"Well, it's been a long ride, my friend. And I want to say thank you for listening to me ramble, go on adventures with me, and help me discover more about myself. A lot has happened within this year, and I mean a lot. So, thank you, and who knows? I might have more adventures with you one day."

I turned off my camera and put it in my bag.

Today is the last day of freshman year.

It has been a rollercoaster and some out of the box things have happened, but nonetheless, it was a great year overall.

I made a new friend actually that I didn't tell you about, Alexa.

Yes, Alexa and I are friends now.

Truth is, she had to get therapy due to mental health issues and is probably still going to need it for a while, but she has been a lot better now. She even hangs out with Adrian, Cassie, and I. Her style even changed, and she starting wearing more casual clothes.

After many discussions, she apologized right off of the bat for everything that she had done to me and realized how many mistakes that she actually made. And we hugged, a lot.

She takes me to school with her now and we talk, and no, she does not try to run me over with her car anymore.

You know that sometimes the people that you think can't change, change the most?

That is Alexa. And I am very proud of her.

On the last day of school, we ride together in her car.

We have lots of fun talking and we duet together, singing along to a hit song from last year. She has a higher range while I was the alto part, even when she had the high note, she felt shy about doing it, and I had to punch her arm to tell her that it's ok.

We arrived at school and for the first time in a long time, we walked in together. Alexa seemed almost unrecognizable and started to blend in with the crowd, which she wants to do now.

We walk to the library and find Cassie and Adrian sitting at a table.

"Hi Kat! Oh, who's she?" Cassie asked.

"This is believe it or not, Alexa. I bet you met her, but she's a totally different person." I said and Alexa looked at me and smiled.

"Of course! Come hang with us!" We sat down and I sat next to Adrian who seemed to be very shy.

Cassie was looking at the two of us with a smirk on her face.

"Adrian, I know that you want to do it, no need to be shy."

"Cassie!"

He looked away and his face was all red.

"Don't listen to her..... I think."

"Oh Adrian, you're always such a party pooper."

"Do you think I can do that, right here, right now?"

"Um, yeah."

Adrian looked towards me.

"Can I kiss you?"

What?

Did he just say?

No, I have to be dreaming, this day is not real.

I started to get so red and I could feel my heart pounding.

I said no words and leaned closer to him, and that's when our lips touched for a second. And then, Adrian held my head and kissed me again.

"You know, I always had a crush on you ever since we met, but I didn't know how to tell you. And, you know that I'm no good with words."

"Hey, I'm no good either." I said back to him.

Cassie clapped and Alexa was speechless.

"Yay! Now, I can be a third wheel!" She said to Alexa.

"Hey, Adrian. I have a word of advice for you and my sister, so listen up."

We looked at her and Alexa's tone sounded serious.

"If you two ever plan on beginning to date, don't ever rush things. I made that mistake with my boyfriend and he ended up cheating on me. So, you know, take your time you two. I wish you two the best."

"Awww, thank you!" I said to Alexa.

"And for Adrian, I would say that... remember that Kat has an older sister as well. If anything goes off, let me know if you can't tell but if you hide secrets from Kat, I will find out."

"Alexa, you don't have to be so overprotective!"

"What? I'm just giving him a warning."

"As if the bratty version of you wasn't scary enough."

"Hey, you know? There was One thing that you told me. And, that is people mature in age and experience. I never really knew that I was a brat until I was told multiple times that I was. And when my world shook, I realized that I had to stop acting like a child."

"Even when times were rough, I always stood by you, even if you didn't want me there. Because, family is your top priority, unless your family is truly abusive to you, then you go to friends."

" I was selfish of a point in my life. Because I thought that I had all this money and I thought I had to spend it all. I didn't know what to do with myself even though at times, it seemed like I had everything in the world and I just put random things I needed because I was scared of people that were going to judge me. Because of our family name. And, I was jealous because you were you, you were happy and carefree, and I wondered what I could do."

"Alexa, that's all in the past now. We're both starting a new chapter in our lives. And you know, you're one person I definitely want to spend it with along with my friends as well. Even though we won't be in high school together, you'll probably still live with us. But just remember, our mistakes can be reversed sometimes they can be easy to reverse, and sometimes it just takes time."

I looked at all of them.

One year is down, and another one is soon to come.
