•Short Chapter•

IS IT BAD that I'm too terrified to comprehend what's happened so far? Yeah, let's recap real quick.

First off, I saved a random child who turned out was the son of an insanely important person.

Thennn I was nearly choked to death, dragged like a piñata, and now I'm being held against my will in a what? Mansion?

Sounds about right.

I dropped the note pad and pen onto a desk before I sat in an empty chair. I held my head in my hands and just sat there.

I have no one else. No one knows I was taken, I'm completely unreachable seeing how I somehow lost my damn phone.

My heart started pounding and I could remember vividly what happened the last time I felt like this.

It was just after it happened. After everyone in my life left me.

My lungs filled and released air rapidly, my chest felt tense as I was struggling to breath, a tingling sensation was sent through my palm to my finger tips. I felt like I was gonna die.

Before I could continue having my panic attack, the rooms doors swung open. I didn't look up, I couldn't. I already knew who it was and that what scares me.

Wasn't it always better to not know your murderer?

After the door opened, footsteps approached me. They stopped after a while.

Is this how I die? Here?

Tears brimmed my eyes as they rolled down my cheeks.

I'm so pathetic.

A seemingly never ending silence filled the room. An excruciating silence, one that was only broken by the sound of a pen clicking.

"You have photographic memory?" The silk like voice asked. Through my curly hair and damp lashes I looked up at the man.

He was staring down at he note pad. His eyes never left it as he spoke.

"This is the truck that almost killed my son?" He asked in a calm voice.

He must have noticed my situation and what I'm going through. I doubt he's doing it out of kindness, though. Most likely just to get answers from me.

"Y-yes." I whisper, my voice raspy from the lack of use.

I heard a light thump and looked over to see the note pad on the desk and him walking towards me. He stood in front of me and I backed up in the chair.

This man had so much power it was almost impossible to be afraid.

"Don't." He said as I leaned my head back when he attempted to touch my face.

He had knelt down, being face to face with my sitting figure as I stared at him.

His hand slowly reaches for my cheek, gently cupping it as his thumb wiped a tear from my stained face.

His gorgeous eyes stared into mine as he continued to caress my cheek. His warmth spread to me, sending chills down my spine and instantly relaxing me.

"Don't give me a reason to harm you." He said as his hand slowly slipped from my cheek to the side of my neck.

I lightly gasped as I looked at its connecting arm. He had a look of isolation in those green eyes of his, a look I related to on so many different levels.

"Now, tell me." He began as he removed his hand and stood. "Do you have photographic memory?"

At the time, I wasn't thinking straight. I thought whatever I needed to do to stay alive was to tell him what he needed to hear.

And only god knows, I wanted to stay alive. So I did a dumb thing.

I said the truth.

"Yes."
