I raised my eyebrows and called Miss Justine up. She answered right away like she usually does.

"Hi," she said.

"So we posting videos of us in the shower now?"

"Um, you weren't there."

"That's the problem."

She laughed. "I knew I was gon' hear from you."

"That should be for my eyes only."

She snorted. "Yeah, right. Tell that to Gabrielle."

"Who?"

"...Beyoncé. I'm not doing this with you."

"Who you planning to do it with then?"

"If you could see my face right now..."

"I do wannna see your face. You at home?"

She sighed. "Yep. Just lounging."

"I'm on my way."

She didn't protest. Of course not. She loves my company just as much as I love hers.

As I got off the phone, my "brother" Dave walked in, his younger sister tagging behind. I smiled and hugged his towering frame. Halle just gave me this little wave, which I accepted, but I wanted to mess with her. Now that she was older, she could take it.

"Girl, you better go on with that little stranger wave. You know me."

She brought her head back, laughing.

Dave laughed too and looked at his sister, waiting to see what her next move was gonna be.

"You gon' hug her?" he asked.

"Do you want a hug?" she addressed me, all sassy like. Now that was the Halle I recognize.

"Yeah." I smiled and we embraced.

Dave anxiously checked his pockets. "Damn, I gotta go to my car." He mumbled about forgetting something and hurried back out the door.

"Not to be rude, but I'm about to leave," I said.

"That's a shame."

"Yeah, y'all should have told me you were coming through."

"Where are you going?"

I wobbled my head a little. "If you must know, I'm seeing somebody."

"Oh. I see." She smirked.

Dave returned to the kitchen.

"You got what you needed?" I asked.

"Yeah," he nodded.

"I was just telling Bailey I'm 'bout to leave. Why you ain't tell me you was coming?"

"To be honest, I wasn't planning on coming, but we were in the area and Halle asked about you, so I thought we'd see if you was home."

"Aww."

"It's cool, though. Go see your little trick," said Halle.

"Here we go," Dave said, shaking his head.

"Halle," I said, disapprovingly.

"Bye." She smiled sarcastically and turned on her heels.

"That mouth is getting out of control," I commented to Dave.

"I know and I can't say nothing 'cause she's grown."

"Let me go talk to her."

He chuckled and I walked to the door. Halle was in Dave's car. I walked up to it and softly knocked on the window. She rolled her eyes.
