"GOOD NIGHT, JUNIOR." I said softly as I kissed his forehead after tucking him into his bed. He smiled up at me, his dimple shining through.

"Goodnight, mama." He said quietly before drifting off.

That's the second time he's called me mom.

I smiled softly as I stared down at him. With my family history I never thought that I really wanted kids, always fearing I'd end up with someone like my father. I don't think I could do what she did. Be strong enough to endure that pain and misery for years on end. And that's what scares me.

I don't know how full and loving my future with Prince may be but I do care for him, so much so that if he was the one by my side, I think I might do okay with kids.

I stood up from his bedside and closed his light, placing the book I just read to him back on the large bookshelf in his room.

I closed the door quietly and walked down the hall. With Prince's words still ringing in my head, I thought to how I'm going to meet Zion in an hour.

Every night Junior was to be in bed by nine, nine thirty at the latest, and I'd spend the next hour or so preparing his clothes and food for the morning.

My phone dinged so I pulled it out, seeing it was the text from Zion I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting was the note that went along with it.

Hey, let's meet at the Rainstorm Cafe- they stay open till 11. If we're not done by then we can go to my place, it's pretty close by!
See you then gorgeous!

I cringed at the thought of going to his house. Zion has been a great and understanding friend since I met him, I would hate to lose that due to a misunderstanding.

I've got to set some boundaries.

My fingers typed as I slowed my pace, coming to a stop so I don't bump into anything in the hall.

Hey, Zion. I'm not really comfortable with staying at your house, we can go to mine though.
From the address you gave it seems mines is closer.

I sent the message, hoping to get a reply soon.

That place might have some horrible memories, but to me it's the only place I had ever called home. Where the memories of when my parents were happy lived, and honestly, that was the only thing keeping me sane for the longest time.

Oh of course! Sorry I didn't mean to sound like I had ill intent, I just thought it was convenient! We'll got to yours then.

I sighed happily, making my way to the kitchen. I surprisingly saw a mysterious man standing there, his phone in his hand as he took a bite of an apple.

I froze as he began to tap on his phone, wondering if I should turn around before he saw me. I couldn't dwell on it too much, though, seeing as my phone dinged loudly again and caught the attention of the mysterious man.

Seriously, Zion?

His head shot up, looking at me with a hint of confusion before his eyes scanned my body.

"Well, who are you?" He asked, sitting up as he slid his phone into his back pocket.

"Looks like we were thinking the same question." I replied, staring him down. I instantly stopped once I examined him.

He had dark brown hair, fair skin and beautiful thick eyebrows. He had dark blue eyes along with a strong jawline. A mental image of Prince appeared, comparing it with the man in front of me. My brain clicked as I realized who he was.

"You're Liam, right?" I asked. He looked surprised for a second before nodding, a small smirk on his face.

"You must be the girl Maria drugged, Royal if I remember correctly." He questioned and I nodded. "Damn, you know she knew how I liked my laundry done? What a shame she was batshit crazy, huh."

I couldn't help the laugh that escaped from me, making him do the same. This was the first time in a couple of days that she was brought up and I'm glad this was how.

"More than batshit crazy if you ask me." I added, resting a hand on my hip as I stared at him.

He doesn't seem too bad. Maybe Prince was over reacting out of jealousy or spite.

"Yeah well, with Prince's and Maria's history, I'm honestly surprised nothing like this has happened before. Especially with Noelle, they seemed like the perfect match."

My smile remained as I blinked my eyes, my blinks rapidly increasing as I tried comprehended what he said.

"Wait- rewind. What did you say?" I asked, staring at him with wide eyes.

He looks up at me with a confused look, raising a brow before he freezes.

"Did- uh did my brother not..mention that he and Maria were a...thing- kinda- not really?" He stammered over his words. I shook my head as I arched my brow.

"No. He did not."

"Welp... you guys will have a lot to talk about.." He mumbled, shuffling his way out the kitchen. "Ima just- nice meeting you!"

After he shouted that, he ran out the kitchen, almost falling over as I scoffed.  As I was about to turn around and go look for Prince and make him explain what the hell Liam was talking about, my phone dinged again.

Hey sorry Royal, I'm wondering if we can meet up now. I've got something important to do at midnight and I don't know how long this might take.
Three hours should be more than enough though, especially with that big brain of yours! We can still meet at the Rainstorm cafe, see you soon!

I groaned as I closed my phone, narrowing my eyes down the hallway where I knew Prince was, working in his office most likely. I turned the other way and walked towards the stairs.

As I came to the front door, two of the buff guards nodded at me before opening the large doors. I smiled at them as I stopped in front of them, remembering their faces as those who helped me with my bags when I went shopping.

"Hey Jean, Max." I smiled at the men, them giving me a small smile back.

"Signora capo." They greeted. (Translation: Lady boss.)

"Is the car ready?" I asked, peeking out the open doors.

"Yes, but you aren't scheduled to leave until ten. The Don will have to be notified if you are leaving early." Jean announced, looking down at me.

"Tell him all you want, I'll be in the car." I said, walking past them and walking down the steps.

I arrived at the large SUV, being unable to drive wasn't really a problem when you work for a 'billionaire' who claims to care for you.

I opened the door and entered it, taking a seat in the back and pulling out my phone.

I'm on my way, I'll try and be as helpful as I can.

I pressed send and shut off my phone, sighing as I saw Max and Jean disappeared. They came back a few minutes later, Jean walking down the steps as Max stood back at the door, guarding it.

Jean came up to the car and slapped the back of it. I leaned back once the sound of the engine turned over, finally starting up and pulling out of the large, circular drive way.

"I can't wait for Princes' explanation this time."
