I SHIFTED UNCOMFORTABLY as I stood still, trying to find Prince in the crowd of people. It seemed nearly impossible as heads bobbed up and down, seeming like a wave of people.

I stood in the same exact spot for a good twenty minutes, expecting him to be done with his business. He wasn't.

As I did my best to remain on the outskirts of the crowd— not wanting to be swept away by dozens of strangers— people walked past me talking about either money, weapons or women.

"Excuse me." An unfamiliar voice said as a man walked up to me, holding out his hand.

"Uh.." I mumbled, not knowing what to do. Prince specifically told me not to talk to anyone here without him by my side.

He also said he would stay besides me the whole time, too.

"I'm Timothy, you can call me Tim." He said with a small smirk. I gave him a nervous smile as his eyes raked my body up and down.

"Nice to meet you. I've gotta go." I said as I made my way to turn around. A cold hand tightly gripped my arm, spinning me back around.

"Ha, you're funny." He said with a lazy look, not letting me go. "Wanna dance?"

I stared at him and furrowed my brows.

"Okay first, this is not how you ask someone to dance." I say, gesturing towards his grip before yanking my arm from his grasp.

"Plus there's no music playing." I add as I acknowledge the only noise in the large room being other peoples chatter and the faint sound of violins in the background.

"We can make our own music." He said slyly. I rolled my eyes and took a step back.

"I'm gong now." I said, trying to leave. As I spoke my eyes scanned the crowd for Princes' figure.

"Aw come on, we just met." As I looked up at him his grey eyes seemed to have twinkled.

"Exactly why I need to leave; I don't know you." I spoke again, a bit slower this time, hoping he can understand that I want him to leave me alone.

"And I, you." He said as he took another step towards me. He looked down at me, scanning my face intently. "What family do you belong to?"

"What family?" I repeated. He nodded, awaiting my answer.

"Or did you somehow sneak in?" He teased, staring me down with a ridiculous smirk. "It's invitation only, you know. It'd be practically impossible to enter without one."

That was an understatement. When we pulled up there was at least six guards guarding the entrance. Not to mention as I was wondering around aimlessly I spotted a handful of men standing in the dark, gun in hand.

"I was invited." I stated. He tilted his head to the side, wanting me to continue. "And I need to find him, so please, excuse me."

I quickly say and step away from Tim. The only difference from the time before was that he made no move to stop me.

As I glided away from him I was swallowed by the crowd. As I tried to keep my balance and my cool, I was finally spit out on the other side of the room. I took a deep breath, thankful that I wasn't surrounded by people on every side.

I slowly froze when someone shoved passed me, wanting to turn invisible as I felt my back bump into someone else's.

I wanted to avoid any and everyone else until I found Prince again. My short yet extremely uncomfortable talk with Tim made me realize that walking around in hopes of finding Prince would raise suspicion. Especially since I resembled a lost puppy looking for its owner.
