MY HAND RAISED as my thin fingers danced in front of my eyes, my vision only slightly coming back as I continued to blink a few times.
Everything finally seemed to come to a standstill after a couple of minutes, my head throbbing.
I barely noticed the redness that stained my fingers until I pressed my fingertips together, the substance sticky as it slowly dried.
The scarlet streaks trailed all the way down my arms, my eyes following them to my elbow as they widened.
My eyes scrunched close as I tried to remember what happened, Noelle's face and a knife flashing through my mind before I was being drugged.
I tried to sit up, now being aware of everything that happened. The only sound that came from me was a hoarse grunt as my neck was pulled back down onto the table I was laying on, me choking back a few cries.
My hands instantly traveled to my neck, the feeling of cold material pressing against me now evident. A chain, connected to the table, was now wrapped around my neck, panic setting in as I grasped at it.
My throat was dry, my lips were cracked and my whole body was now shivering as the low temperature of the room set onto my skin.
The repeated clanking of the chain rang throughout the quiet room, my fingers trying their best to slither between the small space between my neck and the chain in a desperate attempt to take it off.
At this point all logical sense and tactics went out the window.
I couldn't move my head, turning it to the side to examine my surroundings was a struggle as the rusty chain scraped at my throat.
"God.." I croaked, my voice coming out much more cracked and disoriented than I imagined.
A foul mixture of cigarettes, blood and sweat swarmed the air as a painful ringing sounded in my ears.
I shut my eyes hard, this being the only thing I could possibly do in my situation besides groaning in pain.
Once the ringing subsided I balled my hand into a fist, the action causing me to pause as my hands were covered in something.
Slowly raising them to view, I saw dried, sticky blood clinging to my skin and digging under my finger nails.
A coat of fresh blood had been on my once balled hand, causing my eyes to wander to the minimal view I had of my body.
I was soaked in it.
The almost quiet sound of hundreds of pitter-patters was heard from above me, the noise becoming louder and louder as I was left with my thoughts.
By now, to me, the rain was thundering outside, hammering in my ears as my hands landed on my stomach.
I was in a new pair of clothes, the shirt opened down the front all the way, allowing the cold air to hit me like a brick wall once I undid the buttons and attempted to find the source of blood.
The chain harshly pulled me back down as tears filled my eyes, my vision becoming blurry all over again.
The next thing I know, everything turns to black, my body going limp.
•••
"Time to get up sunshine."
My mind stirred at the voice, my eyes opening up once again.
