"Merry Christamas Eve! Today and tomorrow, we're heading up to Canada to a place called Happy Valley Goose Bay! This is where we celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And all my presents are wrapped, all my bags are packed, and I'm ready to go to Canada!"

Mom suddenly opened my door.

"Hey Kat, are you making another video?"

"I am actually."

I turned the camera to my mother, who was a little hesitant at first.

"This is my mother, very sweet but a little quiet at times. Don't tell Alexa but she says that I'm her favorite."

"You're less annoying than her."

I giggle.

"Anyways, we should be going now."

"Yeah, let me finish this up."

I clicked the camera and put it in my bag.

My family is waiting for me after I run down the stairs.

"We're not driving to Canada since we don't have time. Instead, we're flying."

"YES!"

Did I forget to mention that Alexa loves to fly?

It's currently 6 in the morning, I don't have time for this.

Our flight is scheduled for 9:21 am and we should be there by 6:40pm. We're in first class and I can't wait to not be by Alexa.

The airport was pretty much a blur until we got on the plane. For the most part, I just put in some headphones, sipped at a can of Apple juice, and went to sleep since.... you know.... I was trying to beat Papa's Cupcakeria in one night. Most parents would just bother their children with things to do, but to be honest, my parents aren't too annoying about things.

I woke up to the sound of clapping and a voice from the airplane saying that we landed. Mom and dad were across from me and they were laughing at me.

"What's so funny?"

"Kat, you were snoring through your straw." My dad was laughing.

"You went like zooooooo~ through your straw." My mom added.

I looked away because I was so embarrassed.

"It's all good, at least you got some sleep." My dad giggled.

We got off the plane and we headed towards the Festive House for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We're normally the last ones at the house.

All of our presents are shipped to the house.

After a 15 minute car ride, we finally arrived at the Festive House, covered in snow and ready to be held with a celebration in. Just walking in the house, you can smell the cooked ham, the holly, and pine.

And on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we celebrate with the Azul's, the Van's, and the Harnes. Everybody has a holiday themed room and we take pictures by the Christmas Tree.

It normally isn't until after the Christmas Eve specialities that we actually pack. Everybody goes downstairs, dances with each other and when we come, that is a signal that dinner is ready. You know it's a good Christmas when you walk in the door and dinner is served.

The best part about Christmas is hearing the Azul's falling back in love story every year, it's gets more dramatic every time you hear it. The Harnes go all out in Christmas Carols and then we have a singing competition to see who can belt All I want for Christmas or Christmas with You. I just love to laugh as Jordan, Sophie, Alexa, and the Harnes family go all out while there's me either filming it or watching Uncle Daniel and Aunt Eliza's faces go pale then red as their daughter's voices crack.

"When I was their age, I could sing that with my ears closed."

My parents and I normally clean up. I was also in charge of being Alexa's cameraman as she changed her clothes over and over again and did many over the top poses. Then, she looks at the pictures and hits me because they are "too ugly" and then put them on her Instagram with the caption "Welcome to my Christmas Crib, Christmas Eve 2018" and she just assumes that everybody will think that she has a personal photographer when In reality, it's her little sister that looks like a hobo and looks nothing like her at all.

Christmas also comes with card games, trivia, and presents from everybody else but your immediate family. Oh yeah, you have to buy presents for your other family members too.

Sophie nearly fell down the stairs, Jordan drew something innuendo like, the Harnes kids nearly took down the tree by trying to climb it, and their parents were having a mental breakdown.

Merry Christmas Eve,
