⚠️Long Chapter⚠️

"IS HE OKAY?" I asked frantically, my cheeks stained with tears. Leonardo looked down at me, pulling on the elastic band of his surgical gloves before removing them.

"He's...fine. Just unconscious." He wryly said, tossing the gloves into a nearby trash can. I frowned as I noticed the unsureness in his words.

"Leo.." I mumbled, making him sigh.

"He's got a couple broken ribs and two gunshot wounds. Of course they're not fatal, they didn't hit any vital organs, but one should make it a point to not get shot nonetheless." He admitted. My heart stopped, clenching tightly in my chest.

"But he's going to make a full recovery, right?" I asked, looking up at him with hopeful eyes. He nodded reassuringly, trying his best to calm me down.

"Most certainly, The Don has had far more serious injuries than this and has managed to walk away with only a few scars." He said, almost full of himself. The certainty in his voice made my heart slow down to its regular beat, my body relaxing.

I took a seat back in the chair I had previously sat in while nervously awaiting the arrival of Leo.

"But if you don't mind me asking, since no one tells me a damn thing around here; what happened to The Don that could've left him in such a state?" He queried.

I sighed, resting my hands in each other to stop the involuntary shaking. I thought back to a few hours ago.

"I should come with." I said as I held onto Princes' arm, shadowing him as we walked into his room. He looked down at me, releasing me as he turned to lock the door.

"I think it's best if you stay here." He said. I frowned, standing in front of him. He sighed as he watched my upset demeanor. "I don't want anything to happen to you, bella."

"Nothing is going to happen to me." I tried to reassure. He crossed his arms, my attention momentarily going to his flexed biceps. "I can't let you take Polly by yourself to the middle of nowhere. At least if I'm there, I can watch over her until her father comes."

"No. You saw how afraid he was when he found out they were being followed. He's clearly involved in something dangerous. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something bad happened to you." He stated. He pulled me by my waist, holding onto me tightly.

"And you think I would be able to if the roles were reversed?" I shot back. He only smirked down at me, leaning down and kissing my lips, the small peck of a kiss making my heart flutter.

"I'll be fine, baby." He mused, his deep voice soothing me. I hesitantly nodded, resting my head against his chest as he held me closer.

"I'm taking your word for it."

I looked up at Leo, seeing his reaction. His face seemed concentrated, almost as if he was trying to figure something out.

"Then thirty minutes ago Alice woke me up and told me to quickly come down here." I said weakly. He sat down besides me and rubbed my back.

"He'll be fine." He chimes as he looked down towards me. I tried to contain myself but couldn't stop as my sniffles turned back into tears.
