The Black household was much quieter that weekend, now that Draco was around. Sirius had insisted that no Order meetings were to be held, and he had limited the amount of people coming and going whilst they adjusted.
Taking care of his own daughter was hard enough, never mind harboring his ex death eater nephew. His hands were more than full now.
Draco was mostly quiet, around everyone except Cassie unsurprisingly. It was an almost impossible situation to get his head around, now that he would have to face the reality of never seeing his family again. At best they would never accept him back after this betrayal, any other outcome would only result in death.
The only people who knew about this new addition was Remus, Sirius, James and Lily who were are truthfully unsure how to even tell anyone else. Although to them they had rescued Draco, but to anyone else it'd look like a clear case of kidnapping a death eater.
"I'm beginning to think you have a death wish." Draco spoke, joining Cassie on the porch.
"What this," Cassie shrugged, offering him a cigarette. "believe me when I say this is the least of my problems."
"Can we wallow in my issues for now?" he sighed, taking a drag. "What could be worse than escaping from your own parents and The Dark Lord."
"You have got to stop calling him that, sounds like you're worshipping him." Cassie shuddered. "I'd hate to take the spotlight off of you but it turns out Dumbledore only kept me around long enough to be able to use my magic, and now he wants me to go and kill our lovely Aunt."
"Yeah fair enough, you've got it worse." Draco hummed in agreement.
Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched intensely by three grown men from the upstairs window.
"What do you think they're talking about?" James whispered. "They look quite scary together, I mean they were trying to kill each other a few weeks ago!"
"I feel like i've just gone 30 years into the past back to one of Walburgas old parties." Sirius paled.
"Will you both give it a rest!" Remus sighed.
"We're observing Moony. It's what responsible parents do." James nodded, convincing himself of his own words.
"Which parenting book are you reading now?" Remus taunted. "Believe it or not they've been mostly great friends for years- oh for merlin's sake why has she thrown him over 50 feet!"
The three threw themselves down the stairs and out into the garden, to be met with Cassie in a fit of laughter.
"Please tell me you saw that!" Cassie managed breathlessly, doubling over in a fit of laughter.
"Why did you send him flying through the air Cassie!" Sirius asked, unsure who was at fault.
"Fucking hilarious." Draco muttered, finally making his way back and shaking off the dirt and bruises he'll surely have tomorrow.
"You should have seen his face up close!" Cassie continued.
"We get it. You can do strange magic. Well done." Draco mumbled.
"I could've killed you, and you would have never seen it coming."
"But you're not going to are you Cassie." Remus interrupted quickly. "We've talked about this. Multiple times."
