:EDITED:

ONCE I GET my door unlocked, we walk through the doorway. I make my way to my living room, the small human being following me.

"Wow, your house is so small." He says aloud. I look back at him and raise my brow.

"Excuse me?" I say as I turn to him and place a hand on my hip.

My house is normal sized, amazingly decorated, and cozy. I'm very proud of it, thank you very much.

"S-sorry." He said after he felt my gaze on him.

Smart boy.

"Mhm.." I mutter as I take my phone from him and place it on the coffee table. I turn around and look back at him.

"What in the world were you doing in the middle of the road?" I ask, my voice noticeably wavering as I thought back to us almost dying.

He sits on the arm of my couch. He suddenly finds my 'small house' very interesting given the fact he won't look up at me but at everything else in the room.

"I-I was with my nanny, but she kept screaming at me.." he started before his gaze shifted from my rug to my marble counter.

"And?"

"And I ran away from her." He said as he finally looked up at me. I frowned before I spoke.

"Why'd you run?" I asked as I walked up to him, placing my hand on his head.

"B-because.. I don't like b-being yelled a-at." He sniffles, about to cry again. Before he got the chance to let a tear fall, I picked him up. I held him into my chest and slowly pat his head.

"I know you don't like being picked up but I thought you could use it. Is this okay?" I asked in a low whisper. I felt him nod against my shoulder as I felt a wet spot fall on my shoulder.

After about 30 minutes of me comforting him, I sat him on my kitchen island.

"Are you going to clean my boo boo?" He asks, still taking in my home. I smile at his choice of words and nod.

"Now, stay here, I'll be right back." I say. He nods. I quickly rush out the room and into my bathroom. I rummage through all my cabinets and drawers until I find the small white box with the red cross in the center of it.

I'm in a hurry because, although I'm not a mother, I know you're not supposed to leave your child unattended.

Good thing he's not my child then, huh?

"Okay! I'm back!" I shout as my body aches. He looks up from the counter to me, his feet stops swinging as he smiles.

"Yay!" He says as he throws his arms in the air. I chuckle before walking towards him.

As I'm in front of him, tending to the 'boo boo' on his elbow, I can t help but feel his green eyes on mine. I look up, slightly startling him.

"What?" I ask as I put his arm down.

"Are you wearing conracts?" He asks. I smile at his mispronunciation.

"You mean contacts?" I ask and he nods his head.

"Yeah, I am. How could you tell?" I ask, looking at him oddly. He just shrugged his shoulders as he continued to look into my eyes with a big smile.

"Did you finish heal me?" He asked as he looked over at his elbow, bending it before I could stop him. He let out a small hiss and I frowned before grabbing his arm and gently straightening it out.

"It's gonna sting a bit. Let me put on a bandaid." I said as I pulled out the small cardboard box from the white one.

"No not those!" He yells besides me. I look at him and then back at the box. The brown, plain bandaids lose again.

"Okay, how bout these?" I ask, holding up spongebob bandaids. He smiles and rapidly nods his head.

I peel off the white covering on one side before carefully placing it on his wound. I peeled of the other side and laid it flat on his scrape.

"There we go, all better." I say as I clean up everything and put them on the far corner of my kitchen island.

"And, just so you know, when you ask for something you say please and thank you." I say to him. He pales a bit before nodding.

"R-right..sorry!" He says cutely.

"It's alright, sweetie." I say as I pick him up and gently place him on he ground.

"Your dad's probably worried sick. Do you know where you live or how to get home?" I ask.

He pauses his giddy attitude and frowns. I look down at him and tilt my head.

What the-

I bend down to his level and rub his arm.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" I ask in a cool voice. He sniffles again before he lunges at me. He wraps his arms around my neck and buries his face in my shoulder.

"I-I don't wanna go home!" He cried. I squinted my eyes before I hugged him back.

"I-It's okay.." I say, caught off guard by the way he was acting. I pat his head and sigh.

"You're okay."
