, she probably thought that I went to school with Alexa. Nope, I'm at home.
I went down the stairs and not even breakfast was left out for me. Great.
I just quickly change my clothes, take out my ponytail and brush through my hair, grab some money, and rush through the doors. No need to lock them because every time somebody leaves, the doors automatically lock by themselves, very convenient.
Even though I am not the fastest runner, I decided to wing it and start running to school. Halfway to school, I found a bagel place and stopped there. Since I was in a rush, I picked the first thing that I saw and threw the cash at the cashier and ran out the door. I ended up eating a plain stale bagel, but you get what you get.
I checked my phone again and the time was now 11:00. Great.
Even though I'm slow, I'm running to my school even if the school is down south and my house is up north.
The closer I got to the school, the more cars and traffic were appearing. Stop lights, go lights, drunk drivers, you name it.
One crosswalk is when I almost got ran over by a mother in a white minivan with a 7 year old child. The mother was in a rush and the child was either a brat and did not want to go to school or she woke up like me. I think it's option 1.
I finally ran into school late just as lunch began. As fast as I could, I ran into the cafeteria and saw Cassie and Adrian stare at me.
"Now where the heck were you?" Cassie asked.
"I woke up late and ran to school." I was blunt and truthful.
Adrian didn't say anything for a little bit.
Finally, he opened his mouth.
"I never saw you with your hair down before, Kat. It's like you're a different person."
I could feel my body getting hot, but then I realized that I had a hair tie on my left wrist and quickly put my hair in the normal messy high ponytail that I do.
"You didn't have to change it, Kat. I actually like it."
"Really?" I was twisting my hair into a ponytail. I never liked my hair down because of the odd color and how my long hair never flattered my face that much.
"Hey, are you saying that you think that she's cute?" Cassie said out of the blue.
Adrian started to freak out a little.
"N-n-n-no. I didn't say that. I just said that I liked it! Jeez, Cassie, you think about the littlest things and it turns into something about love."
"But, love is everywhere! You just choose not to see it!"
"You say that like I see my world in black and white."
"Because you do!"
Adrian rolled his eyes.
"Why aren't you saying anything to Kat?"
"And now, you're trying to defend Kat? I know your dirty secret, Adrian!"
Sounds promising, I think.
"Look, all that matters is that Kat is here. Ok? Kat is with us and she is ok. Even if she woke up late. She's with us. And besides, she's the type that wants to get perfect attendance, she'll go to school even if she has a 102 fever."
What Adrian is saying is true, I don't like missing school.
But why didn't mom say anything about me not going to school? Maybe she thought that I woke up extra early and slept in Alexa's car to get some zzzs before class. That's what I did in elementary school at least.
I saw Adrian's cheeks blush red and he hid his face in his sweater. Cassie slapped him extra hard on the back.
"OWWWW!"
"Doofus. Idiot."
Cassie insulted him over and over. I'll admit, Cassie and Adrian seem like a tough love couple. But, in reality, they are closer together since they were in kindergarten. Cassie said she used to have feelings for Adrian in elementary school, but Cassie became too lovey dovey.
Aka, the hopeless romantic friend that is either a fairy godmother with matchmaking or a total mess in love.
Adrian is more withdrawn, kind of like me. We watch Cassie participate in school events. She's kind of like a class clown. Although she's quiet too. She'll shoot her shot straight away instead of playing love games.
That's why whenever we go to her house, her twin brother always tells us that she tries to hit on his friends even though they think that Cassie is his younger sister because she looks 12.
I'm in no rush to fall in love. I feel like if I fall in love, a lot of things will fall apart. But, what do I know? I'm only 15 years old.
