⚠️ Long Chapter ⚠️

POV: CHANGE

I WALKED DOWN the various halls of my house, debating if I should stop by and check on Royal.

I wanted to see her again.

I know, I know, I just saw her. It didn't change the fact that I wanted to still see her.

I smiled to myself as I stopped in front of her door, my hand resting on its handle. I stopped myself before I opened it.

No. No distractions. Deal with Marcus first, then you can spend as much time as you want with Royal. She does, after all, live here.

I stepped back, examining her door and wondering what she's doing on the other side of it.

I groan as my feet walked in the opposite direction, pointing me to my office.

•••

I'd spent the last two hours figuring out what to do with my cousin.

No, not cousin. He does not deserve that title.

As I was about to continue my plans of torture, my doors swung open. I rolled my eyes as I saw my mother strut into the room, a ginormous smile on her face.

"Can I help you, ma'am?" I ask as I pick up one of the random pieces of papers my desk was full of.

"I stayed awake until midnight to know the details of what happened tonight!" She exclaimed as she rushed into one of the seats that were placed in front of my desk.

"No one told you to stay awake." I replied as I put the paper down, staring at her with an unimpressed look.

She ignored me as she shot questions at me a mile a minute.

"Tell me something! Is she going to be my new daughter in law?!" She shouted out in excitement.

"When are you going back home?" I asked.

"This Sunday night. But since it's Friday, I get to spend the weekend with you guys!" She said happily, her voice bouncing around the room.

"Now, tell me what happened or I swear I'll wake up Royal and bother her about it." She said. I narrowed my eyes.

"You wouldn't."

"Don't you know who you're talking to, little boy?"

We stared one another down for a solid minute before she stood up, inching towards the door.

"Alright fine. Sit down." I give in. She smirks as she elegantly takes her seat.

"When we got there Rob and Sarah were having their usual marital arguments." I began as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"We sat down and I got a phone call. I left for about twenty minuet to see her gone." I continued. My mother rose a brow, literally sitting on the edge of her seat.

"What?! Where did she go?!" She yelled. I sighed as I looked at my mother.

I loved her to death, she did after all raise me. But at times, most times, she can go a bit overboard.

"She went out looking for me with someone she met at the restaurant." I answered. She gasped.

"Was this someone a guy? Was he all over her?!"
