Checking the time, you saw it was 5 minutes to 8pm. Packing your study material in your bag you walked down the dark corridors of school. You've left school late before but it was the first time in a long time you actually walked down these corridors alone in the dark. Alone at night with one of the shady guys from the group.
Nearing the lab that had all its lights on your blood instantly ran cold when you saw who else was in that lab.
Inhaling and exhaling several times you tried to put on a poker face to mask the confusion and fear before entering the classroom.
"I didn't know we would have an audience." Referring to Hisoka that was sitting on the table, Grimmjow sitting on the chair with his legs up on the table disrespectfully, Hidan and Illumi both sitting on another table lazily.
"Just ignore them, they are waiting for me. Did you managed to figure out the timing?" Uta clearly changed the topic.
Trying your best to peel your eyes off them and onto Uta, you slowly followed him to another desk a bit further away from them.
"Heh, one girl five guys, how tempting to not do something to you y/n." An obnoxiously loud Grimmjow rudely commented as you walked away from them.
"Touch me and see what happens Grimmjow." You deathly glared at him over your shoulders.
"Oh? Is that a challenge y/n." Grimmjow smugly got up and started heading your way.
"Why don't you try your luck and test me." You confidently stood your ground even though you were beyond terrified of being alone at night with 5 guys.
"Grimmjow." Uta called out his name which instantly made him stop walking. As if they had a mini conversation and came to an understanding with just their eyes, Grimmjow went and sat back down to his original disrespectful position.
Leaving your bag and phone on the desk, you walked over to the other that had all the products for this experiment laid out.
"Yeah for that quantity you dealing with you'll need to soak it in Ammonium chlorate for at least 30 minutes. But I'm just worried about one thing."
"What?"
"Atmospheric temperature and altitude may have an effect on how it reacts." Having said that you noticed how Uta looked at the guys for a few seconds before looking back at you.
"Look, I know you can't tell me any details, but I'm just saying at a lower altitude and temp the endothemic release will be slow and if whatever you need this for is 'time sensitive' you could be in deep trouble."
"And if it's at higher altitude and temperature?"
"Then.. It's going to become unstable and it might release too early when you aren't ready."
"What happens if it's the opposite way around. High altitude but low temperature, or low altitude but high temperature?" Uta pushed your intelligence even more.
Sitting there in silence, you tapped your index finger on the table in deep thought.
"Is it possible to ask you to write down all the physics and Chem working out for all possible scenarios? Exact timings of each will be helpful."
Chewing your lip anxiously at Uta, you got up and went to the board and picked up a piece of chalk. "Yeah I can try." You muttered before writing away.
Uta and rest went about their own business because they eventually realized that you needed time alone to think and write. After 20 minutes of none stop writing you suddenly just stopped. With the chalk still in your hand, you pressed your forehead against the board and closed your eyes.
